How to disable photos

I don't want Photos opening when I inserts an SD card. How to prevent this?
I am a full grown person and figure I should be the one deciding what app/program opens when. Never used iPhoto and I have no intention of ever using Photo.
Thanks!

It's a preference that you control. I have not tested it with a memory card, but I assume it works the same as for any digital camera.

  • How to disable photo-downloader for ever ?

    Hi there,
after installing Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 my PC always shows an active downloader icon in the systray. I don't want this program to run for ever (or at each startup). Even deactivating is only valid until the next reboot.
How can I disable this program ?
    Thanks for your help
    Casik

    Hi Casik,
You can disable the downloader by right clicking the icon and selecting disable. After this the icon is still visible in system tray but Downloader doe snot launch automatically.
There have been some posts in the past about removing the icon from system tray. However I have not tried the suggestions and cannot tell you for sure whether we they work.
Here is the link to one of the posts:

You can try below js code in your master page. It may help you.
Note : you have to replace GUID in below code with GUID of your document library.

    type="text/javascript"></

  • How do delete photos from iPhone but keep them on the cloud?

Is it possible to delete photos from an iPhone but keep them on the cloud? If not what is the purpose of buying extra storage for icloud If you phone can only hold up to 128gb?
finding it hard to get a straight answer on this, so maybe have to go to a local shop and find out.

    Refer to this Faq.
How does iCloud Photo Library save space on my device?
iCloud Photo Library can move the original high-resolution photos and videos to iCloud and
replace them with lightweight, device-optimized versions on your iOS device. This helps you
make the most of your device storage while giving you access to more photos than ever.
You can turn on Optimize [device] Storage from Settings > iCloud > Photos or Settings >
Photos & Camera > iCloud Photo Library on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. You will need
an Internet connection to access an original photo or video that’s stored only in iCloud.
Yes I want to know the answer too.
If I subscribe to iCloud storage but my iPhone can just hold up to 16 gb.
Why do I have to do it ? to make my iPad see photos from my iPhone?
I did try to disable icloud photo while i had 1gb photos stored in my iPhone
and wipe them out, yes ,nothing left, 0 data. but when I turn on iCloud Photo -
again. everything come back as preview photos but when I look at each, my phone
will download them all anyway. so, how can you manage space on devices actually?
if I have 16 gb on my phone , So I can see all of my 1tb photos on iCloud ?
and have enough space on the phone to do other things right?

  • How to disable MetaData Pop-Up in Aperture?

I'm new to Aperture, liking it but of course despite buying the excellent Aperture 2 guide by Ken McMahon and Nik Rawlinson there's a host of things to understand and get used to.
My current problem is how to disable the small MetaData pop-up screen that comes up when you've got the cursor over an image in the browser or the viewer. I am finding that quite annoying and hope that there's a way to disable this function.......Any clues anyone?
    Thanks in advance.

The T key toggles it on and off.

  • How to deleted photos in Photo stream?

Can anyone help me to delete photos in Photo Stream!!
    Parshwanath

    From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4486 :
How do I delete photos from my Photo Stream in iCloud?
Individual photos cannot be deleted from your Photo Stream. You can, however, delete all the photos in your Photo Stream by clicking the Reset Photo Stream button in your account at icloud.com. The Reset Photo Stream button will instantly delete all Photo Stream photos stored in iCloud, but it will not remove any Photo Stream photos that have already been pushed to your devices.
How do I delete photos from my Photo Stream on my devices?
After deleting the photos from your Photo Stream in iCloud, you can remove the Photo Stream photos from your devices as follows:
On your iOS devices, go to Settings > iCloud > Photo Stream and turn Photo Stream off. This will delete all the photos from your Photo Stream album. If there are any photos you want to keep on your device, make sure to add them to an album or save them to your Camera Roll first.
On your Mac, go to iPhoto or Aperture preferences and turn off Photo Stream. This will delete all the photos from the Photo Stream view. If you had Automatic Import enabled in Photo Stream settings, your photos were also imported to your iPhoto or Aperture Library and will remain after you disable Photo Stream. If you want to delete any of these photos from your Library, you can do so manually any time you like.
On your PC, you can remove Photo Stream photos by deleting them from your designated Photo Stream download folder. By default, this folder is located at C:\Users\Apple\Pictures\Photo Stream\My Photo Stream.

  • How to disable full screen "fade" transition?

    Hello,
Just got my new MBP and upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion in the process. Computer seems to work great, but Aperture now has this odd "slideshow" like fade when I toggle to my images in full screen. It's slow and distracting, more gimmicky than anything else. Does anyone know how to disable this?
Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere...couldn't find a thread by searching.
    Many thanks,
    David

Thanks, Leonie. It's nice to know I'm not a lone voice crying out in the wilderness! I find it hard to believe that other photographers who use Aperture for professional work aren't bothered by this feature.
My problem is that yes, a direct "cut" from one image to the other--like it used to be!--is the only practical way to compare photos...
I have tried to find ways to "turn off animations" in the Mac OS, but it seems that none of the old methods that worked with Lion worked with Mountain Lion.
I will take your advice and write feedback to Apple.
    Best,
    David

  • How to disable geotagging on 4s

Settings...general...doesn't appear to have a way to disable geotagging (on 4S).  I want to disable geotagging on my photos.

Information that is outdated needs to be updated. The "update" was for those persons with an iPhone 4s that has been updated to iOS6 that want to know how to disable geotagging. It always pays to keep up with the current technology.

  • Disable Photo Download Link

Does anyone know how to disable the download button in the albums? I looked around and I couldn't find any way of removing the button. I don't really want to have to password protect my site and only allow specific people access, but it is the only alternative I see to stopping people from being able to download my images at will. They are of course small res images, not usable for printing, but still, I'd rather not give people the opportunity to snag my work. Any ideas on how to work around this?
Any advice on these issues would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks very much.

So, I gave this a try - putting a box over the download button that is the same color as the background to mask it and it works to a certain degree. The problem with it is that the download button on that third view (the larger image with the thumbnails that scroll across the top) is in the same spot at the subscribe button on the previous page (the page that is the actual album page with all of the photo thumbviews on it). So if you put a box over the download button, it also covers up the subscribe button on that previous page, because somehow the two pages are linked. Now if you don't care if people can subscribe to your pages or not, this solution works. But, if like me, you would like to encourage people to subscribe to the feed (rather than having to send out a massive email every time a new photo is uploaded) then this method will not work.
Thanks for the suggestion though Roddy, on the basic level it makes perfect sense and is a viable work around to the problem.

  • How to disable the automatic conversion from JPEG to TIFF?

I am using Keynote '09 and Safari 4 on OS X 10.6.8, and I often want to drag and drop a JPEG image from Safari to my slides. I would like to keep the image format as is, but Keynote automatically converts the image format from JPEG to TIFF, so the .key file size becomes large.
Does anyone know how to disable this automatic conversion? Any idea? I know that I can use the original format if I save the JPEG image at a temporary location, such as ~/Desktop. But I would prefer simpler way. Drag and drop is the best.

Indeed, having the same problem here.  A simple PPT file that was 1 MB ballons often to more than 10 x the size as a KEY file.  If you rename to zip and open, one notices lots of completely useless "PLACEHOLDER" and background files that occupy several MB in total, plus some small JPGs have been converted to very large PNGs.  This is truly annoying.
A similar lack of "file size economy" is present in all applications apple produces for the ipad/iphone.  Images I uplodaded to the photo app become very large (often 10 x bigger).  WTH apple?  Be more economical!  Even my 64 GB ipad2 is starting to feel small with your waste.
