How to display a default value in dropdown by key
Hello All,
Can someone advise on how to achieve the above ? I know that I can do it using : wdContext.current<Name>Element.getDescription("Food");
However, can soneone show me how I can do this by using the <u><b>key value</b></u> instead of the description ? Thank you.

My requirement is like the end user has to get the report based on whether he want dept wise or supplier wise
so

this is what i've given in the data set
the user gets report data based on either dept wise/supplier wise..
so I've given query in lov as select distinct dept_no from dept and select distinct supplier from suppliers for the two parameters supp and dept and the type as menu...
so I can see the values like (list of query generated values... ).. I want to do this thing like I want to display 'select' in that list...
is it possible?... Please let me know, if possible..
it should show like dept:select,101,102,103,104....) -

I have Webdynpro for ABAP application that shows a DropdownwithKey UI element.
1. I am able to populate the dropdown list. But by default the list is not showing any value. Only when I select a value from the list then it shows it.
So how to set the default value to the first value in the list? Any code sample will be really helpfull.

GopalI am not sure how it works in Web Dynpro for ABAP, but in Web Dynpro for Java to set default drop down value you will have to set the value for particular attribute (which is linked to the dropdown element) in the context
like
wdContext.currentContext<nodeName>Element.set<FieldName>(<defalut value>)
This generally done in Initialization method of the controller. -
How to read the default value for a Registry Key
I am trying to use webutil 1.0.2 Client_win_api_environment.read_registry to read the client registry key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.xls, but the function is raising no_data_found. I can read the registry key in Regedit. I am logged on as myself as a non-admin NT user.
P.S: The Client_win_api_environment.read_registry can actually read HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\FORMS90_PATH because FORMS90_PATH is a registry ENTRY, whereas .xls in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.xls is a KEY, but I still need the DEFAULT value of the key and it does NOT seem to work with client_win_api_environment.read_registry

You have to give Distribution Key "1" in the Plannner Profile as well as if you take a column for Distribution Key seperately in your Planning Layout for Cost Element Planning, in the Excel file, you can give Distribution Key as "1" in the respective column. When you upload the data through Excel, the system will take the DKey as "1" only.

How to Change a Default Value from 'High' to 'Low' in a Drop Down Box for RANGE field displayed in Standard Web Dynpro Component. I saw a Default Value set for a RANGE field in View Context When I select that field and click on Display. I am seeing Default Value set it to 'HI'. Please let me know how to change from HIgh to Low.

The issue is caused by the order in which the parameters appear in the report data tab can be difference between our report execution and it failing. In other words, “Parameter2” is execution before parameter “A” due to this issue. We can adjust the parameter’s
order to solve the issue.
If “Parameter2” is parameter “A”, we cannot use that expression. Because fields cannot be used in report parameter expression, if we want to display the first value returned from a query as default value, we have to fill the “Specify values” text box with
the specific value in Default Values dialog box.

How to set a default value in my DropDown using the key ?
Hello All,
Can someone advose how I can achieve the above ? I will like to know how to select a default value for the dropdown by key using the key value instead of description.
The reason why I need to do so instead o fusing description is because my application will populate the dropdown using web services based on the language selection. Hence, if I were to set the default value using description, den other languages will not work anymore.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you !!

We needs to use Search help BBPH_PRODUCT which having parameter PRODUCT_TYPE
Here we can set defalut value 01 but it is not correct one since same search help is using several places.
We need to limit the search help results only for SC.
Kindly help out me ASAP.The easiest way to set defautl values is to edit the batch class.
Goto the characteiristic and go to update values.
In here you probably have something like 0 - 100 as a spec range.
On the next line enter the default value within this range. At the end of the line, click in the box in the column labelled "D". This indicates the defautl value for the characteristic.
If you need to you can do this in the material classification view as well.
Just to be clear, these values will only show up in the batch record. You can not have defautl values in resutls recording screens.

raniI am not sure how it works in Web Dynpro for ABAP, but in Web Dynpro for Java to set default drop down value you will have to set the value for particular attribute (which is linked to the dropdown element) in the context
like
wdContext.currentContext<nodeName>Element.set<FieldName>(<defalut value>)
This generally done in Initialization method of the controller. -
Remove default value from dropdown list
I am currently working with Acrobat XI Pro version. I want to know whether it is possible to remove the default value from a dropdown list.
When the list has less than 4 items, it is possible to deselect the default value by pressing the whitespace below. However, when there are more items, this is not possible anymore.
I have read that you should include a whitespace as item in the item list, however, then you will see an empty list item when people are working with the pdf which is not preferable.
So, does anyone know how to remove the default value from a dropdown list?
Thanks!Ok, I found a perfect workaround for my problem using FormsCentral for Acrobat. Here is what you should do:
Step 1:
- Open FormsCentral
- Create New Form (Choose Blank Form)
- Click on the dropdown icon to create a new dropdown
- Fill in the list items by clicking on the edit (you also can add a label if you want)
- Click: File > Save as PDF Form...
Step 2:
- Open the saved PDF (you now see a blank pdf with a dropdown menu)
- Click: Tools > Forms > Edit Form (when a popup shows that you should save a copy of the document in order to make changes, press "Save as a copy" and open the pdf copy file with Acrobat)
- Select the dropdown, copy the dropdown and paste it in the desired document
Now you have a dropdown menu without a default choice. Keep in mind that you cannot edit the items in the dropdown, because a default choice will be chosen and you have to use the pdf copy file again. As long as you don't click on a list item, it doesn't choose a default choice.
It is not a perfect solution, but it works for me.

Some users want to change default values shown in Report Delivery Options when creating standard subscriptions. Someone might want to always Cc the report to a specified user without sending the report URL. So they want to display those default values display
automatically when creating standard subscriptions like below.
Solution
To achieve this goal, please embed JavaScript code into the SubscriptionProperties.aspx file to change those default values (By default, the file’s location is: <Installation directory>\Reporting Services\ReportManager\Pages\SubcriptionProperties.aspx).
The example below will show how to set default values for “Cc” field and “Include Link” field.
Before coding, pleas find out the corresponding HTML tags of the two fields in the browser using IE Developer Tools.
Get “Cc” field with its corresponding HTML tag
Get “Include Link” field with its corresponding HTML tag
Embed such a code snippet at the end of the existing code within the SubcriptionProperties.aspx file

2, Drag and drop that parameter into your report title.
3, Pass the value(sort value) dynamically from your application,
4, Cheers..
Other wise Try with Dataset, create a dataset and fill thev alue into that.. Then set the data source from CR designer. and darg and drop that data column into the report.
