How to disable Intel HD Graphics (HP Pavilion G6-2303sq)

I have HP Pavilion G6-2303sq.
It has Intel® HD Graphics 4000 and AMD Radeon™ HD 7670M.
I have all drivers and updates installed.
I tried to disable in BIOS, but there is no feature.

Use the configure switchable graphics method.
Set the high performance graphics adapter as the current adapter. Untick the automatically select power-saving GPU when on battery option.  Click on Apply and then OK.Once this is done, the only adapter that will be used is the ATI Radeon HD adapter whether on AC power or battery.

erico

  • How to disable Intel HD graphics and use nvidia card?

    Hello,
I would like to ask for some assistance.
I want to use the Gtx 630m but instead the laptop keeps using the Intel HD chipset.
    What I tried so far:
    1. In nVidia control panel I set nVidia graphics card as default in global setting, and for several programs I frequently use as well
    2. In BIOS there is no option for Switchable Graphics
Is there any BIOS update for this?
    Thanks!

If you are trying to stop using the intel gpu all together you are not going to be able to do that at all.
They system and the software are designed to work with both GPU chipsets and assign accordingly.
    I hope this helps.

  • How to disable G510 inbuilt graphic

    Hello Lenovo Users,
I newly purchased G510 which came with Intel HD Graphics 4600... I'm using Windows 7, 32bit OS as my business application works only on 32 bit.....Since i have configured for 32 bit i see RAM availability is showing 2.6GB....I know to show 4GB i need to install 64bit OS..My question is, can i disable graphics option in BIOS so my RAM gets more space...If so, how to do it in BIOS and is it safe? Appreciate ur inputs pls...
    Solved!

    hi girish1015,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I'm afraid that this is not possible,
This has always been Mainboard Memory remapping and WIndows OS automatic settings.
Memory remapping is not available in the BIOS to adjust the Shared RAM, also disabling the Graphics is not available.
and Memory allocation depends on the amount of RAM installed on the computer together with the Operating system type.
    Regards
    Solid Cruver

  • Windows 8 and Boot Camp 5 with Mid-2011 iMac12,2 DISABLING INTEL HD GRAPHICS

There seems to be some issue with this newer Boot Camp 5 and Windows 8 becuase of the Intel HD graphics in the processor. I have a maxed out Intel iMac 27" Mid-2011 with Intel Core i7 and AMD Radeon 6970M 2GB.
When Windows 8 Pro is first installed with Boot Camp 5 USB flash drive everything seems fine. The Intel HD graphics are detected and so is the AMD Radeon. But if the machine is put to sleep the computer resumes and has a BSOD. The reason is igdkmd64.sys.
I think the only way I know of to solve this is to disable the Intel HD graphics in Device Manager before the machine begins crashing. On "first" boot the Intel HD graphics are listed in device manager. Later depending on restart, sleep, hibernate, the Intel HD graphics are listed under hidden devices in Device Manager.
    IS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCING THIS?
DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE A SOLUTION BESIDES THIS?

I don't know if it's just my iMac that lists the Intel HD graphics, but one day it showed up in Windows 7 and still exists today in Windows 8. Could somebody see if theirs shows up in Windows in Device Manager? Maybe with Show Hidden Devices checked.
BTW I did a clean install and left the boot camp usb flash drive inserted during the install which automatically installs intel hd and bluetooth and then start boot camp drivers installs after Windows setup is completed.

  • How to increase Intel HD Graphics (core i3) memory to or near it's maximum value ??

    Dear All
I got Lenovo G560, Core i3 2.13 ghz, 3G of Ram, with Built in Intel HD Graphic card which minimum graphic memory is 32, the Maximum G.Memory is 1275, BUT the main Proplem is that the actual memory in use is Only 78 - 82 --> so I can't play any of the 512 new games like Need for Speed the RUN or Even NFS : Shift in a medium sitting (it hardly works or crashes in case of low sitting) also can't play Batman Arkham city 2011, it plays Batman arkham asylum within low sitting
So are there anyway to raise the actual memory in use to just reach 512mb or closer to gain full advantage of my laptop graghic card ?? hope anyone got a Solution for me. !
by the way working under win 7 home premium 32bit, running latest up to date direct X, and latest driver sofware for the intel HD Graphic display adaptor  .. Ready to increase the ram to be 4 G if that will SURE raise the actual VRAM ..

first of all, g serie lenovos are not designed for games.
if you have switchable graphic support ( i don't think g serie does ) try to activate it. otherwise, you have only one option that to increase the ram so shared graphic card can use more ram.

  • Windows 10 TP disables Intel HD Graphics driver

I'm really sorry if this is answered somewhere else but I have given up searching. I'm not a 'Tech Pro' so apologies for posting here - I just can't find any public forums for it.
A routine update of Windows 10 TP/IP a few months ago (not 100% sure which one) disabled my Intel(R) HD Graphics driver. In Device Manager, my driver has the error message:
This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)
If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.
    Could anyone please help?
    Thanks.

reboot the machine a few times and see if that helps get windows to reorganize the devices
more machine specs would be useful

Yes I have the monitor hooked up to the GTX260 connection and I am getting a picture fine even though the 260 is not showing up in the device manager.   It shows "standard VGA adaptor" in the device manager.  That is why I was going to just install the latest drivers for the 260 and see what happens.

  • How to disable Nvidia Graphics card to improve battery life in Bios?

Hi I am trying to figure out how to disable my Nvidia Graphics Card with my Custom Bios. I don't want to tinker with my Bios settings without getting some advice. Thanks!!!! I have MSI GE70 2PE 012US laptop. My custom bios is this version E1759SSS.516.

You can't really disable nvidia graphics as all laptops with dedicated card can't just use Intel HD only..

  • How do I enable Integrated Graphics on Win 7, w/ bootcamp 5?

    Since I bought a 2012 MBP(15-inch, 2.3hz I7, gt 650m 512mb vram), and installed Windows 7, via Bootcamp, I've been having problems with temperature.
I've searched the web a little bit about it, made some tests, and most of it is about Intel Turbo Boost excessive heat and mainly about the dedicated graphics.
Under OS X 10.8.5 or 10.9(recently), i run games using limiters to disable both, the turbo boost (limiting at 2.3ghz) and the graphics to Integrated only. Games such as, Path of Exile, Team Fortress 2, League of Legends, Dota 2, runs under these conditions very smoothly, around 65 fps, at 75-80 oC with both coolers at 4700 rpm, what is OK, since I'm playing medium-heavy duty games.  BUT, not all my games are compatible with mac, so I installed Windows.
Under Windows, I was not able to find how to disable the dedicated graphics, and because of that, the same games runs (with the turbo boost disabled only) at over 90 oC (coolers at full speed, 6200rpm both), and the GPU keep droping FPS, since it underclocks itself, due to overheat.
my Question is : HOW DO I DISABLE THE DEDICATED GRAPHICS, AND ENABLE THE INTEGRATED ONES????
many games runs well with intel HD 4000, nvidia 650m is not necessary! but I cant limit my computer resources.
    Thx for your attention.

    ok then,
do you know if there is an alternative way, such as underclocking permanently the GPU, just as I did with the CPU?
at least it would stabilize the temperatures around 80.. or sth

  • How to disable discrete graphics card on dv7?

My dv7 6000 CTO (XW899AV) has been having graphics card issues for quite a while now (frequent screen flashes followed by error notifications), but lately it's gotten a lot worse.  Now I get a black screen after just a few minutes of use.
I'm nearly positive the problem lies with the discrete graphics card (ATI 6770M).   I'd like to disable the discrete card and only use the integrated Intel HD 3000.  Unfortunately the BIOS seems to hide the option to do this.  I tried disabling the ATI card in the device manager, but when I rebooted the card was enabled again.  Is there a way to disable the discrete card, even though HP seems hell bent on preventing me from doing so?  If I can't, the laptop is basically a brick.

I see that you are looking to disable your discrete graphics card. As you have seen that isn't going to work as the notebook is designed to work with both graphics card. What are the error notifications are you getting? If you can give me that exact error message we might be able to fix the cause of the problem. What operating system are you using?

The 15" Retina's will have better performance than any 13" Retina. Not only do the 15" machines have dedicated GPU's, but they also have quad-core processors, whereas the 13" Retina's only have dual-core processors.

    Hi p,
If you mean software, go to the Apple menu and select Software Update.
If you mean the actual hardware GPU, that is soldered onto the logic board and is not upgradeable.

  • How to disable iNTEGRATED graphics On the Y40? in bios

i want to fully disable the integrated graphics through bios. in the switchable graphics and uma, either use both or integrated basicly. how do i change it so its dedicated instead of integrated?

Good luck, but i dont recommend third party softwares to control the hardware of a laptop (especially the ones that have no reviews)
Chrome should work fine on an integrated chip, heck I could play games on the integrated chip back in 2006. I think your issue may be loss of performance in Battery mode.

  • How to disable the graphics card of my macbook air please?

how to disable the graphics card of my macbook air please?

I'm guessing there is a language issue here.  The graphics card is the actual hardware (chip) in your computer that allows it to create graphics and show them on your display.  There is no way to disable the graphics card on your Air because there would be no way to use it (it would not be able to display anything on any display).  This is a little different on machines with multiple graphics processors, but that's not the case with your Air.  I'd imagine you know what you want to do, we're just having trouble understanding your question.
