How to disable on-board mic

I use a special headset designed for my ear.  When I plug this 4 pole male jack into my droid, the on-board speakers are disabled, but the on-board mic is not disabled.  The headset is wire properly, according to the droid pin-out.
How can I disable the on-board mic?  There's gotta be a way!

This would probably be a better question for the Motorola forums versus Verizon.

The reason I'm asking for how to disable the mic/line/phono in is because I WANT for my soundcard to only accept, listen, and playback through the SPDIF in channel. I currently disabled all the recording devices, and now creative only picks up SPDIF in and line in under playback which is fine but I would perfer only SPDIF in or if that isn't possible to make it the default input device that the sound card only listens to. Thanks for any assistance!!!!

  • MSI NF980-G65 - How to disable on-board video? (EVGA says to do this?) GTX260

    I need your help.
    Just upgraded my system to use MSI's NF980-G65 SLI board. I only have 1 EVGA GTX260 card right now and I purchased this board so I could add another GTX260 later this spring. The GTX260 worked on my last ASUS board just fine but the NF980-G65 doesn't see it.. at least I think it doesn't see it.  I can boot off the mother board video fine, Windows 7 x64 boots up fine but doesn't see my gtx card in the device list it does report vid as (nforce 980 sli) or something like that. When I power off and plug my monitor into my GTX260, the video does not work (the system continues to boot and I can hear the windows7 start up music), I've tried both video terminals on the card but nothing. EVGA says if my mother board has on-board video that I'll need to disable it and the card will work (I did not have to do this on my last board though, but that board was not an SLI board either). BUT when I go into the bios there is no option to turn off the on-board video? Is this right? Does anyone know how to do this or am I missing something? I've done allot of research on line and there were a few post saying that even with only one card installed that I will only use the mother board video plug only... is this right? Is windows not suppose to report my video card as being a GTX260 but as a 980 SLI? Sorry I'm new to this SLI stuff.
         MSI NF980-G65 w/6G DDR3 Patriot
         EVGA GTX260 (installed in first PCI-E x16 slot 'labeled as PCI-E2'), yes both power plugs are plugged in.
         AMD Athlon II X4
         650W PSU
         Windows 7 x64 Home Premium
    The system seems to work fine with the on-board video. I used the MSI auto updater to make sure all drivers and the bios are up to date and nothing reported back as needing updating, all though when I searched MSI's site manually there is a newer bios available but haven't dared install it yet.
    Is there anyone out there that runs this board with only 1 GTX card? Does your system see it? Help!
    THX!
    MX

    Thanks for your help guys. Still no go.
    In the "Chipset Feature" there is no disable on board VGA listed. It list these items only.
    HPET [Disabled]
    Hybrid SLI Support [Disabled]
    VGA Share Memory Auto [Auto]
    VGA Share Memory [64M]
    I've tried disabling the VGA Share memory, but on boot the mother board gives me a set of 5 or so beeps and then no video works. I have to reset the CMOS after that, so I can see the bios setup screen again.
    The above settings is how the board came stock and it's how it returns after I do a reset. I'm starting to wonder if the PCI-E slots are not functioning or my GTX260 got fried moving from one mother board to another (I'm always strapped to ground when I work on electronics). I'll go through the motions tonight to put my asus board back in and test my GTX card. If it works after the swap and you guys have no other suggestions I'll send the board back to MSI for repair.  If the board is bad then this will be my last MSI board, over the last 5 years I've gone through 3 MSI mother boards. MSI always has the features I want but I just don't have the luck with them. My last board (ASUS) doesn't support SLI or I'd still be using it... maybe it's time to go ATI and the crossfire route... I hope not, I'm a real big Nvidia fan.
    Anyhow, if you guys have any other suggestions I'd very much appreciate it. Thanks again. - MX

  • Qosmio X770-11C - how to disable on board speakers when using Line Out?

    Hi,
    Is there any way to disable on board speakers when the line out is used.
    Currently if I plug in a cable to the hadphone socket and choose lineout on the realtek control panel, the sound is output to the line out as expected but also through the internal speakers.
    Is there any way to stop this, and only have sound going out through the line out?
    thanks
    Graeme

    If you want to hear sound on headset only you must choose Headphone option.
    Disconnect cable and connect it again. When you see small window on the screen where you can choose between headphone and line out options choose headphone and you will hear sound on external device only.
    In case you have disabled this popup dialog you can activate it manually. Open Realtek manager connect external device and when you see activated black point on the right side make double click there and change settings.

  • How to disable T60p mic without disabling other mics?

    I use a headset occasionally and I want the onboard mic to always be disabled while allowing a plugged-in mic to work. Any advice?

    You can mute it with software or another simple external solution would be to plug a jack into the mic port, this will disable the internal mic. You can buy jacks at stores like RadioShack or cut one off a bad mic.
    If you want to mute it try going to control panel>Sound, double click the integrated microphone and select "recording" tab and click on "levels". You should be able to mute just that mic.

  • How to disable onboard video on KM4M-L?

    Does anybody know how to disable the onboard video card of the KM4M-L?  I tried just plugging in another AGP card, but it doesn't work.  I've gone through the bios, but can't find any reference to the onbard video.
    Another question I have is which card is faster, the onboard video or my old Viper V770 with 32MBs of ram (I know, it's ancient!)
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    The viper but not by much. The o/b AGP is disabled automaticly but your problem is your board only supports AGPx4/1.5v cards.
    Have a read through this thread (it's a P4 board but the same applies).

  • How to Disable the Lead selection Action on aTable n How to Refreh a Page

    HI....
    1)How to Disable the Lead selection Action on aTable n How to Refreh a Page r web dynpro application.
    In my case i have a table n user enters data on multiple rows in table , n i have some input fields outside of table for those Inputs fields am settiing the data  at the screen initilization(in Init() moethod by hard code).the problem is whenever the is clicking in th 2nd row of a table the Lead Selection is triggerig and the data in the Input Fields outside the table is not displayinig.
    So by removing the lead Selection Action of a table i thought i can reslove this,
    2) How to refresha page(like we click F5 on key board),is it can be done thru code in web dynpro application
    Regards
    Rajesh

    Hi,
    You did not explained what is your functionality or coding in leadselection. Is that action on leadselection is necessary for you?.
    1)If you just want to remove the action then go to table properties and remove the action for leadselection.
    2)If you still want to continue with your leadselect action, then what you can do is.. write the code in leadselection action to again set the input fields which are out from table.  That is what you did in your init method.
    Page Refreshing
    3) What do you mean by page refreshing? is that refreshing your table only or both the table and input fields.
         What I understood is you are allowing the user to enter values in table and soon after pressing a button the values should be saved and the data in input fields shld be deleted.  For this if you only invalidate the node then the user entered data will be lost.
    So what you do is after getting the input data from the user add it to a ArrayList and then invalidate the node which clears the data in input field. Finally bind the Arraylist to your node.  see the following code. This is a concept make changes according to your requirement
    ArrayList list1=new ArrayList();
    wdContext.nodeAbc().bind(list1);
    IPrivateExcelviw.IAbcElement ele = wdContext.createAbcElement();
      ele.setNo(wdContext.currentAbcElement().getNo());
      ele.setName(wdContext.currentAbcElement().getName());
      ele.setMarks(wdContext.currentAbcElement().getMarks());
      list1.add(ele);
      wdContext.nodeAbc().invalidate();
    wdContext.nodeAbc().bind(list1);
    Revert me if you have any doubts
    Regards

  • How to disable automatic resume on Satellite P100-437

    Hello to all.
    I bought recently the P100-437. In general I am happy with my laptop but there is an issue that I am trying to solve and unfortunately I can't.
    When I put the laptop in Hibernation and close the lid then when I open the lid the laptop automatically resumes windows. This has put me into troubles when I had to pass from some security checks in the airports.
    So, I am looking for a way to stop this automatically resuming on lid opening.
    It is really important to do that. Do you have any suggestions or the way this can be done??
    Regards,
    G.

    Hello idet
    I think it is time to end this long discussion. First of all you can not expect any solution because solution exists just if there is some problem. But in your case there is no problem. With simply words: no problem no solution, just possibility to avoid notebook to switch ON after opening the lid.
    I also understand what you want but something like this is definitely not possible. You will not find any setting for that. When you close the lid one small hidden switch is activated and when you open the lid the same switch lose connection and give a signal to laptop to start OS because laptop knows the lid is open.
    I can just imagine you bring your notebook to the service and they can cutoff the cable between this switcher and main board.
    I have found similar question here when one forum user asked how to disable fingerprint reader on his new Portege 400. Something like this is definitely not possible. Just cutting off physical connection can help. Maybe!!!

  • Kt7266 pro2 ver:2.0 disabling on board sound

    I jsut recently bought this board, and i cant figure out how to disable the on-board sound. i chacked the manual and it says nothing about that. The processor i have is a amd 1600+.

    Slow down guys...lol
    I think he's talking about when he is in bios, along the top It says "AMI simple setup utility version 1.50" or something real simular to that(working from memory here). But your bios version Takki is talking about, and what your really interested in is diplayed on the initial boot screen. Upper left hand corner it wil be V 3.xx
    Mine is ver3.2, I like it cause its stable and everything works, so I keep it
    Hit pause/break key a soon as system start up, on the screen where its detecting drives, processor, ram.etc. and you will see this in the top left>>>>
    Left top Logo

    MegaTrends
    A6380MS v3.2 110201
    ________^^^______
    that tells you mine is ver3.2

    I am now actively using my Mail, and recipients are forwarding back to me my Auto Reply that "I am away," but I do NOT  have a Rule set for this.

    Hi Nathan,
    I believe this message is related to the Bluetooth task BTTRAY.EXE, and I have found the following link to a forum item which describes how to prevent the pop-up message appearing :-
    http://delltalk.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=pw_input&message.id=273
    I haven't tried it myself because the pop-up message is only transitory and doesn't cause me any particular problems.
