How to display the serial waveform on Labview

I'm a newbie in Labview Programming. Is it possible to display the serial waveform on the display using Labview?

RS232 transmits binary. If you transmit the character A, that gets converted to hex 41 or 01000001 (assuming 8 data bits). There is also start, stop, parity bits. The logic levels for RS232 can between +3 to +12 volts or -3 to -12 volts. When you use LabVIEW to read a serial port, the UART in the pc will convert that digital data back into the character A and that's what LabVIEW or any other communications program like Hyperterminal will read. What exactly do you have hooked up to the serial port of the pc? Is it some kind of instrument or what? If it's an instrument sending data, then how the data is interpreted is dependent on the instrument. It might send back a reading as text. A 1 volt measurment might be transmitted as the ASCII characters "1" and "v". Other instruments might encode the data differently. Measurements made over a serial port can be easily visualized. Plain text received over a serial port is usually displayed as text.

- TestStand has an Output Tab where I display some messages using Engine.OutputMessage; How can I do the same thing on my UI?

Sorry, from your post in the LabVIEW board I did not understand that it was the Output message that you were looking for.
I thought you wanted the results from your test steps displayed on the user interface.
It is the “Output Panel” in the sequence editor that displays your output message, but I do not know if there is default Output panel activeX indicator for user interface that the TestStand engine would update automatically like it does the execution view.
Maybe someone else knows
As also pointed out, the UI messages is your other option.

An application calls the Engine.NewOutputMessages method to create a private OutputMessage collection. TestStand generates this event only if the Engine.OutputMessagesEnabled property is True. Because there can be more than one handler for this event, the application should not modify the OutputMessages collection the UIMessage.ActiveXData property holds.

How are you running this program? Is there a top level vi which calls the ones you posted? The Display image on screen.vi will display two images in succession, but according to the note on the block diagram the second image is blank. It seems as though this would intentionally create a flicker.
The sequence structure is unnecessary. Dataflow will determine the order of execution. The only exception is the time delay in the third frame. Since it has no data dependency, a single frame sequence may be useful to assure that the delay occurs before the picture is updated. A simple state machine might be a more versatile architecture for what you may be trying to do.
It is not necessary to write the FR.PanelBounds property immediately after reading it, nor is it necessary to read it a second time in the second frame. Just wire from the first read.

Hi Arun,
Try this.
1, Set one dynamic parameter,
2, Drag and drop that parameter into your report title.
3, Pass the value(sort value) dynamically from your application,
4, Cheers..
Other wise Try with Dataset, create a dataset and fill thev alue into that.. Then set the data source from CR designer. and darg and drop that data column into the report.

I was able to display the signature on XMLP AP Check Print Report by went through the follwoing Tim's blog http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/2006/04/13#a12
But in Purchase Order report requirement is different. We need to display the Buyer's signature on XMLP PO Report. So, where is the best place to store the buyers signatures.(For example if we have 10 buyers with 10 signatures respectively then after approving the PO, we should display that particular buyer's signature in PO XML Publisher report).We observed that in byuers & User's form there is no attachment feature enabled.
This is an urgent requiremnt. Please help/guide/suggest to resolve this issue.

How to display the text as a Bold in the Text Element of a Smart Form

I created one Smart Form.
In that i created the Text element.
I provide some data also in that.
It is coming as a MS WORD.
I executed my smart form.
Customer Number: &WA_KNA1-KUNNR&
it display the data of the particular customer.
But i need to display the Customer Number as BOLD or else Increase the Size.
For this also I created one SMARTSTYLE.
In that I created the Paragraph and Character Formats also.
Now i assignee that SMARTSTYLE in the Output Option Tab of the Text Element also.
But i unable to get the CUSTOMER NUMBER in Bold.
In MS WORD we have BOLD button.
I selected the Text and Press the BOLD button. At that time it is Highlighted.
Whenever i press the SAVE Button.
Then it is not saved with BOLD.
It is coming in Normal Format.
In the ECC 6.0. I am unable to get the Text as a BOLD.
This text Element is like a MS WORD.
Can you please tell me how to display the Data with BOLD. please tell me. I am unable to get that one.

Hi,
Check where u have given BOLD. In character Format or in Paragraph format.
In SMART FORM,
1. Change to OLD EDITOR if u are confused with the new one.
        (This can be done by clicking the button left to new editor ).
2. If it is PARAGRAPH FORMAT,
           Give the name of paragraph format in the editor.
            P1         &WA_KNA1-KUNNR&
    If it is CHARACTER FORMAT,
                         <C1> &WA_KNA1-KUNNR&

Actually I have this requirement for MAC OS 10.5. With the code you provided, I got the output as "6289375". When I changed the URL to point to my file (file:///Users/VPKVL/Desktop/MyRecord/tempAudio.wav), I am getting the below mentioned Exception:
