How to Disable Rate Date in 1 OU
Hello All,
Client on 11.5.10.2 has found that someone on their system has made 'rate date' auto-populate in their system in a particular OU and they would like to find a way to disable this. (They are not aware of how or when this setup was done)
It is causing an error of 'EU02' on their Journal Import process report due to the currency conversion date not being null.
Example: receipt created on 9-May-13 - the rate date is populating as 18-Mar-13.
We have tried the following navigation's:
1. purchasing > setup > financials > currency
2. general ledger > setup > currencies
Customer found that daily rates were setup under GL and deleted them but this did not resolve the issue.
Could someone advise on where the setup may be that is causing the auto populate of rate date on a receipt?
We are interested in disabling this on only 1 OU as others may need it in the future.

Since you have deleted the rates in GL, now the exchange rates might have been NULL only at the GL level. However to have effect on the subledgers, you may need to run AUTO RATE concurrent program from your subledger ....
Try running it from your subledger responsibility for respective operating unit ...

I don't know how the device/service started communicating via 3G when the icon on the Samsung Galaxy Tab was showing as Wi-Fi connection. I am having this device/service from Verizon for over 3 years now & been using a lot & had no similar incident when using in the US.
For the fear of unintended 3G connectivity & the charges there-off, I have completely stopped the usage of my Samsung Tab in India. It has been TURNED OFF since 10/09/13. I will check to see if I can find Deny Data Roaming on my Samsung Galaxy Device. I did not find any such feature on my Verizon web account.
As, I will be back in the US by 10/28/13 - it does not make much sense to change plans for such a short time. However, I would like to know if the charges can be discounted or partially waived on a one time basis and to be considered in the $ 25 / 100 MB international data package instead of $ 81.92 charged at this time.

How to Disable/End Date an Element Link/Element in HR 11.5.7(Fam.Pack G)
We want to disable some element links that are no longer valid. These element links are assigned (element entries) to certain employees based on the eligibility criteria set (e.g. Organization/Job/Grade/etc). However we want to disable these elements from a specific date onward as they are no longer valid. I tried to end date either the element entry or the element link but I got the message "Field is protected against update".
From help the only thing I found regarding deleting an element is to delete all element entries linked to that element link and then delete all element links linked to that element to be able to delete or end date the element.
But what we need to do is only to disable the element links and not to delete them all together and lose any historical records related to these element entries.
If anyone has any idea on how to deal with this issue will be highly appreciated.

I made a search regarding elements/links and managed to find an old document (2002) regarding links and following the suggestion there I managed to end date the element links in request.
In order to end date the Element Link since it does not allow
you to make any updates you have to try to DELETE it and then select END DATE instead of PURGE.

If you are on the 7.5GB Data plan you just need to choose a plan where you keep your credit and your old plan will be removed.

Have you considered using a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN)? From what I understand, a WSN is made up of components that combine a transducer, an A-to-D Converter (ADC), and a wireless transceiver to send the data back to a central location. Although National Instruments does not make a wireless network, I know that LabVIEW can easily integrate with several of them, usually through database or VISA communication. WSNs can also be used in parallel with NI hardware, such as FieldPoint or PXI. I can't really give you any detailed specifications on a WSN system, but it sounds like something like that might work for your application. At the very least, it's a starting point worth looking into.

How to: disable buttons in standard forms

I cannot find in forms (through Form Builder) the right data block / canvas where this button is.

JacopoI'm not aware of any "session date button". A button on a form can be disabled using the set_item_property.
Use the layout editor and double-click the button. It will tell you what button it is. The button will also be highlighted in the Object Navigator window.

Disable past dates in Date Navigator
Hi All,
Can any one let me know how to disable past dates in a Date Navigator UI element in Web Dynpro for ABAP?
For example,today's date is 21-May-2010,when i open my application, i want all the dates from 1 May to 20th May to be disabled.The user should not be able to select them.

After implementing this suggestion, you are now having the Error "INVALID DATE". Sort out this error with [SAP note 1370457 WDA: DateNavigator returns incorrect values|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1370457].

We have a requirement to create some currency conversion queries. In the selection screen user should be able to give four inputs. Like given below

b) Fiscal Year

e) Date (Exchange rate will be applied which is applicable on the given date)

Many thaks in advance.You can not bring the key figures in the selection screen for the currency translation. Instead you can apply a currency translation type to respective key figures in the query definition.
The currency translation type can be defined in RSCUR transaction, where you can maintain the parameters like Exchange Rate Type, Exchange Rate Date etc.

You can do it this way
From the home screen, tap the Menu key.
Tap Settings.
Tap Data usage.
To enable mobile data, tap to check Mobile data.
To disable mobile data, tap to uncheck Mobile data.
You've now enabled or disabled mobile data.
Or you can use your pull down menu at the top of the phone and scroll over to data icon and deselect it. -

SoundTrak Crashed!! How I got my data back.
If you get the beachball during a record, by what could be the screen saver kicking in or the disk drive going to sleep (all of which should be disabled to start with), then you might get a file which shows size and a good time of creation, but it won't play or show a waveform. In fact even Audacity won't touch it. Here's how to recover the data. Hopefully you know your settings you were using, aka 48khz, 44.1 etc. For the sake of this post, I used 24bit 44.1khz AIFF sample rescue information. Bear with me.
First locate your bad file in the soundtrak pro recordings folder. Duplicate it. Note its size. Take the copy and get it to the desktop. Do not muck with the original.
Download the 0xED (thats the name) hex editing app. You can also have a dupe file of a working file from an earlier session. Your going to want to copy it as well and put it on your desktop. You'll need the header info from it.
Open your known good file wih 0xED. Highlight and copy from the beginning of that file address 0000000 thru 0000FF7 with a contrl C on the keyboard.
Open your bad file copy. They can both be opened at the same time. Highlight those same addresses and contrl V that data into your bad file. Pay close attention thats all you changed. Nothing should have shifted anywhere else. If you screwed up, cntrl Z out of that and try it again until it looks like a clean paste. Yes the data is going to be different in your paste operation as thats why your file is hosed to begin with. Hopefully you just now patched your file. SAVE the potential repaired file using the save icon in 0xED. Open our repaired file
with Audacity, or SoundTrak Pro. You should have a workable file now. If not, go back and try again as perhaps you messed something up or didnt save the repair properly. Its crucial you use data from a good file of the same settings to fix the bad one. If your not sure of the settings you used, try a couple possibilities. Most people use the same settings with only a few variations so your choices should be few hopefully. NOTE: To test your file, close out all instances of the bad file in Sountrak Pro or your new file won't chck out if it is indeed fixed. DO a fresh load of your new file into a freshly started Sountrak Pro or Audacity.
What else have I used? I used SoundHack a few times. Its a bit strange and clunky. The results are hard to nail down. I ended up with a file that played like MickeyMouse but I was able to use Audacity to cut the speed down by 50% and save the audio.
The problems I encountered to get me to this point were as described in the beginning of this write up. I had the beachball. One time Sountrak just quit without warning. Again, the data was there but just wasnt closed out properly.
I hope this saves someone from a disaster. It saved me. I never gave up.

P.S. Here's the data for an AIFF 44.1k 24 bit good file if it can be of use. You'd want to place it right over your bad file in 0xED. No guarantees. Make sure your muckng with a copy and NOT your original file...... (yes thats 4C twice, thats not a misprint)

I have had a problem with my iphone 4s for some time now but I have just been so busy to try and fix it. When I try to disable cellular data in the settings for my apps it will toggle fine, but once I exit and go back in to the cellular settings its back on again all by itself. However, even though it says the data is on, I can’t use the data when I don’t have wifi. I tried restoring my phone a few times and the last time I did that, it wouldn’t turn my service on so I had to talk with a Verizon agent for a long time trying to fix it and finally they simply sent me another phone. I thought hey new phone, this part will be fixed. However, I got my service to work but it’s still the same problem with the cellular data. I have just left it alone and not worried about it, but it’s still not fixed and thought I could ask on here if anyone had any ideas. It has something to do with the apps actually installed on the iphone. Apps like the mail, safari, settings, itunes apps, etc. All my other apps turn on and off just fine. Does anyone have any ideas?

How can I modify data from a Transparent Table (like TCURR), and important thing is I want do all that with no ABAP code here. It is like that we always do that in a Oracle database use TOAD or PLSQL third party tools, with no script code here.
I had fond that there is a way can do that:
1, type 'se11',and Display Database table 'TCURR', click Contents, then click Execute to display all data
2, type '/h' and let debugging on
3, select one of this data then click 'Display',enter in debugging system.
4, then make a breakpoint in the code. But... display a dialog let I type a 'ABAP Cmnds', I want to know what can be type in for that?

Your approach (with Vijay's suggestion) MAY work. However, depending on how tight security is at the company that you are working at you may or may not be able to acutaly change the value of the SHOW field to EDIT. This will be especially true if you are working in a Production environment. Vijay's other comment is true as well. This is not a recommended approach to change data (especially data with a financial impact like TCURR) in a production environment. The auditors will not be impressed.
Explore the option of a maintenace view or look at tcode TBDM to upload a file which includes daily rates from providers like Reuters or try tcode s_bce_68000174 which is a maintenance view on TCURR.
