How to disable (not reset) bios password HP-Mini?

Is there a way to disable (not having to enter it after power on) the bios password? I KNOW the password, I can get into BIOS but I don't see an option to disable it, you can re-enter the current password and choose a new one but no delete or disabling option...??? Is there a way to disable it completly?

Got it! Was doing it wrong way leaving all spaces blank but it doesn't work because it always prompts you to enter your current password; so that's Current Password > "your current password"  hit enterNew Password > "leave blank" hit enterConfirm New Password> "leave blank" hit enter and it prompts you to "CONTINUE with save changes?" > hit enter and Password changes from <SET> to <CLEAR>; SAVE & Exit and it's done. Thank you!

  • Clear CMOS did not reset BIOS Password

OK please read my whole post before telling me to try something I already tried.
I have a somewhat unique problem.
    My system:
      MSI 870A-G54
      AMD Phenom II x6 1055T
      Windows 7
I have a system password setup through BIOS. Every time I reboot I enter the password. I have not forgotten my password.
I was having an issue getting into the BIOS, I would push Delete and on the POST screen it would say "Preparing to enter Setup" then the system password would prompt. I would enter it and then Windows would boot, no BIOS setup.
This happened over and over. I got fed up and decided to nuke the problem. I powered down, unplugged and set the clear CMOS jumper, waited about 20 seconds, reset the jumper, plugged in and powered up.
Then I pushed delete again, POST returned an error "CMOS not set, date and time wrong, press F1 for setup F2 to load defaults and boot.
I Press F1 and there is the password prompt. Only now my password doesn't work. Enter (blank) doesn't work.
So a clear CMOS again, only this time I pull the battery out too.
    Same result.
So I pull out the battery and set the clear jumper and wait 1 hour.
    Same result.
So I set the CMOS clear jumper and boot the system (yes I know the manual says not to do this) Obviously no post, 1 minute later I reset the jumper and reboot.
    Same result.
So I download the MSI HQ BIOS tool and flashed the most recent BIOS, clear CMOS.
    Same result.
My system works fine and I no longer have to enter a password to boot to Windows, but I am locked out of BIOS.
Please tell me there is a solution.
    Thank You

  • Reset BIOS Password for Omni 27-1100d

    Hi,
I try to use VirtualBox to run Ubuntu 14.04 x64 but I got this message
"VT-x/AMD-V hardware acceleration is not available on your system. Your 64-bit guest will fail to detect a 64-bit CPU and will not be able to boot."
When I try to enter BIOS Setup, it always ask for password. How do you reset BIOS Password for HP Omni 27-1100d?
From what I'm gather from internet, I can force the BIOS to reset by altering the checksum or by taking off CMOS Battery. Is there any other way? I just want to clear the BIOS password not all BIOS configuration.
    Thanks.
    PS:
I use HP Omni 27-1100d, dual booting Windows 7 (OEM) and Ubuntu 14.04 x64.

You can clear the BIOS password by using the procedure described in the motherboard specifications document. There is no need to remove the CMOS battery, which would probably remove the current BIOS settings.

Oh no, that's definitely not good news! Does this link here work? If it still doesn't work, can you provide a screenshot of the error message? I'll escalate it to staff so they can look into the issue and they'll get you back into your account as soon as possible.

    Hello Jbug0409,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you’re running into an Apple ID password issue on your iPod touch, and you’ve created another account which you weren’t able to verify because you didn’t receive the verification email.
Try resetting the Apple ID password for the account that’s already on your iPod touch as shown here:

Also, take a look at this article which provides troubleshooting suggestions that’ll resolve most issues receiving verification emails.

If using the chrome url (chrome://pippki/content/resetpassword.xul) doesn't work then delete the key3.db and signons.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder.
