How to disable pdf viewer?

Its so irritating when I'm trying to download a mess of files to be uploaded to a new website. I'm using Aurora 19.0a2
I've already looked in Tools > Add-ons.

I have found that all one needs to do is to go into tools/options/applications and change "Preview in Firefox" to "Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox") and you can easily change back to the previous mode.
I also actually love the Preview in Firefox, it allows you to open links in a Adobe document in a new tab and other sweet things.

  • HOW TO DISABLE THE VIEW OF CONTACT

    Hi
I want to know how to disable contact view from a friend taking my phone
exemple : If I give my cell phone blackberry 9900 to a friend for 1 day, I want for him the possibility to answer phone call and see who is calling him ! ,

    how to do this ?
    help,

You cannot selectively lock the address book app. If all contacts are sync'd online you can delete the account. However, the all around better approach would be to backup the device and do a security wipe before loaning it.

  • How to disable PDF.js built in viewer for my site

On my site PDF files are used for printing purposes. Starting with v19 visitors start start to claim that this functionality is not working any more. The cause of this is the new built in PDF viewer. It doesn't open print dialog after pdf file download if the the file is built to doing this. Also I’ve found that the quality of printing via the built in viewer is unacceptable. The content is distorted by the JPEG compression and additional headers and footers are present on the page. So for my site built in PDF viewer should be disabled at all. I've found no way to do this at the site level. I think that the instructions for disabling the new feature is too complex for ordinary users and it easier to ask them to use another browser.
I think that should be an option at the site level to disable the built in PDF viewer. At least this option should force the browser to ask the user that for working properly with this site the built in PDF viewer should be disabled. And if user choose to disable it this should be done in one click.

    @john99,
FF19 ignores your "Application preferences", described in [[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/change-firefox-behavior-when-open-file]]
    and
    [[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/view-pdf-files-firefox-without-downloading-them]]
as long as pdf.js is enabled. This is counter-intuitive and user-unfriendly. One shouldn't have to override settings (disable pdf.js) in about:config for an option configurable in the regular GUI to work as expected.

  • How to disable html view in JLabel

"As of Swing 1.1.1 Beta 1, JLabel supports multiple lines, multiple fonts, and a whole lot more because you can specify a label's text using HTML. "
does any one know how to disable this feature, so that if HTML code is entered, it wont be parsed andwhat ever was entered will be displayed, as is, on the JLabel????

I dont really have control of what is being entered.Whose program is it, then, that contains the setText() method for the JLabel? (Or creates a JLabel with some text?) If it's yours, then I don't see why you can't examine the text before you call that line of code and modify the text as suggested earlier.

  • How to disable create view options

Is there a way to disable Create view --> "access view" and/or customize in "sharepoint designer" options (since they would need a client integration) from users without writing a code. eg. from settings ?

    Hi,
Based on my knowledge, The Create view
option appears because Contribute permission level includes the "Manage personal views" permission. Remove that permission and the Create View option will go away.
For more information about disabling create view, check the following articles:

  • How to Change PDF View Presets?

Just recently, whenever I open a pdf, the little triangle arrow icons in my bookmarks bar have become HUGE, so that there are freakishly big spaces between each bookmark. So much so that it's not even worth using the bookmarks bar anymore, which is really irritating.
This might have something to do with Mac OS Maverick; I dunno.
Anyone know how to make the arrow icons small again?

    Bump.
Any ideas? Any at all...totally clueless here.

  • How to disable seeded views and personalize button on project list page?

    Hey all,
we are setting a limited user access responsibility for employees...
they will come into the team member page..
problem is if they select project list page from the drop down...
there are seeded views like profitability... we dont want anyone to see them unless they are a sr staff...
also the personalize button can allow them to pick the fields into a custom view if they desire...we need that turned off or supress certain fields from the list of fields when creating a new view... or worst case turn off the personalize button
    thoughts?? solution???

The personalization page (Shuttle bean where user selects the columns to be displayed on the table) is being rendered automatically by Framework layer and not from Product code side.Hence it will not be possible to hide fields.
Another way of achieving the objective which you detailed is : You can create the views which is secured by a function. So that users with that function security will be only able to see those views.
    Hope this helps

  • How to deploy disabled Firefox as the default PDF viewer via GPO

I am trying to change the settings of 204 Windows 7 PCs. They all use Firefox and with have Adobe Acrobat XI. I would like to know how to use the Mozilla Administrative Template or how to create a GPO to change the default pdf viewer in Firefox to Acrobat XI.

I'm having this problem too, except I'm trying to push it out to 400 PC's with 2-10 users per PC. i need a way to be able to configure it so when a user logs into the PC via our domain login Firefox will be automatically configured to open PDF's from Firefox in an Adobe Reader window, otherwise we have to manually configure it like FredMcD said, and that gets very frustrating after the 2nd PC

  • How can I disable the new built-in PDF-viewer?

    Hi Folks,
I recently got a strange problem with Nightly 15.0a1. All PDF documents are opened with the new built-in PDF viewer and it does not matter if it´s enabled or disabled - it just always opens and renders/loads the PDF file. But I want it to be done by Acrobat Reader, or save it to disk.
I tried Tools-->Options--->Applications and marked all PDF related stuff to "ask" or selected the Acrobat Reader, but it did not help at all.
Can anyone help me with this?

    Hello,
Apparently we have to wait for

  • How to disable automatic PDF previewing when saving

In a recent update, Illustrator began to preview PDF documents in the default PDF viewer after every save. This interrupts my workflow. Can it be disabled? I can't find a preference option for it. I'm not even sure how to describe it—it functions like InDesign's "View after exporting," except the file isn't being exported. And, out of curiosity, if anyone know why this would be a feature, I'd be curious. Has there been a problem with Illustrator PDFs looking different in Acrobat, Preview, or other PDF viewers/printers?
    Thanks

That does work—I should have thought of that! But I still want to change the default behavior. It seems that the view PDF option was either created or made default in a recent update. I want to set the default to not view—I almost never want to do that. Is that possible? Or do I need to save-as every time I work in an old file?
<curmudgeon> This strikes me as an improvement like "scrubby zoom," which just messes up the workflow for existing users for some marginal benefit to new users. I'm all for new functionality, but not deprecating reliable workflows for minimal or no gain.</curmudgeon>

  • How to disable Display PDF in Browser in Adobe Reader XI?

I am having troubles with opening a report in PDF form from a web browser, and I'm trying to figure out how to disable opening a PDF in a browser in Reader XI.  I tried disabling "Open in Read Mode" and "Allow Fast Web View" both individually and seperately, and none of those combinations did the trick.
    Any suggestions/help are appreciated.  Thanks.

    Hello Lloyd6770
Try these steps.  ( I'm using Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Internet Explorer 9,  and Adobe XI )
    1. Open Adobe XI
    2. Click Edit
    3. Click Accessibility
    4. Click Setup Assistant
    5. Click top radio button 'Set Options for Screen Readers'
    6. Click Next
    7. Do not change options on Screen 2 of 4, Click Next
    8. Do not change options on Screen 3 of 4, Click Next
    9. On screen 4 of 4, remove the check mark on ' Display PDF documents in the web browser '
NOTE: I checked Internet Explorer 9 / Tools / Manage add-ons and Adobe PDF Link Helper is still enabled in Internet Explorer 9.
PDF's will open in Adobe XI as you preferred and not in your brower.
    Cheers!

  • Reader XI & IE10 - how to force PDF's to be viewed in READER?

I have NO Adobe add-on installed in IE10.  Updgraded from Reader 8.1 to Reader XI.  Under Reader 8.1 there was an option in settings to force PDF's to be opened in READER instead of IE.  Cannot find that option.  Went to Settings / Manage-Add-ons to disable Adobe PDF there, but it's not installed, so can't disable it.
Any ideas on how to force PDF's to be opened in READER instead of IE10?
    Thanks!

I do not quite understand your initial comment.  You write that you do not have the Adobe Reader add-on installed on IE10, yet PDFs open in IE?
See this article how to enable viewing PDFs in a browser; you will have to do it the other way around to see the opposite effect: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/display-pdf-browser-acrobat-xi.html
