How to disconnecting render files?

Hello,
What is the best way to disconnect render files? I want to re-render some stuff but keep the old render files in case. In FCP under modify there is "make media offline" is there anything like "disconnect render files"?
Thanks,
Lela

Render files have a very tenuous relationship to specific points in the time line. It is not reasonably possible to link your reading of a render file name to a particular point.
Still, having said that, go to the location where you have told FCP you want render files to be located and move or copy all the ones you want to keep. Just recognize you will not likely be able to ever reconnect them if you make the slightest changes to the timeline.
cheers

    Hi,
You will have to encorporate the upload logic in the front end.
Probably you can encorporate the server side logic in the caf.

  • How to "disconnect" opened file from current connection?

    Hello guys,
    I have this problem:
Lets say I have one SQL Developer opened, and I am connected to two different servers. Now I open a file (package body) from my hard drive and it will automatically connect to one of those opened connection. It will connect probably to the newest connection...
The problem is I don't want to connect the file to any connection because I want just to modify it using SQL Developer editor and save it back to my hard drive. I don't want to compile it by accident !!! How can I do this?
The only way I found is to open another instance of SQL Developer, do not open any connection and open the file there...
    Thanks for help

AFAIK it's not possible, but I rarely work with file based procedures so there may be some tricks I'm missing.
If you want you can add a feature request to the exchange.

  • After Effects CS6 - render files huge!

Ok I am tying myself in knots here.
I have a 7 second text animation on a plain background in After Effects CS6 which I want to export so I can use it in Premiere Pro CS6 withan alpha channel so i can superimpose it over video. The file is 1080P 25 because that matches my video. the first time I rendered it it came out at 89Mb which was fine. But I wanted to tweak the text positioning so I did that - now every time I render the file is around 1.5Gb!
I am using Windows so i can't render Quicktime with an alpha channel which means I have to use avi but what settings should I use? (Avi is the only format which allows me to export RGB + alpha).
I have to say that I have used many video programs in my life but I find After Effects the single most unituitive piece of software I have ever encountered. Why can't it give you an indication of how big your render file is likely to be to gvie youa t least some clue as to what settings to use?

    That is not correct.
You can install QuickTime on Windows and use QuickTime for output from After Effects.

  • DISconnecting clips from render files?

I've forgotten how to do this - disconnect the clips on my timeline from their related render files.
I've got an 8 bit uncompressed timeline onto which I've put a combination of DV footage (from camera) and uncompressed movies (from Motion).
I want to export without first 'rendering' the timeline. But I"ve rendered a good chunk of it to see if it is playing properly. So how do I 'dis'connect the clips from their render files?
    Ben

    Ben:
Do you mean deleting the render files? You can use the Render MAnager or just go and trash them manually from the Render Files in the scratch disc.
    Hope that helps !

  • How to view FCPX Render Files?

To start with a simple question: In what format does FCPX store render files? I used to be able to view them in Quicktime with older versions of FCP. How can I view these files in FCPX? These are the sort of large files that show up in your "High Quality Media" folder with names like "Frame 28672 - 29695"
I had a catastrophic hard drive crash. The footage was lost but some fairly recent render files from the project were on a separate drive and remain intact. I also have the project file. Isn't there SOME way to fool FCP into showing these render files in the sequence and letting me at least view them (in sequence) in FCPX and then perhaps somehow, even if it's just real-time recording from a screen-capture program or by outputting through the display port, retrieve some of the lost footage? I don't need the audio, FYI.
I would extremely, extremely grateful for any help.
    Thanks,
    PBW

If you select an event instead of a project, the command reads "Delete Event Render Files...".
You can select more than one event and delete the render files for all the selected events.

  • FCExpress Render Manager .... How do I 'manage' render files?

How can I easily delete rendered files in FCExpress HD v3.5?
(Other than traipsing into the Finder, hunting down the render files, "Guessing" which render "file(s)" are the ones I want to delete, then delete them (only to then get the "you're missing files/media" dialog box)
I had set the sequence settings to 50% & 50% on the render and resolution for editing. I now want to 100% & 100% the sequence for the Final Cut (pun intended), there doesn't seem to be a mechanism in FCExpress HD v3.5 to delete just that sequence's render files.
Changing the sequence settings doesn't "clear" current renderings under the former settings.
    Background:
Thing is, I upgraded my hardware to an iMac Core Duo 17" and "downgraded" my video editing software from FCPro HD v4.5 to FCExpress HD v3.5.
Good news is, all my FCPro HD v4.5 files "upwardly" converted to FCExpress HD v3.5; hmmm... FCExpress v3.5 is "newer" than FCPro HD v4.5 .. works for me!
The flustrating news: FCExpress (including HD v3.5) doesn't seem to have a Render File Manager option as such FCPro has the Render Files Manager to manage rendered files; specifically, you can choose to delete rendered files so you can r-erender.
Apple, I had better not have just spent tons of money to be forced to have to switch to the Finder to hunt down and guess which render files belong to the specific sequence I want to rerender.
    iMac Core Duo 17"; 1.5GB   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

As far as I know there is no render manager in FCE however as you rightly note every time you re-render a clip it replaces the old render file.
Further, ANY change you make to a rendered clip requires the file to be re-rendered (with the notable exception of changing preference settings as there are not clip specific).
Thus a workaround: Make an entirely irrelevant change to the clips in your sequence (like a 10% opacity shift. Render the sequence. Change it back to 100%. Re-render.
My assumption is that the clips will re-render with the new preference settings.
Unless there is a better way?
    M.

  • Color crashed after render.  How do I reconnect files?

    Hello,
I have a large film project that I left rendering in color overnight.  When I opened it today the program crashed.  I opened Color again and none of the renders are connected.  I can see the render files though in a folder on the desktop.  Is there a way i can re connect them so I don't have to wait another eight hours for it to do it again like you can in final cut?
    thanks!

Okay - I started with a DV-NTSC Quicktime File on "Drive A." I imported this file into FCE, and dropped it into a sequence. The file needed to be rendered (to DV Stream I assume), which took most of the day (18 minute movie). The render of course went into the "Render Files" folder on "Drive A."
Then, after finishing the project on the road, I moved the rendered file and the original Quicktime DV-NTSC File over to the drive I normally use for FCE Projects ("Drive B"). To be specific, the project name was called "RF-FINAL," so I took the folder named "RF-FINAL" out of the "Render Files" on "Drive A" and Moved it to the Render files on "Drive B."
I then reassigned my Media Drive in System settings from "Drive A" to "Drive B," opened the project, and relinked the media. The project had no problem relinking the music (aiff) files, but for picture and dialogue (rendered from the DV-NTSC Quicktime original) FCE asked to relink the media to the ORIGINAL QUICKTIME FILE, not the rendered (DV Stream) file that it had taken all day to create. I am unable to figure out how to make FCE point the Original Quicktime FIle to the rendered file it created. Does that make sense?
When I try to drag the rendered file from the "Render File" folder into the project, I get all sorts of error messages.
    Any ideas???

  • How do I get FInal Cut Pro to save the render files?

Final cut used to work really great, but lately it has stopped saving any render files, so ever time I try to edit something new it starts re-rendering all of my other files and slows it down to the point of crashing a lot. Is ther any way to fix this or get it to NOT render things that I am currently not editing?

Can you see the render files in your project folders? FCP X does not stop rendering by its own choice, check your preferences, as Tom suggested, and restart FCPX to see your settings taking effect.

  • How can I omit FCPX Render Files from a Time Machine backup?

I want to be able to add my Final Cut Projects and Events folders to Time Machine, but annoyingly Apple have decided to put a Render Files folder within each and every Events folder.
Is there a way of moving the folders to a different location on the hard drive, such as a Caches folder? Or is there some way of telling Time Machine to ignore folders containing the words "Render Files" (using some kind of script perhaps)?

Backups For FCP works like Pro Versioner, only backs up project files, not the media.
CCC will work over networks.  I have it running on enterprise systems for my consulting clients.  It is a fully professional level backup solution.  TimeMachine is a hobbiest, end user app, and doesn't have the control and flexiblity as CCC.
TimeMachine backsup ever few minutes, when things change, and eats up processor resources constantly.  CCC can be scheduled.  So many advantages of CCC over TimeMachine.  One is professional, one is hobbiest, that is basically it.

  • Render files hidden away - but where?

I have a laptop with several firewire external drives connected. I rendered a sequence in FCP5.04. I was told there was no more space on the selected hard drive, even though there appeared to be more than 6GB of space. Cancelling the warning and restarting the render several times eventually succeeded in acheiving the render. I now disconnected the laptop, and opened the same project from my desktop machine, which was now connected to the same external hard drives. I was told several render files were offline. The expected location of these was given as:
Laptop HD:Applications:FinalCutPro.app:Contents:MacOS:and then a folder with the project name
But where on earth is that? "Final Cut Pro" in the Apps folder is the app pure and simple - it does not have any folders with it. Searching with Spotlight found nothing.
However, if I now network my laptop into the system and relaunch the project, FCP finds those files on the Laptop HD and does not ask me to reconnect. Needless to say, launching the project from the laptop always finds the files.
I want to move the files to a location which is not on the laptop. How do I find them?
    Many thanks
    John

Locate your Final Cut Pro application. CONTROL-CLICK on it and select SHOW PACKAGE CONTENTS. Now you can find the render file.
    Odd bug this.

  • Project cannot open: "Searching for Movie Data" in render file

My feature-length project suddenly stopped loading today, pausing at 47% to complain that a bunch of render files are missing, and that "this movie cannot play without the file..." I've seen these error messages when trying to open Quicktimes that refer back to files that no longer exist, but not when trying to open an FCP project file. My autosaves are giving me the same problem. The render it lists is "Rough Cut" something or other, which refers back to sequences I haven't used in weeks.
I've done the usual fixes: restarting, throwing out preferences. I ran FCPRescue. I opened a blank project and did a Render Manager dump. I did a Render Manager dump earlier today (as part of my workflow), but didn't have any problems at the time. I don't know how to get around this, and I don't know why those files are supposedly missing.
There's an earlier post about the same problem, but he didn't find a solution. Thanks for any and all help!

It sounds like you used a reference quicktime in your project and the media that the quicktime referenced is deleted or that the system has some how or other lost track of it. This can be a tricky problem to fix. Andy's advice may get you up and running, but you will still be unable to work with the problem quicktime. I always try to export selfcontained qt's because of this potential problem.

  • [Tutorial] How to Disconnect Spotify from Facebook

How to Disconnect Spotify from Facebook
This is not an officially supported Spotify workaround.
It seems to be a common request on the community to want to disconnect accounts from Facebook.
If you wish to do this, then follow the instructions below closely.
Please note: It is highly recommended that you log in and cancel your subscription IF and ONLY IF you are planning to deactivate your Facebook and you have Spotify account created with Facebook , as once you have done that, you may not be able to log in to cancel. You may also want to log into your online profile and set all the email notifications to "Never" to stop Spotify sending you emails on that account.
This serves as a "Do It Yourself" guide since it is the fastest way to disconnect from Facebook. If you have a premium/unlimited subscription or would rather have someone at Spotify assist you in doing this, don't hesitate to get in touch with customer services instead using the online contact form.
    1.  Check your account type.
The method of how to disconnect from Facebook depends on how you originally created your account.
If you have a dedicated Spotify username and password, then go to step 2a.
If you created your Spotify account using Facebook, and therefore log in using your Facebook email address and password, go to step 2b.
If you log in using Facebook normally, but are unsure if you created your Spotify account using Facebook or a Spotify username, log into your online profile using your Facebook details. If you see a username consisting of ten digits you're likely using a Spotify account created through Facebook. and need to go to step 2b.
    2a. Disconnect from Facebook.
Since you have a dedicated Spotify account, disconnecting from Facebook is easy.
    In the desktop client:
Windows - Go to Edit > Preferences > Social Network > Disconnect from Facebook.
Mac - Go to Spotify > Preferences > Social Network > Disconnect from Facebook.
Once you have done that, your Spotify account is no longer linked to Facebook, you need not continue any of the steps below.
You may find due to data caching in the client, that you still see Facebook information (such as the People list) hanging around, a quick clean reinstallation of the application should fix that for you.
If you can't see the option to connect/disconnect, then you are logged into a Spotify account created with Facebook not a dedicated Spotify one.
    2b. Create a new account.
Disconnecting from Facebook is not possible if you have a Spotify account created with Facebook.
You can obviously select not to share your activity on Facebook from the Preferences menu, however, if you wish to completely disconnect then read on.
If you wish to stop using your Spotify account created through Facebook, then you will need to create a new dedicated Spotify account from the signup page which should now be available in all launch countries. Once you have done that, make sure to note down your new Spotify username and password and keep them in a safe place. Continue to step 3.
The easiest and quickest way to move your playlists from one account to another is explained in steps 3 and 4. Since there is no way to directly transfer playlists from one account to another, this process subscribes your new dedicated Spotify account to the playlists on your old Spotify account created via Facebook.
    3. Backup Playlists
The easiest and quickest way to backup your playlists is to sign into your Spotify account created with Facebook and simply drag and drop them from the left sidebar of the desktop client onto your desktop, or into a folder. This will store links to those playlists locally.
    4. Restore Playlists
Log into your new dedicated Spotify account, created in step 2b.
Now, drag and drop your playlists from your desktop (or folder) into the Spotify client, and they should reappear. These playlists won't be editable, since they are still "owned" by your old account. However, once you have got them into the client, if you want to make them editable you just need to make a new Playlist (File > New Playlist) and then copy and paste all the tracks from the uneditable one into the new one. You can also drag a subscribed playlist to the "New Playlist" button which will instantly copy the playlist and make it owned by you (Thanks Stupify for this awesome tip!)
The fastest way to highlight all the tracks is to click on the playlist, press Ctrl/Cmd+a and then press Ctrl/Cmd+c to copy them. Then navigate to your new playlist and press Ctrl/Cmd+v to paste. Continue to step 5 (if applicable).
    5. If you have an unlimited/premium subscription…
There is no easy way for you to transfer an unlimited/premium subscription from one account to another.
The simplest and fastest way to get back up and running is to simply unsubscribe from the subscription page on your old Spotify account created using Facebook and then resubscribe on your new account. I would recommend you cancel and then use up all your remaining premium days on your old account before you subscribe again, you have already paid for them!
6 (Optional). Request the removal of your Spotify account created using Facebook.
If you wish to request your Spotify account created through Facebook be disabled then please read and follow the instructions in this topic.
I would strongly suggest that if you do not do this step, that you at least log into your online profile on your old Spotify account created with Facebook and set all email notifications to "Never" to stop Spotify sending you any emails.
Once you have completed the required steps above, you should have a complete Spotify account which is not in any way connected to Facebook.
    Happy Listening!
    Peter
If you have any issues with your account, or in following these steps, then the Spotify team will be happy to help, just drop them an email using the online contact form.
I do not work for or in anyway professionally connected to Spotify.

    Hey :)
    Did you read step 1?
If you created your account using Facebook, you won't have the disconnect from Facebook option, since your account is tied to Facebook. In that case you will need a new account as described in the tutorial.
