How to disable security prompts on OS X?

How do I disable securty prompts when installing new programs? Below are some examples of what I mean. Also sometimes it asks for my password. It's very annoying. I want to turn these warnings and password promps off completely.
Thank you

I have nothing against security but this prompt is an ineffective, basically useless feature. I downloaded the program in question, I clicked on it asking for it to be installed on my computer - this means that I wish for this program to be on my Mac. These prompts are not telling me anything I don't already know, i.e. that the application is from the internet and that I want to open it. Reminds me of Windows Vista with its never ending prompts.
A much more useful feature would be a behind the scenes scan of the download file to see if it has any viruses or malware.
But once you have accepted the install, then the fault no longer lies with Apple, but with you and/or the Third Party developer, making Apple exempt from blame if you stuff up your system with it. Simple business practice for protection. Keep clicking OK all you want, but don't come back here crying if your OSX has been severly compromised. A lot of us take security of our systems quite seriously.

  • How to disable security alert  coming from ssl?

    Hello friends,
I am developing an internal site for which i am using SSL for the security of the data.
But i am getting security alert because iam using an IP address or machine short name in the URL to access it.
Any other way to disable this alert.
If it is not possible to disable the security alert can any body guide how to achieve security on the network..
Which means i want a way to encrypt any given data string with the help of java script and the output encrypted string should be given as a input to the java code(servlet) to decrypt the encrypted string to its original form.
Please any one help me with the code.
I will be very thankful to you all.
    Thanks.

While one of SSL's goals is to protect the transmission of data over networks through encryption, another goal is allow client and server applications to verify the integrity of their connections - by verifying that they are connected to whom the software claims to be. The client application (the browser as an example) does this verification by ensuring that the server site you've accessed in the URL, matches the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) in either the SubjectDN or the AlternateSubjectName extension of the digital certificate being used by the web-server to enable SSL. (Servers can also verify client software connections by asking for a client certificate; unfortunately 99.99% of web-sites do not use this little-known feature).
If the server uses an SSL certificate called "mysecuresite.company.com", and you access the server as "mysecuresite" or with its IP address, you are, essentially, tripping on the very code in the SSL library designed to protect you - by throwing up a security alert about the site you've just accessed, which tells you that the site you've accessed does not match the name in the digital certificate.
The simplest way to avoid the security alert is to use the FQDN of the web-server when you access the site. There are other complex ways of solving the problem, but the simplest is often the best. Besides, it will help to educate your users with this simple fact about SSL - you never know when this knowledge might be helpful to them.

  • Is it possible to disable security prompts on AT&T BlackBerry Curve???

Hello all. I wrote an SMS application that successfully works on my BlackBerry 8310 (on AT&T Wireless). However, everytime I run the application, I get this annoying security prompt that says, "application <my application> has attempted to access the network. Would you like to allow this?". Is there any way I can get rid of this, as it has become VERY tedious to answer this prompt everytime I run the application. I have already gone into options-->advanced options-->permissions and have set everything to "allow" for my application with no success. I've been reading up on this subject and my first inclination would be to assume that it may not be possible due to AT&T/Cingular locking down the phone via the security domain built into the handset:
However, I have read in some places that people were hacking their j2me_domain_registry.sm file with some limited success. I did not see that anyone did this with a BlackBerry though. Has anyone had any experience or know of a way to achieve this. I don't even know how to go about finding this file on the BlackBerry as all the examples deal with non-GSM (CDMA) phones and they primarily deal with Motorola V3XX series. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You should be able to get rid of this message by enabling firewall. Click on options then security then firewall. Enable and save.

  • How to disable security warning "Your current security settings put your computer at risk"

    Hi,
I wonder if able to disable the security warning bar at the bottom of the IE window.  I enabled the ActiveX control and plug-ins in the IE Option settings, this caused the  security warning "Your current security settings put
your computer at risk" pop up whenever load the pages.  Is there a way can turn off this warning?
    Thanks a lot for helping!

That is not an option for Koreans...
In Korea, most of commercial, financial, or governmental operations need to be done on the Internet. In early 2000's, IE could not support high security outside US due to US laws (that was stupid, but happened) , so Korean sites developed cryptography ActiveX
controls to circumvent it. Korean government made laws to force all sites to use those kind of ActiveX controls at that time.
A decade has passed, and now the stupid US law has been repealed. But the cryptography ActiveX industry has become so strong (probably bribing the high officers in the government), that all Korean sites are still using those kind of ActiveX controls. And
you know, they require Windows and IE. Recently some sites started to support other browsers, but still the majority requires IE and ActiveX.
So, if you live in Korea, you have no choice but to use IE on Windows to get things done, and almost all sites popup ActiveX installation dialogues constantly. If you do not change the security settings, when you approve the installation, the whole site
refreshes. That is time-consuming and frustrating.
To keep my mental heath, I deal with all Korean sites in a virtual machine. To avoid the refresh problem, I have changed the security settings from "prompt" to "enable". The "Your security is at risk..." banner at the bottom
of IE is surely annoying. I hope Microsoft let us either remove that banner or remove the support of ActiveX controls altogether.

  • How to disable security message

We use both JRE 1.6.0_20 and 1.5.0_10, therefore anytime an app is started it displays a "Java Security Warning" message:
    Name: WSApplet
    From: http://<servername>
"The required version of Java, 1.5.0_10, is not the latest and may not contain the latest security updates."
And then there are two buttons: Run and Cancel
I want to disable this window and automatically select "Run" and distribute this fix across our 1000+ computers.

No local copy needed (well, browser cache probably stores the rewritten html).
