How to distinguish 100% 4S sim free (never locked) from a blocked?

I can not buy iphone 4s in the official store, so I'll have to buy a phone, which was brought from another country. I'm afraid to buy a phone that is locked to the operator and it will not work after some time.
If I insert in new iphone 4S my sim card and it will activate it and will catch the network, does that mean that it is not blocked in the future, such as update version IOS?
(there are reports about the phones 4S, tied to the operators, but mistakenly working with all sim cards. there it is mentioned that in the future, these phones will be blocked)
PS:
I apologize for the error - translated from the tips online translator

Well, if you can't purchase an iPhone from an official source that sells officially unlocked iPhones, you take your chances. Many who go this route end up with hacked iPhones & nothing but grief. Good luck, because there is no way to distinguish between a hacked iPhone & one from an official source just by looking at it.

  • I am from Nepal and want to buy unlocked sim free iphone 5s from USA. So will it work in Nepal?

I want to buy sim free iphone 5s from USA. So can I be able to use it here in Nepal with either of NCELL or NTC network?

Any unlocked iPhone should work as a GSM phone anywhere in the world. However, iPhones have additional features that will not work on networks that are not partners with Apple. The features that may not work  include:
    iTunes store and App Store
Visual Voicemail (almost certainly will not work)
    LTE networks
    3G networks
    iMessage
    FaceTime
    MMS
    GameCenter
Your Apple warranty will not be honored outside of the country of purchase. You may or may not be able to get services to fix it for a fee; I don't know if independent repair shops in Nepal can handle the iPhone. I do know that they cannot get official Apple replacement parts, so any parts that are needed will be gray market.
You might be be better off getting a phone in India; at least getting repairs and warranty service won't require traveling back to the US.

  • Does sim-free iphone lock to the network?

    HI all,
I've been asking different question here recently connected to iphones and now I have one more question. Does sim-free iphone lock to the carrier of the first sim used in it? I've been using mine for a while and now i'd like to change mobile carrier. So, aren't there going to be any problems with it? Thanks in advance.

Apple does not use the term "SIM free" in any of their marketing materials.  If you bought the phone at Carphone Warehouse in the UK, it will lock to the first UK carrier used to activate it. It can not be activated on a foreign network unless unlocked by the UK carrier used to activate it. Other than that, so far as I'm aware, phones are "locked" or "unlocked". I don't know of anywhere else where things are done like they are at carphone warehouse in the UK.

  • Can i buy a sim free iphone 5s from a apple retail store ?

Can i buy a sim free iphone 5s from a apple retail store in nyc or is it exclusively avaliable online ?

You can buy it at an Apple store. But you do not want "SIM Free", which means that you can use it with any carrier, but the phone becomes locked permanently to the first carrier you use it with. You want to be clear that you want an "UNLOCKED" phone. Apple does not sell SIM Free phones, but some independent dealers (such as Carphone Warehouse in the UK) do.
Also, note that if you plan to use it outside of the US you will not have warranty or repair service available for it; Apple will only fix phones (in or out of warranty) in the country of purchase. And it may not work on LTE (4G) networks outside of North America.

  • How do we permanently stop MASS_CRM_* and R3AD_* locks from being applied??

    Good afternoon Experts,
How do we permanently stop MASS_CRM_* and R3AD_* locks from being applied in CRM? We have several jobs that run weekly to download information from R/3 to CRM. The information only takes a few minutes to download into CRM, however the blocks are applied during the middle of the night, and cause backups within our system.
Queue name R3AD_SCE also becomes blocked as well during these downloads.
How do we stop these from being applied, without manually having to go into R/3 to remove during the middle of the night?
We currently are on CRM 4.0. The only notes that I found regarding this problem was for 3.0 - 3.5.
    Thank you for your help!

Thank you very much for your reply.
We are running a job created to download all materials from R/3 into CRM, using SAP program SMOF_DOWNLOAD with variant of material. I believe the locks are coming on as this is a load. However, the job only takes about 15 seconds to run and take the information from R/3. CRM takes longer to process that information. However, the lock does not come off when the job is complete. We have to manually remove the lock the next time someone from the team logs into CRM. This causes problems as nothing from R/3 to CRM is passing through while the locks are on. As soon as the lock is removed, the systems begin communicating again. The job is not impacted as it takes less than 15 seconds to run.
How do we either stop the lock from coming on, or have it automatically come off when the job is complete?
I reviewed the note suggested, but it was for account life cycles. Perhaps the wrong number was written?

  • How do I get my sim free Iphone 4 MMS messaging to work with T-mobile

I have a SIM-free iPhone from Apple UK purchased in the UK which while in the states I am using on t-mobile. I am having a problem with Picture messaging.
When a picture message is sent to me, I get an error message: "The media content was not included due to a picture resolution or message size restriction"
I can send photos to other phones but not receive.
apple support USA told me they are not trained on what to do about a Factory unlocked SIM-free apple iphone, as all US phones are tied to AT&T.
If any body has any Ideas or knows a setting I should change it would be appreciated. Thanks

T-Mobile told me they are having this problem with iPhone 4 and until apple gives them some information on this, which they won't as iPhone 4 is not officially supported by T-mobile as it is locked to AT&T in US. They have a work around for jailbroken phones but I do not wish to jailbreak. I was hoping some person cleverer than I may have worked this out and know of a setting

  • Sim free Z10 purchase from UK to be used in Pakistan

Hello I am from Pakistan and am currently in UK. I want to buy a Z10 from here which i will use back home. Some questions please. 1. Can i use the sim free phone with my mobile operator in pakistan, without a hassle. Last thing i want is I buy the phone, and it doesnt work back home 2. Carphone warehouse is providing a 2 year warranty. Is this an international warranty? There is no blackberry shop in Pakistan but there are in Dubai. If required, will the Dubai shops recognize this warranty? 3. A bit on the technical aspect... With the OS 10.2, has the Z10 able to bury most, if not all of the criticisms that it received when it first launched last year? Thank you in advance for your help. Regards
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Blackberry Z10 are global ready handsets, u can use it easily. Firsy of all go to setting and then tap to security option again tap in sim card. See if device network is not locked to spcific carrier thhen it must be unlocked. And unlocked handsets are ready to use anywhere including pakistan. But the warranty remains. Only in UK.

Lost my hard drive and also an Ipad, but have 7 k photos on a Touch that I need to load on fixed IMAC with a new hard drive, how do I do it. (There were more photos than the 7k, but they were saved on other drives, thank goodness).  7K pohotos on the Touch are no where else, must be saved!  Just never went from a Touch to iMac.  I have the cable hooked up and then what, I don't want to mess up,my last chance to save 7k pics!  New Aperture and IPhoto on IMAC with no other photos loaded on the new hard drive yet.

I'd ask in the iTouch forum where there are more iTouch users there than here and they should know how to off load the photos.  It might take a 3rd party app.

  • Sim free  is locked!

    Hello everybody
I have 4S 64GB iphone sim free and unlocked, ones i upgraded to version 6 the sim free option is locked! I can't use it.
I am located in Israel and the device cant recognize the SIM
I will be grateful with any help..
    Uri

Well, according to this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1937 all of the wireless carriers in Australia offer unlock services. You would need to contact the carrier the phone is locked to for an unlock request. Like I said earlier, only the carrier can authorize the unlock.
Also, you are not addressing Apple here, we are users just like you that try to help other users. Besides, Apple cannot solve it since the carrier is the only one that can authorize the unlock.

  • How to load DataBlock based on the Multiple Condition from another block

    Hi
How to load a Data Block based on the Multiple values from another block. For eg.EMP is the Master Data block and SAL is the child Datablock. When query JOS% in the Master Block(EMP) then display all the Sal details in the SAL block for all the employees starting with JOS , When clicking one buton or if it is possible in the loadin of the MasterBlock

    Hi,
I presume you are using database block relations.
Put automatic query = yes in relation properties.
Do you have block level trigger ON-POPULATE-DETAILS?
In that you can find the relation and query - Using built-ins
    Find_Relation and Query_Master_Details

  • How Many Versions of Unlock/Sim-free iPhone 3g?

I'm getting confused on the various Unlocked versions of iPhone 3G sold throughout the world especially in countries like Hong Kong, NZ, Italy, Singapore etc.
Some said its Factory Unlocked from Apple but some need to be unlock by the Telco. Some said it need to Sync with iTunes Store for the first time... etc...etc..
    Can someone help to clarify?
    Thanks.

Certain Wireless carriers will sell them Unlocked.
The price for an unlocked is pretty high.
They are usually sold as unlocked already via the Wireless carrier. Not Apple.
The only one I knew for sure was T-Mobile Germany way back. But never kept up on all the companies and how they sold them so my info is outdated. Sounds like you know more.

  • How do I get my contract free iPhone unlocked from the first network it was connected to?

My husband bought me an iPhone 5 from Carphonewarehouse Wharehouse which was contract free. I then signed up for a sim only contract from EE but was miss sold a service which they do not provide so I have now cancelled that contract. When trying to buy another sim from another provider, the phone is locked to the EE network for which they say I have to contact Apple directly to have the phone unlocked? I have been back and forth on this one and it seems now that my wonderful Xmas present is rendered useless....because it seems that it cannot be unlocked! Does anyone have any ideas how I can solve this?
Apple can you help because I have no idea where to turn to now?

Apple has a extensive list of every iPhone that was made and each phone has its own number. On each number is a code that locks the phone to the service provider. The only way that Apple can change the code to your phone is if it is authorized by the service provider. So you will have to go back to EE and ask them to unlock your phone, and this will probably have an accompanying fee for unlocking as most providers do.
The strange thing is that you bought your iPhone unlocked and it managed to become locked during this process. You should have just been able to put a sim card in from one company and then just put another in from a different without any issues.
When dealing with EE make sure to raise that point if they try to charge you with an unlocking fee.
Unfortunately Apple is not in a position that can help you, they will probably tell you to call your service provider.

  • How do I return a SIM activation Kit purchased from the Verizon Store?

I purchased a SIM Activation Kit from your online store and even though the web site said it would work with my phone it didn't.  I called support 3 times and they were unable to activate the SIM.
I need to return the kit.
I called Customer Service and they told me I am unable to return it because I am not a Verizon customer?  Please advise how I can return this I do not have a Verizon Store Nearby. The packing slip said go to vzw.com/printlabel , but it asks for a Wireless number.  I don't have a Verizon number because I was never able to activate the Card.

        l!m!t,
Thank you very much for that information. If the kit was purchased online you will need to call our Internet Orders Team for assistance with this return. You can reach them at 1-866-338-7390. They are open from 8AM - 5PM Monday through Friday and I'm sure they can assist you with this return.
