How to disallow remove trust profile

How to disallow remove trust profile and Remote management profile

Like you, I don't understand Apple's logic in allowing users to unenroll their devices from the user portal.
This seems ridiculous, as does the entire idea of 'self-enrollment' of devices. I don't trust that out of the goodness of their hearts, my users will go to the self-service portal and enroll their devices so that I can lock them down...
But anyway, one possible solution is to not enroll devices from the self-service user portal. Instead, create your own enrollment profile in Profile Manager. You can then email it to end users who can use it to enroll their device, or if you're making images with SIU to deploy with NetInstall, you can create a workflow that includes configuration profiles in the image. When the machines boot, they will presumably enroll with the server for management. These profiles can't be removed from the user portal.
I say presumably because I haven't tested this. But I have tested enrolling devices with an enrolment profile created ahead of time in Profile Manager. Some drawbacks: it will not display a username associated with a device, it only shows the serial number. I don't like that. Also, when you enroll a device with an enrollment profile you created in Profile Manager, the device appears to not be enrolled when you visit /mydevices. Also annoying, so for now I enroll all devices myself.

  • How do I remove cmyk profiles from a pdf. and keep it strictly 2 color process?

My company is trying to outsource a booklet to an offset printing company. We are strictly digital printing, and I honestly have no experience with offset. In the past I would build the documents with the pantone colors that were needed in whatever software I was using to create it (Illustrator, Indesign), do my checks and fixes in Acrobat and send it to the printer, and it would get done. The current printer is having an issue with the files that I'm giving him. He says, that the files contain CMYK profiles, and has to strictly be 2 color process. The file is pointing to the correct spot colors, but it does still does contain the CMYK profiles, list I have no idea how to remove the CMYK profiles, I can convert them to RGB, but that doesnt help. How do I remove these profiles and make the PDF strictly use spot colors, or does this not make any sense, Honestly it doesn't to me.

Honestly it does not to me either.
You have a history of creating spot color files - but are using a new vendor...what I'm hearing from the vendor doesn't make sense
...do my checks and fixes in Acrobat and send it to the printer, ...
Have you checked the PDF - verified that your Spot colors are Spots, not cmyk builds?
The current printer is having an issue with the files that I'm giving him. He says, that the files contain CMYK profiles, and has to strictly be 2 color process.
Communicate very clearly  - cmyk profiles or cmyk elements?
To my limited knowledge, every file will have a profile - it's a moot element in spot color printing -

How do I remove extra profiles from color mangement in Print Module?

If you're talking about the "short list" then click on other and then uncheck the ones that you don't want displayed. If you're talking about the long list, then you will have to browse to the folder containing the profiles and then delete them manually.

  • How do I remove proofing profile

I am waiting delivery of a new printer. I want to remove all of the profiles for my old printer from the proofing profile drop down menu. I looked in the Library under color sync and found a few profiles, but I cannot locate most of them.  How do I remove the ones I no longer use.

I looked in the Library under color sync and found a few profiles, but I cannot locate most of them.
In which library did you look?  The system Library or your user library?
Color profiles may be installed in the System Library, at the top level of the System drive:
    /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/
In your User Library in your Home folder: ~/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/
In the Application Support folders, for example the profiles installed by Adobe:
    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Color/Profiles/
    or look at the "Printers":
    /Library/Printers/Canon/BJPrinter/Resources/ICCProfiles/iP3500series_unif.canoni cc

  • How do I remove a profile account from one computer without deleting the data?

Hi! I want to delete mozilla from one computer and remove my profile account so that all of my data on this computer is deleted. But I use the same profile in mozilla on another computer and I don`t know if my profile will keep the data stored on this computer after deleting it in the other one. Can you please clarify this issue for me. Thanks!
    Best,
    Vanya

If you want to delete your personal data on a computer reliably then you would have to perform a secure wipe to clear the data on the hard drive.
Otherwise Windows will only mark data as deleted.
Best is to disconnect from Sync before deleting data on a computer to avoid other computers from getting affected.
You can use the Profile Manager to remove a profile.

  • How do I remove a "profile"?

My work recently (finally) started supporting iphone/ipads. And they gave us DIY instructions, to connect to the exchange server, etc. During one step we had to navigate to a website, and click a link. It then warned us it was going to install something, and asked us to set a passcode. The instructions they gave us did warn that once this was done, it couldn't be undone (without a factore restore)
Well, I didn't realize what I was installing. Now my phone requires a device passcode, with a lockout interval of 5min. And not just a 4 digit pin. It has to be an 8 character letters/numbers/caps/symbols passcode.
Forget it. I'm not willing to put up with that. I don't need my work email on my phone that badly.
I noticed now in settings>general there is a new section called "profile", that wasn't there before. How do I get rid of it?? I want to get rid of the whole thing. I asked the help desk at work. Their helpful advice 'to delete an app, press on it until it wiggles'.
    Really??
When I said that didn't work, she suggested contacting Apple. (nice to see such an informed IT department, but I digress.)
I have already restored it from a backup, but, I had synced the phone after the installation, so I guess the backup isn't old enough? Even after a total factory restore, it's still asking me to create the long passcode.
How do I get rid of this???
    There must be some way...
My itunes only shows the most recent backup, so I'm not sure what else to do... (and if I could go back to an older backup,
right now the phone is telling me I must create a passcode within 60 min (now down to 14). I'm hoping that if I just DON'T create the passcode, it will deactivate those features, but I really don't know. Hopefully it won't just brick the whole phone.
When I first added my exchange account, this summer, it forced me to add a 4 digit simple passcode. That I could live with. But having to enter this 8 character nightmare every 5 min is really untenable.
    Thanks for your help!

"The instructions they gave us did warn that once this was done, it couldn't be undone (without a factore restore)"
That is from your first post.
In order to provide security settings that satisfy most workplaces, Exchange and ActivSync install a profile that determines all security settings on the iPhone, lets them control what can be placed on the iPhone, gives them the capability to wipe the iPhone, etc. If there was an easy way to remove this and get around it then there wouldn't be much security present. Hence the warning. If these things weren't acceptable to you then you should have stopped at that point. Your employer cannot send another profile that is removable that would then allow you to remove the other one.
If you restore from a backup, as you have discovered, you will restore the profile, etc. You will have to restore it as a new phone then set up your sync to reload your music, pictures, apps, etc. from your computer.
You will lose your voice mails, settings, text messages doing this, so you need to move them to your computer to save them. This application will accomplish this: http://www.ecamm.com/mac/phoneview/
No, it is not free, but it is handy software to have around. After you move the items you need from your device do the Restore as New, set up your sync setting and put all your media back on, then use phoneview to put your voicemail and texts back on the device.
If you picked up your contacts from your Exchange server you may not be able to retain those.

  • How do I remove a profile from my iPad?

I bought my iPad from my school when I graduated. Being a school iPad, it has restrictions that I can't remove and it seems to be because of the profiles that are on it. I really just want iMessage back, which I can't do unless the profiles are gone. Like I said, it's no longer the schools iPad, so this isn't breaking any rules or anything.

If you cannot restore because the iPad is asking for a passcode, foloww the instructions here:

  • Since I have upgraded to Firefox 4.0.1, it has been constantly freezing up. Now it does not work at all and I am unable to remove my profile. How can I remove my profile if Firefox does not work?

I finally got so tired of Firefox freezing my computer that I tried to uninstall and reinstall. Upon reinstall, it will not work at all and I am unable to delete my old user profile. Is there any way to get rid of this profile so I can give one last attempt to get Firefox to work before switching permanently to Google Chrome? I really liked Firefox for years until they screwed it up with the recent changes.

Try running Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.

I recently got a new Iphone 4 and wonder how I can remove the profile for the 3Gs in Itunes? It still shows up in such things as Find my Iphone and such.

If you are sure you won't need the old iPhone's backup, you can delete it using iTunes > Preferences > Devices.

How can I remove the GiffGaff profile so that I can install another or change the APN settings?

Installed as described in http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Settings-for-your-device/Internet-and-MMS-setti ngs-APN-guide/ta-p/3489121#faq_no_2. All I did was use a pre-paid Sim - are they allowed to lock my phone - it was previously unlocked - I do not understand.

  • How can I change the organization information on my trust profile?

I'm re-configuring Lion Server for a company who has changed their name, domain, etc.
I have everything updated SSL cert, Code signing cert wise to their new name.
However, the trust profile still has the OLD organization name. How can I change this?

Go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings
The give him the iPod. It it already has iOS 5 he can set it up via iTunes/USB or wifi. It not then his has to set it up via iTunes/USB. If the iPod is a1G or 2G iPod make sure the iPod is connected to a charging source since the erase can take hours.

  • How do I remove unwanted entries in the Profile Manager window?

Can anyone please explain how do you remove irrelevant entries in the Profile Manager dialog? Since I have both 4.0 and 3.6 installed, each with two profiles,I use to launch secondary profiles with the Profile Manager via a command line instead of a specific shortcut, and the dialog window always shows all four options, regardless of what path I enter : is it possible to clean up the dialog window,so that only the 4.0 profiles are displayed when entering the path to 4.0 profiles, and so on for 3.6,without actually risking to delete any profiles? BTW,4.0 profile folders are stored in a different directory than 3.6,and the 3.6 profiles were accessed with the Profile Manager window (no shortcuts to specific profiles at the time) before installing 4.0

The Profile Manager is for all versions of Firefox you have installed - every Profile that is listed in the '''profiles.ini''' file will appear there. The location of the Profile folders has no effect on what the Profile Manager dialog window shows. There is no way to set it up relative to one program installation.
Best thing to do is to have separate desktop shortcuts for each Profile / Firefox-version you want to use.

I don't think you can remove your email.  If you are concerned about privacy make sure you have it set so that you are the only one who can view it. You do this under the privacy settings under Your Stuff - Profile  " If you want to change your email you can go here to make changes.

  • How can I add the "Profile Removal Password Payload"  to a configuration Profile?

How can I add the “Profile Removal Password Payload”  to a configuration Profile?
I’m not seeing an option to add this option when I edit the configuration profile within Apple Configurator.
Do I have to edit the configuration profile(xml file) within a text editor?
    FYI:

    Profile Removal Password Payload
The Removal Password payload is designated by specifying com.apple.profileRemovalPassword value as the PayloadType value.
A password removal policy payload provides a password to allow users to remove a locked configuration profile from the device. If this payload is present and has a password value set, the device asks for the password when the user taps a profile's Remove button. This payload is encrypted with the rest of the profile.
