How to disable 'Save to Online Account'

Reader updated from 9 to XI.
Now my file Save has "Save to Online Account".
I have a monthly maximum quota and do not have the bandwith or desire to store online.
How do I permanently disable this 'Feature'?
I've checked Preferences, Tools, and the Faqs and cannot find it.
Also
I remember updating 9 just a few months ago. The Autoupdater apparently missed 10.0 entirely and went to XI.
Does this happen often?

As I understand you and what I've read - if I don't have any account set up, a file can only go to a folder I specify, even though Save to Online account is selected (with Acrobat.com and New Account also in the dropdown list).
If that's right, 'Local Folder' would be a good option to have in the drop down list. Even if it doesn't do anything, it would stop questions like this. It could be considered a 'dummy entry".
I can use regedit. The link you sent should help. Do you know specifically which key it is, and is is there only one key involved?

Pdf from jpg with OCR asks to "save to online account"

Anyone know whether using OCR on Acrobat XI saves my data on Adobe server thru online account? When creating a pdf from jpg there is a toggle, "save to online account". I prefer not to store my data in the cloud or on any server--I save only to my personal computer. Thanks for clarifying this for me.

When you choose an online account the documents will be saved there otherwise on the local disc.

What is "save to online account" (part 2)?

I saw a very similar question on a prior post dated 11/7/12 (what is 'save to online account'?) but didn't really understand the answer. I am using Reader XI on a Mac (Mountain Lion 10.8) and when I try to save a pdf, it shows me a pull down menu where my choices are i) "Save to Online Account" ii) "Acrobat.com" (now shown below) or iii) "New Account..." (not shown below).
I simply want to save to my local drive and not on the cloud (I am saving a bank statement so want to keep it private). Even though it shows me a local folder on my computer ("taxes" in the screencap below), I still have to pick either "Save to Online Account" or "Acrobat.com". Neither of those sounds like something I'd want to select for saving something like a bank statement. (Sorry if screencap is blurry, but if you click on it a higher quality/legible picture will appear).
All in all, my question is what options do I select to make sure that the file is only saved locally (not put on the cloud or web)? Or, is there another method that I should use to save?

Correct. There is no way to ignore the choice of "Save as Online Account" or "Acrobat.com". I guess what I am trying to confirm is that if I save to the local drive (which I can do) while the menu choice says "Save as Online Account", can I be sure that the file is truly only local, i.e., that there is not a copy somewhere in the cloud? It would seem that one of the choices in the menu should be "Save locally only" (or something similar).
So, to summarize, yes I can save the file locally, but I am a little nervous about doing it because at the time I hit "Save as" either the "Save as Online Account" or "Acrobat.com" is showing in the menu. If it wasn't a file with sensitive information in it then I probably wouldn't care, but before I try to save a pdf of my bank statement locally (using Reader on a Mac), I just want to be sure that there is not a duplicate copy being put in some on-line account somewhere.

Once the PDF is viewed on a machine it is already saved there. That is why it is not possible. The only option is to not allow folks to have the PDF at all. You can disable the ability to copy information from the PDF or use SAVE as to put it in a different form without the security. Those are the security features that are available, but with the caveat that many 3rd party products ignore the PDF security and thus your efforts are not warrented if you want true security. The only way to get full security is through a fancy online (and costly) solution.

application for mobile modem (TATA DOCOMO) always asks for administrator password, in windows 7 I used to just set UAC never Prompt in admin account and same setting would reflect in standard user account and then users where not prompted for password but in
windows 8.1 single language edition I have disabled UAC in admin account but in standard account the setting for UAC was still in default (notify me when programs try to make changes to my computer), if I try to set never, the ok button is greyed out with
message saying that you must be logged in as administrator.
And Group policy editor, local security policy are not available in windows 8.1 single language.
can any one give command to disable UAC using CMD.

set registry to not prompt for admin password.

But in control panel -> user accounts -> Change user account control settings
I can set the settings to always notify
and default notify when programs try to make changes to computer.
But I can't set it to never prompt because only administrator as power to do that and if I set never prompt in administrator account the settings in standard user remains in
always notify.
so please let me know, if there is any other way to over come the problem.
Main problem is application from unknown source always prompt for admin password.
I need to disable it from prompting for admin password to run applications in standard accounts.

How can you create an online account for a family plan of 3?

I recently switched from T-mobile to Verizon and got a family plan(10 GB More Everything Plan with Verizon Edge) for my parents and myself at the store. Unlike T-mobile where you can see activities of all 3 phones, the Verizon online account is only for 1 phone (or I am not doing it right ?!!! ).
And by looking at each individual account, it doesn't look like I have a family plan sharing 10 GB data ($80 montly account access fee + 3*$15/line monthly access fee=$125), but instead each phone has 10 GB ( $80 montly account access fee + $15/line monthly access fee=$95, which totals to $95*3=$285 for the family).
Is there a way I can check to see if I have a family plan? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If all 3 phones are on the same More Everything plan, the account owner only would be able to see the activity of all 3 lines. The other 2 lines would only be able to see the activity from their own line. Have you tried logging into the MyVerizon account from each line? Possibly the line you have been logging in with is not the account owner line.
Either calling CS as indicated above or stopping by a Verizon store would be able to remedy your situation if you are on separate accounts instead of just one.
