How to display a oracle table from a java program?
How to display a oracle table from a java program.
Hello friends, I have written a Java program, using oracle 10g as backend.
I want to display a oracle table as output. Im not getting how to display oracle table as a output table.. Pls help me
Thank youjayanthds, you're not going to get a satisfactory
answer to this here. it's too big a task to justbe
quickly outlined in a forum - the reply "all youneed
to do is to query you table and return it asJTable"
is worthless, for example, since the solution to
any problem can be distilled to such a
soundbite, if need be. doesn't make the solutionany
simpler
essentially you're asking "how do I write adatabase
application?". all you'll get is snippets of code
that, when fitted together, will eventually helpyou
do this, but you'll spend days and days comingback
saying "right, I've done that, now what?" until
either you or the forum gets frustrated with the
whole affair and the process stops
there are entire books written about this subject,
and countless tutorials and guides on theinternet.
you're better off going down that routehehehe.well, it's true! I used to have a manager that would outline the solution to a problem in a few lines of pseudocode, and then firmly believe that the actual solution would be just as brief and simple. shame his pseudocode included such lofty abstractions as "reformat all data" -
How to display a javafx window from a java program?
hello,
I found in the help how to call a java class from a javafx class, but how can I do the opposite : make a javafx window visible and active from a java class (main method e.g.)?
thank you,
olivier.I haven't studied the topic, but I stumbled upon a good number of threads and blog articles on how to use JavaFX in Swing...
Basically it is hackish (might depend on current implementation, thus break on new releases) because Sun didn't designed it for this task. -
How to display PDF in JSP using Iframe
Hi All,
I am using Struts 2. I am building my file in ActionClass with seperate Method like getGeneratedPDF() in which, I am setting header of response and writing into PDF.
This method will be called from JSP by this way
s:property value="getGeneratedPDF()" />
But It displayed Junk Characters , and this PDF is not static (already Generated). It is generated and build on Fly.
I have 2 questions 1 -- How to display PDF in JSP in proper way without Junk Character in it?
questions 2 -- How to display it in Iframe?
Please help me , If you know the solution.
Thanks in Advance,
Jimmyjamy_26 wrote:
But It displayed Junk Characters , and this PDF is not static (already Generated). It is generated and build on Fly.A PDF file is a binary file, not a text file, and you're trying to display it as String. Of course you would get "junk characters". Have you ever tried opening a binary file (pdf, doc, jpg, xls, etc) using a text editor like Notepad?
I have 2 questions 1 -- How to display PDF in JSP in proper way without Junk Character in it?Display it as binary stream, not as text stream. You can display it standalone, just let the link/form/addressbar URL point to some Servlet which writes the InputStream of the PDF file to the OutputStream of the response, along with a correct set of response headers (at least content-type, content-disposition and content-length), so that the browser can open it in the correct application (which is usually Acrobat Reader). If you want to embed the PDF file in a JSP, then one of the ways is indeed using the HTML <iframe> tag.
questions 2 -- How to display it in Iframe? Just let the iframe URL point to the aforementioned Servlet.
You can find here an example of a generic file servlet, you may find it useful to get the idea how to do it: [http://balusc.blogspot.com/2007/07/fileservlet.html]. -
How to display a new view from a nib ?
how to
display a new view from a nib in the main window after clicking on a button.
When I click a the button named for example "goToGokyo", the link to my procedure
runs correctly because I see my NSLog message "goToGokyo button pressed".
My nib, which name is "GokyoViewController" does exist.
I did as follow for the moment but I'm stuck now, my nib :
- (IBAction)goToGokyo:(id)sender
NSLog(@"goToGokyo button pressed");
//[self stopSound];
if (gokyoViewController == nil)
GokyoViewController *aGokyoViewController = [[GokyoViewController alloc]
initWithNibName:@"GokyoViewController" bundle:nil];
self.gokyoViewController = aGokyoViewController;
//[aGokyoViewController release];
[self GokyoView:gokyoViewController animated:YES completion: nil];
Thanks in advance for your advice.
CheersI did that now :
- (IBAction)btnLoadMyViewController:(id)sender
NSViewController *viewController = [[NSViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"MyView" bundle:nil];
NSView *view = [viewController view];
[_myWindowController.window setContentView:view];
//view addSubview:view];
//[self.myView addSubview:view];
Using
"_myWindowController.window setContentView:view];"
or
"[self.myView addSubview:view];"
does not an error but does nothing !
Would you help me one more times please ?
Thanks in advance -
How to deal with validation errors from DAO layer.
I have been pondering on how to deal with validation errors from DAO layer.
Lets say you have a DAO that can save a car object. A car has a year, make, model, vin and so on. During the save operation of this DAO, it validates the car attributes to see if they pass some business rules. If it does not it throws some validation exception that contains all the validation errors. These validation errors know nothing about jsf or my components it just knows what attributes on the object are invalid and why.
If I just want to show those errors at the top of the page that would be no problem I could just create some FacesMessage objects and add them to the FacesContext messages. But if the DAO layer is telling me that the make attribute is invalid it would be nice to map it to the make field on the screen. I am wondering if any of you have tackled this problem or have some ideas on how to tackle it?
BrianLet it throw an exception with a self explaining message, then catch it and embed that message in a FacesMessage.
Or let it throw more specific exception types (InvalidCarMakeException extends CarDAOException and so on) and let JSF handle it with own FacesMessage message. -

How to call a shell script from a java code
Hello can any one suggest me how to call a shell script from a java program that takes three parameters.
i have a shell script (msp_restore_gui) when i run this script in the command line in a RHEL5 ,SUSE10 and Debian machine it works fine .I even tested to call it from a java program and it also worked fine but when i used the same in a J2ee application where the user when clicks the restore button in a webserver this inturn sends the request to a java file named BackupManager.java where i call the shell script.But here it fails.Waiting for your suggestions.If you want i can put the code also hereyes the script is in /usr/local/mss/tools/backup and the script (msp_restore_gui) is as follows

How to run a openssl command from a java program
Hi All
Please suggest on how to run a openssl command from a java program.
I am using this
Runtime runtime = Runtime.getRuntime();
runtime.exec("openssl pkcs8 -inform der -nocrypt test.der result.pem");
This is suppose to take test.der as input and create result.pem.
There are no errors but the file result.pem isnt created.
Thanks in AdvanceFirst off is that openssl command correct? Should it be this instead:
openssl pkcs8 -inform der -nocrypt -in test.der -out result.pem
Try out your openssl command within a command prompt so that you know that it works ok. I think the command line you specified waits on stdin (well it does for me).
After that.....
runtime.exec creates a Process object. If you do this:
Process openssl = runtime.exec("....")
then you can examine the return code from openssl to see the exit code - for instance if the input file does not exist then exit = 1. You can test for this with Java
Alternatively you could get the stderr from the process and look inside it - if it is 0 length then all is good, if it has some text in there then it has likely failed. You could then throw an exception and include the stderr output in the exception messgae. You may need to experiment with this, runnig it first when openssl is happy then running it again when openssl is upset.
