How to disable Itunes music stores auto account login on startup

Since I upgraded iTunes I've had a account log in screen asking me to sign in with my iTunes Store ID and password every-time I launch iTunes. Is there anyway to disable it? My wake-up- software stopped to work and im late to work everyday after this "upgrade".
Yes there is, and Apple themselves tells you how.
( ps. Apple, - please let it be a choice the next time, in preference.. )
Apples - support answer.
- I have some steps for you to try that should take care of this issue. Please try these steps below:
1. Quit iTunes.
2. Open your iTunes folder (usually found in the Music folder in your Home folder).
3. Double click the iTunes Music folder.
4. Inside you should find a folder called Downloads.
5. In this folder you will see a file "list.plist". Drag this file to your desktop.
6. Restart iTunes and hopefully iTunes will not ask for your password.
Please let me know if this works or not. Thank you for being an iTunes Store customer, and have a great day!
Sincerely,
Jessica

John Hammer1 is partially right. There are three locations for startup items
</System/Library/StartupItems>
</Library/StartupItems>
<~/Library/StartupItems>
(In theory, the first should be reserved exclusively for items bundled with Mac OS X.)
However, startup items have been deprecated since Tiger. Apple advises that only software which requires Panther compatibility should use them. The correct mechanism in Tiger and later is launchd. Therefore, if you don't find anything in the StartupItems folders, what you need to look for is a .plist file corresponding to your programme, which could be in
<~/Library/LaunchAgents>
</Library/LaunchAgents>
</Library/LaunchDaemons>
</System/Library/LaunchDaemons>
</System/Library/LaunchAgents>

  • ITunes Music Store Canada account creation issues

    Hello everyone! I'm hoping someone could help me out with my problems.
    I'm trying to setup an iTunes Music Store (Canada) account for my brother. I already have an account of my own and never had any problem with it. However, this time, I can't complete the account creation process. I get to the point where I enter the credit card information and address. I fill in every box, including the Province one: it's a drop-down menu and I select Quebec from it. When I click the Submit (I think it's Submit... it might be Next... I can't remember) button in the lower right corner, instead of going to the next step in the creation process, the page reloads and it tells me that I DID NOT fill in the Province box. There's a big arrow in a red circle pointing to the box. So, I reenter every information INCLUDING the Province field, reclick on the button and, lo and behold! I get the same message: You did not specify the Province (I'm paraphrasing).
    I have contacted Apple using their support form, but I got an absolutely useless reply. I think the person didn't read my message because he referred me to a beginner's tutorial on how to setup an account. I clearly explained the situation though, so I was disappointed.
    Did anyone ever encounter something similar? What do you suggest I do? Should I recontact Apple and re-explain the situation? Should I re-install iTunes? Will it affect the music libraries on my computer if I re-install it?
    For the record, I'm using a new 20" iMac with iTunes 7.0.2 and OS X 10.4.8.
    Thank you very much for any help you can provide me.
    ~Marc

    Your Dad should also check any credit/debit cards associated with his apple account... just incase anyone has been charging things to his account without him knowing.

  • How to change iTunes music store audio quality?

    Hi all,
    I just bought some songs off of iTunes store, and I noticed that they're 128kbs M4A. Is there any way to change it to 192k or better? (And redownload the same songs in the better audio format?)
    Thanks

    128kbps AAC should be fine for most users. (i.e. it's much better than 128kbps mp3). Some tracks will also be available via iTunes Plus which is 256kbps AAC.http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305567
    Click on this link:
    http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/iTunesPlusPage
    and it will tell you how much it costs to upgrade your library.
    Normally to convert music (i.e. I often reduce the quality on Audiobooks or podcasts to squeeze more on an iPod):
    - Go to iTunes menu > Preferences... > Advanced > Importing.
    - Make the settings to how you wish them and exit preferences.
    - Then select one or more files, right click and choose "Convert selection to...".
    This can't add quality though.

  • How do i make purchase at foreign non-american itunes music stores???

    i wanted to purchase a song from the german itunes music store, so i headed over there, and was told that my account was only valid for purchase in the american itunes store, but if i click the ok tab, then it will transfer over my account info, so i can start buying german songs.
    anyway, that's what i did, and at the very moment that i saw a balance on the top right corner of itunes, an error message came up and kicked me back to the american store:
    itunes could not connect to the music store. an unknown error occurred (-3237). make sure your network connection is active and try again.
    i tried again and again. the same result happened all three times, which led me to the the conclusion that i can try again and again and the same result will happen over and over. i cannot help but wonder if this is some sorta unspoken mechanism to help keep the dollars at home, instead of having the greens shipped overseas.
    can someone in the know help with my problem please? any help will be truly appreciated. thank you.

    To expand a little on what Not so techinical said, to buy from another country's store will require a credit card & billing address in that country. A gift card from that country also requires a billing address in the country. These are requirements of the record companies.

  • How to create a link to album in Itunes Music Store?

    How is this done? Would like to send someone a link to a specific album so they can purchase & download it.

    Easy. Find the album or track in iTunes Music Store, then control-click (or right-click if you have a two-button mouse). One of the options you'll see is "Copy iTunes Music Store URL". Then go to your email (or chat window, etc.) and hit Command-V to paste.

  • Disabling web browsing and Wifi Itunes music store

    We're thinking of getting a iPod touch for the kids for xmas and I'm wondering if there is a way to disable web browsing and iTunes wifi access, since I understand there are no parental controls available on the touch. Thanks

    yes there is no way to disable this icons, and the only way to do this is to put a password on your wireless router settings, this way they don't know the password and that they can not access the safari, youtube, and the wi-fi itunes music store.

  • How to Remove the iTunes Music Store Arrow?

    OK, I may be totally missing something, but how do you get the little arrow (that now shows up next to songs, albums, artists,etc) to disappear? I can't do it in view (only manages columns) or preferences or music store...
    annoying to have my homemade tracks/obscure stuff come up with that little arrow...no you're not going to have it in the itunes music store....

  • How to upload an album to iTunes Music Store ?

    The producer I work with wants to know how can deal with Apple to get the album available on iTunes Music Store ? I can't find nothing on that. Also, do they compress themselves the audio files or we can do it ourselves ?
    Thanks !

    Contact Apple via this web page.
    They’ve reportedly been swamped with requests, so don’t be surprised if you don’t hear back from them soon or indeed ever. If you don't hear from them, you might want to consider signing up with an indie label or marketing service that already has a relationship. In another post, an Apple employee said that there are 600 already, including CD Baby and IODA. A new service that seems promising if true is TuneCore.
    Good luck.

  • Can't access iTunes music store anymore!!

    I recently just added Webroot Spysweeper and Norton Anti-Virus, while I made changes to the firewall on Norton and completely disabled Spysweeper, I still keep getting an error when trying to connect to the iTunes music store with my account.
    "We Could Not Complete Your iTunes Store Request. An unknown error occurred (-50).
    "There was an error in the iTunes store. Please try again later. "
    Then if I skip logging in and just click anything such as Music, Movies, TV Shows directly, I get this error...
    "We Could Not Complete Your iTunes Store Request. The network connection timed out.
    "Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again"
    My internet connection is fine, but I can't figure out what is happening.
    Please help!!

    I can't access "Run Diagnostics." It only shows "Run CD Diagnostics." In fact, I can't even get into the Apple Discussions Support website. I am having to use my other computer to send these posts. My other computer has not been upgraded to Internet Exporer 7.0 yet and it will bring up Itunes Music Store okay, so I can see the "Run Diagnostics" you are talking about just fine. Any other ideas?

  • Will I be able to sync/copy the music I buy from the iTunes Music Store to my Nokia N8?

    I am new to the iTunes Music Store, which was recently enabled for my home country. I've set up my account and am ready to buy music. However, before buying any music from the store, I want to be sure that I will be able to sync or copy the tracks or albums between my computer and my Nokia N8. If that's possible, how will I need to sync? Using the Nokia Suite software, which is how I usually sync music? Or using iTunes? Thanks in advance!

    Music from the iTunes Store comes as 256kbps AAC. If your Nokia will accept that format, then you can transfer the tracks to your phone via whatever method the Nokia uses (iTunes itself syncs only to Apple devices). If your Nokia does not accept 256kbps AAC, then you can convert the tracks to a format the Nokia can accept. See:

    Dear Brett,
    Thank you for contacting the iTunes Music Store.
    I apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced with this issue. However, the nature of your question falls outside the type of support provided via email by the iTunes Music Store team. The Music Store team answers non-technical questions about billing, customer accounts, downloading music, and Music Store content.

  • Itunes music store not available in your country yet.

    I just did a clean reinstall of OS 10.3.5, and when I try to access the music store I get
    "itunes music store not available in your country yet.
    You will be able to browse and listen to previews but wont be able to purchase music. To browse music store, select a country below."
    So I select United States and nothing happens.
    I am in the US and have an itunes account.
    The itunes version is 4.2.
    Also, what is the highest itunes version I can use with 10.3.5?
    I am held down to this OS version because of some other software on my mac that won't work with anything higher than 10.3.5.
    thanks
    roger c.

    First, the iTunes Store has required iTunes 6 at minimum for quite a while now. So you're going to have to upgrade from iTunes 4.2. If you want to run iTunes 7, you'll need to get to Mac OS X 10.3.9. Otherwise you can download iTunes 6.0.5 here, but you won't be able to purchase movies or (I believe) videos unless you have iTunes 7. There's also no guarantee how long iTunes 6 will work.
    Second, you've posted in the iTunes for Windows forum. Normally you'll get the quickest and most accurate responses if you post in the iTunes for Mac forum.
    Regards.
