How to disable print dialog settings being saved, in the registry or otherwise?

Is it possible to disable the print dialog settings -- such as duplex printing -- from being saved after the Adobe Reader is closed? So each time the application is opened, and one prints a document, it is printed according to default settings?
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Product: Adobe Reader XI

Hi Rob,
If the above shown option is your answer for my question, it disables total print menu in the internet explorer. I am not searching for that. I am searching for solution to disable print dialog box after user pressing print option(Ctrl+p).
If not please share me particular option, i am unable to find that option.

  • Saving print dialog settings

I have a machine with adobe reader 6.0 in which different users are logging with different account.
If a administrator changes print dialog settings such as Auto rotate and center or Page scaling (Fit to page, Shrink page sizes) while printing a document, the same settings are not visible in print dialog of various users which log onto same machine.
Does AcroReader stores settings differently for different users ?
Where does it store settings in registry or a seperate settings file for each user ?
How can i have same settings (Print dialog settings) for different users ?
any help will be greatly appreciated.

It does say, "Double-sided: Yes," in Windows' printer properties for the Bizhub PS (and PCL) Fiery driver(s) -- in fact, this may have been from me turning it on for the PS driver in Windows Registry, as it was off for some reason, but seemed to make no real difference anyway -- but I think the duplexing option would have been grayed-out in the Fiery driver's dialog if not available as some various other options are -- the driver has the capability to poll the device for such options availability -- and I don't actually see anything duplexing-related on the Installable Options tab, but the Installed list is identical to one of our XP computers with no apparent issues with printing to the drivers from InDesign -- although at one point, if a Vista user printed an InDesign document and saved it (and thus the printer settings), XP users for some reason couldn't print the document without forcing a change in the print driver settings, but I believe this was due to using the same drivers but different TCP/IP port configurations per machine (Vista doesn't need the IP_ prefix as XP seems to).

  • How to set print dialog box to sync with applications

    Dear all
I am using different applications, such as photoshop, lightroom, etc. All these applications have their propper print dialog box with enhanced settings.
    BUT
after hitting the print button, my computer takes me always to the mac print dialog box, where again I can set different things: I can set paper quality, paper format, the colors...
to me it seems that the settings I have chosen in the application print dialog box are getting erased by this second set of (OS X) print-settings.
WHY DO I NEED TO GO THROUGH TWO PRINT DIALOG BOXES?
Can I omit the OS X print dialog?
    Or am I missing something?
    many thanks for your help,
    Hynek

    Thank you for this reply.
I will work around it with presets.
but just to understand this: *which dialog box is the one setting the printer* (when for example using photoshop)? is it the first dialog box, i.e. photoshop print dialog box - or is it the osX print dialog box?
if it is the second, I can skip the photoshop-one... ?
or do I need to experiment with a combination of both?
    greetings,

  • How do I know if my purchased music is being saved to the "cloud" so I don't need to do any other storage?

How do I know if my purchased music is being saved to the "cloud" so I don't need to do any other storage?

You're purchased music is not so much saved to the cloud, but rather indexed, since it is already in the cloud by virtue of being in the iTunes store.
If you want to check whether your purchases are being indexed or not, go to the purchased section on the main page of the iTunes store. There you will see a list of all your purchased items.

  • How can I access photos and videos saved to the iCloud?

How can I access photos and videos saved to the iCloud? I backed up my iphone to the Cloud but now the files are nowhere to be found.
I had to reset all content and settings in order to troubleshoot an issue. Before I did this, I backed up the iphone to icloud. When I reprogrammed the phone, I had to set it up as a new device and individually sync apps and other items from itunes. But by doing this, I somehow lost some videos and can't seem to find where they would have been saved/backed up. Can anyone offer any guidance?

You can't view photos and videos on icloud (except for shared photo stream pics).  iCloud merely sync photos between devices using the stream.  If you don't have photo stream turned on, then the only place photos in the camera roll are located are in a backup.  You would have to restore from the backup.  But be warned that many users have ended up losing their photos when performing a restore, for whatever reason.
What you should do in the future is always sync photos/videos to a computer for storage, don't leave them on a device or trust icloud to somehow store them.

I'm not familiar with the PC end of things, but in a recent post I read about someone using notes.exe to access notes (I'm assuming they knew what they were talking about) - would your installation of icloud app(s) include a notes program?  At least do this, log into icloud.com with a computer browser and look in mail.  There should be a notes "folder" listed along with the others you may have defined.  Are you notes there?  If not, that's the problem.  Be sure notes is turned on in Settings>icloud on your device.  if they are there, then it looks like the PC end is the problem - but I can't provide help concerning that.

  • How can we handle browser settings while dealing with the security ?

    Hi ,
how can we handle browser settings while dealing with the security ?When we configured security in web.xml , during the first request the container is asking for the authentication credentials once they are provided it go's on. but when the user gives a fresh request from the second window within the same browser that time it is not asking for authentication. How can we overcome this.Is there anything to do with server configurations?
How can we make the container no to keep the things or act like session?

Ya... I am taking a small example need not happen always but a kind of possibility i am thinking off.
once the user sign out and just left without closing the browser and a friend (suppose not a good friend ... just kidding...) of that user may open the same jsp or file .This time the security is breached. If that feature or property exists....
I know what you might say ... the user will log-out before leaving where a programer might invalidate the session at the time of log out.
Consider the case of a bad Programing or just a programer might forget to invalidate,At that time as a application administrator how can he solve that issue.
    Thanks.......

Hi there, if there is text in the body of the email it will print automatically when sent to an ePrint email address. The only way to just have the attachment print is for there to be no text in the email body.
Hope that helps answer your question.

  • Print Driver Settings Not Saving at Print Dialog [IDCS3, Vista]

Hi. On our only design machine that runs Vista, when the user tries to print something from InDesign CS3 and has to turn on duplexing in the printer driver setup, on clicking OK, those settings immediately go away, and thus the document will not print duplexed. It works fine on our XP machines.
A workaround is to set such printer driver settings via Vista's Control Panel, and this does work, however it's a bit cumbersome, since we print all kinds of documents.
    Pertaining Specs:
    - Adobe InDesign CS3 (5.0.3) for Windows
    - Vista Home SP1 (I think)
    - Konica-Minolta Bizhub C500
    - EFI Fiery 2.01 Driver for Vista / PostScript / Image Controller 405
It's similar to this issue, but the specs differ:

  • How do I automatically print a wavechart that is saved as a JPEG with additional text being saved in the JPEG as well

I'm trying to automatically print a waveform chart programically with out using a sub VI. From using Method 2 on this post http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/981c98819dbb89fe862569610046cfb8 I have been able to get the chart to save. However I haven't been able to get it to print automatically. I also am wondering if it is possible to have addition information being save in the JPEG, for example just some text to explain the chart a little bit. Lastly I am wondering if it possible to change the waveform chart background from black to white for the JPEG. I've attached a screen shot of my code below and I understand I'll have to add more but I'm unsure of how to do what I am looking for.
I am fairly new to Labview and am still learning but any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

  • Need to know how to save printed image settings

    Photo printing setups; when printing a picture you have to make the following settings;
    (1) Select printer.
    (2) Printer Settings.
    (3) Select paper size.
    (4) Select Type of Prints.
    (5) Select print size.
After doing this printing a draft copy or coming back a few day later wanting another copy printed.
You go to edit load the file for picture to print, select create and you have to redefine the print all over again, this even after printing a draft copy and its OK and want to print 10 copies, you have to go back to Create and completely reset up to duplicate the draft picture you just printed.
When save an edited and formatted picture all that is saved is the edited and format digital image file.
I may want to print the image different sizes, on different types of paper, but Photo Shop doesn’t allow save the printed image files setup perimeter’s and tying the different print image setup to image file.
So I have to maintain a file folder Excel files that list all the setup parameter’s need to print that uses this the image file as is primary image.
Have I missed a Photo Shop function, that does this?

I thank everyone for the inputs, most if not all has been helpful.  If for no other reason than I am not used to this type photo printing. When most printing I did over my career has been mostly l technical drawings and there most if not all, were black and white and if you got the size printed right it was fine and nobody noticed.  But, now that I have retired I have more problems than before as I am now working more in not just color, but Photo graphs.  Then of course there is the ten years of technology I messed.  How I wish for the days when a program didn’t do what you wanted it too, you write your own code to add the function.  But, now security walls and the complexity of programs today you need a team of 10 programmers’ to do that.
But, this not being able to sale the values of that print size, let alone color/shading, type paper, manufacture of paper and last but not lest printer and even its model. All of those effect color/shading of a print.  Just to day I have learned that the Application Program, OS driver and the printer can have color correction processingbuilt-n.  It’s no wonder what is on the screen doesn’t match what is printed.  And most of these color “correction” routines can't be enabled and disabled.  It is no wonder printing for one computer running the same Application and printing to two printers on that computer the prints are totally different.  At least now I know about them and know that every time I print the same image file I am go to have start all over  and work up all new printing parameters.  Use to be editing and formatting the image was 80% of the work, now it 20% of the work and printing is 80% of the work.

  • Mailbox and other printer-specific settings are saved with an Excel file

    From the KB article:

issue without the hotfix? I tried the registry entry that was mentioned in the KB article but it did not resolve the issue. Is there any other way to get Excel 2010 to ignore printer specific metadata? We do not want to have to deploy a VB script to remove

I am having a similar issue: Users are saving excel documents onto a notwork share, some are using sercure print others do not use secure print. The users using secure print are saving a document with secure print selected and when others go to print it secure
prints for them. The registry edit will solve if I go to each users machine and add the registry edit, however as we add new users to the company it would be a headache managing who needs this key setup. Is there a way for people who do not want to use secure
print to not inherit these settings? I mean the easy solution is just to have users select the printer properties they want each time they print, but I have come to terms that, that will not happen despite the issues caused.

EnableClientPrinting is set to true. You can disable client-side printing in the following ways:
Select Enable download for the ActiveX client print control on the Server Properties page in Management Studio. To open Server Properties pages, connect to a report server instance in Management Studio, right-click on the report server node,

Is there a way to enable or disable printing and export facility in the client based on report server roles. In our case some group of users only needs read access and so we want to prohibit export and print facility.

  • Adobe Reader 9.4.6: how to skip print dialog

    Hello,
in our company we implement a freestanding self-services kiosk project.
The kiosk uses a browser, which links with internal application server, which contains the required information.
There's also an option to print some documents via Adobe ActiveX PlugIn. Explored some versions of Adobe Reader, we considered that the most appropriate is version 9.4.6. We strongly needed to set Adobe Reader so that the only clickable button in upper toolbar is “Print” button, and also side navigation panel is hidden (because pdf file opens in the frame within the kiosk system page). We've succeeded with this issue.
But now we experience one more problem. When the user clicks the "Print" button, the print dialog appears. Is it possible to choose default printing settings and start printing avoiding print dialog by some standard options?
Or maybe you can provide us an event, which initiates Adobe print dialog, so that we can use it to fire the OK within java script.
    Best regards
      Anton.

Looks like you need a silent print, take a look at:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/acdc/2011/03/silent-print-in-acrobat-using-javascript.html
The steps are for Acrobat. You'll need to see if they work with Reader.
