How to disable MacBookPro's Display?

For certain reasons I have my macbookpro in room B, while I work in Room A with external display and bluetooth keyboard and mouse. I know if I close the display when I power up the machine then the macbook pro display will be disabled. But I often found my blue tooth mouse is acting slowly. So I open the mbp display(nothing shows on it), the blue tooth mouse becomes better. However if I restart the mbp, the mbp display will work , and I have to go to the Room b to turn it off..... Any way or software to control the mbp's display so I can focus on my external display?

Since closing the lid doesn't have any affect on the mouse with the MacBooks I use at home and work I'm guessing that the problem is that when you close the lid the BlueTooth's signal is dampened. IF that's true then you might try fiddling a little with the computer's orientation in respect to where you are working.

I have a View Cluster maintained with a transaction wich calls SM34 passing it the Cluster.
I need the dialog be only in display mode, so i'm looking for a way to disable the button Change<->Display.
Does somebody knows how can i do this ? maybe with an event, the button does not appears or well making the button does not change the display mode (does not change the field VIEW_ACTION siwtch from 'S' to 'U')

Hi Frank,
On SAP 4.7 Version
1). Goto SHD0
2). Enter the transaction code as SM34
3). ENter the transaction Variant as say ZSM34
4). Click on the create button --> this will take you to the sm34 screen. If you want to default some value or disable something on this screen just hit enter on this screen. You will get a popup window to select and restrict.
5). You can further go to next screen and deactivate the menu. On the popup screen you will get a button MENU FUNCTIONS.

I have a 30" ACD and a 24" Dell hooked up to my Mac Pro, and most of the time I find myself only using the ACD. I normally keep the Dell powered off, but SL still detects its presence This actually creates a problem, because I invariably lose the cursor every now and then when my mouse strays off to the phantom display's side.
I don't want to have to keep unplugging the video cable on the second display to make it go away, and I don't want to keep it on constantly, only so I can know where the cursor is at all times. BTW, mirroring does not work, because the resolution on the 30" is reset to 1920x1200 (i.e., the lower of the two displays). I know I could get a KVM switch, but I'm hoping there is some setting in OS X (even if only accessible through Terminal) that can stop my Mac Pro from detecting a display that is actually turned off.

I use SwitchResX to disable one of my 24" ACD's when not needed. The program actually works quite well.

Does anyone know How to Disable "Auto Align" in [System Preferences] -> [Display] -> [Arrangement]?
It always want to align the two screens from the top when they are lined up close together and I need them to be aligned from the bottom. Since the resolution heights are so close together (1080 & 1050) it does not allow one to align side by side from the bottom as it prioritizes top alignment.
I guess I'm looking for a script to disable this feature.

You can modify the installation package using the Adobe Customization Wizard to toggle the "Display PDF in Browser" but I have not found a setting to disable JavaScript from the Wizard. I have created a script which makes the changes, but it has to be run for every user since that info is stored in the User hive of the Windows registry.
Disable JavaScript:
REG ADD "HKCU\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\9.0\JSPrefs" /v bEnableJS /d 0 /t REG_DWORD /f
Disable Browser Integration:

I am having troubles with opening a report in PDF form from a web browser, and I'm trying to figure out how to disable opening a PDF in a browser in Reader XI. I tried disabling "Open in Read Mode" and "Allow Fast Web View" both individually and seperately, and none of those combinations did the trick.

Try these steps. ( I'm using Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Internet Explorer 9, and Adobe XI )
1. Open Adobe XI
2. Click Edit
3. Click Accessibility
4. Click Setup Assistant
5. Click top radio button 'Set Options for Screen Readers'
6. Click Next
7. Do not change options on Screen 2 of 4, Click Next
8. Do not change options on Screen 3 of 4, Click Next
9. On screen 4 of 4, remove the check mark on ' Display PDF documents in the web browser '
NOTE: I checked Internet Explorer 9 / Tools / Manage add-ons and Adobe PDF Link Helper is still enabled in Internet Explorer 9.
PDF's will open in Adobe XI as you preferred and not in your brower.

Regarding the skip/force pass/force fail options, when I set the ControlExecFlow to True in Teststand 3.1 and 3.5, in the Sequence Editor the menu options for skip/force pass/force fail are not active for Technician but, when I launch the Operator Interface logged with Technician the options are active. The problem is that if the technician sets one step to one of these options, and change the user to Operator, the test step remains skip/force pass.
Is there any possibility without modifying the Operator Interface (at programming level), to reload default values of the steps when changing the user to Operator?

Landmarks display in Maps, how to disable ?

I am using Landmark feature to plan routes, and i managed to import routes from google earth as landmarks in my E71.
Three question remaining:
1. How to disable the display of the landmarks ? Once i have choosen to display a category, i do not know how to disable it again (without deleting the landmarks). Since loading of maps takes more time with landmarks active i would like to switch them off again.
2. Some landmarks are not loaded (usually around 20% of the landmarks create errormessage and do not have valid coordinates). Can not find the reason... anybody else having this problem?
3. Does anybody know how to create own symbols? The blue pin-point is to big... would like to have simply a very small point on the map.

I'm not sure if you can remove your personally saved favourites from the display. There is a choice in Maps 2.0 to enable and disable showing of certain types of "Point Of Interest":
Options>Tools>Settings>Map>Categories
But this does not include favourites, and there is no similar option under the Favourites section.

Restore, if iTunes will let you. Everything except the password will be restored. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. Be forewarned that it takes a long time. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

I'm not a hundred percent sure this will work for you since I've never used svideo out on my mac before, but if it works similar to dvi out, then do the following:
1. Set you tv up as extended desktop rather than mirror. This will allow you to set different resolutions on the internal and external monitors.
2. When you want to use the TV for front row, drag the Menu bar from the internal monitor to the external monitor in the monitors system pref. This will make your tv the controlling monitor and front row will play on it.
3. When you finish with front row, drag the menu bar back to the internal monitor.
Again, this works when I have my dvi cable connected to my tv, I'm not sure if a svideo output is treated the same way, though I would think it should be.

One improvement in Lion is Screen Sharings 'asking' of the current logged in user as to whether or not it is ok to share the screen. While I understand the need for this in a multi-user environment, this is a unnecessary level of feature for most home users. In fact, it's been a total pain and I'd like to know how to disable it. Trying to remote support parents has become virtually impossible as they are unsure as to what it means to allow screen sharing when I attempt to connect.
Anyone know how to disable this feaute and let Screen Sharing work as it did pre-lion?

Apple menu > System Preferences > Sharing > Screen Sharing > Allow access for: account you want to log into
Connect as that user.
