How to distribute equal spacing with anchor points?

I am working in Lesson 5 of Adobe Illustrator CS5 Classroom in a Book, and am having a problem selecting the 2 anchor points to distribute equal space based on the bottom center anchor point of the violin. The note said to reference chapter 2, which I have already been through, but even after reading the Illustrator Help dialog on pg 75, I am still at a loss. Can anyone explain how to distribute this equal spacing of 2 anchors relative to one anchor point?

Especially when working with a finished symmetrical shape, such as a violin, which may have been created using mirroring, in other words elaborating on a shape, possibly with something unforeseen in the first round, and especially when it is inconvenient to cut paths to work with one half, you may use the instructions in small print using invisible ink at the bottom of item 3 in lesson 5:
2 tips, using the Line Tool and Smart Guides:
To make sure the left Anchor Point has the same same distance from the bottom Anchor Point, first ShiftDrag horizontally with the Line Segment Tool from the right Anchor Point to cross the path, then select the violin path and click it with the Add Anchor Point Tool where Smart Guides say intersect.
Or to place both Anchor Points at the same time instead, first create a sufficiently long horizontal path with the Line Segment Tool below the violin path, then ShiftDrag it upwards to cross the violin path at the desired distances, then select the violin path and click it with the Add Anchor Point Tool where Smart Guides say intersect, both right and left.

What I usually do is use the pen tool. Clicking anywhere on the path adds points, clicking on a point removes it and holding down the alt key while over a point is the convert point tool. Ctrl key is the direct selection tool and ctrl+alt key while dragging the object duplicates it.

How do I link to an anchor point within a web page from within a PDF

Hello,
Can someone tell me how to link to an anchor point on a webpage from within a PDF?
I created a page in Word and when i add my url with the # to reference the anchor eg. www.google.com/web#test1 and test the link it all works fine. I then create a PDF of this same page however the PDF seems to strip out the URL and looks to reference a file #test1.
Any suggestions, ideas?

Problems with anchor points on Pages 5.2.2

i have Pages 5.2.2 and Mavericks 10.9.5. I noticed I could not follow on from a previous paragraph on a simple wordprocessing page. No inserted tables or media inserts, just straight forward writing. The hidden symbols shows that it is a 'lollipop ' symbol - an anchor point for objects set to move with text. The online help instructs to go to the format inspect and choose Arrange. On my version the latest there are ino STYLE IMAGE ARRANGE boxes. On the menu there is ARRANGE but everything is greyed out, even when I highlight the text involved. How do I delete the anchor point, please

Path with anchor points and bezier control handles

I have a text, not converted to outline. Live text.
I am using IllCS4.
That is cool thing about hovering the cursor above the text and see hidden path and anchor points only when you hovering exactly above them. But I want them be visible permannently, while I am applying some envelop distort changes. Then I want to turn visibility off. And how to get permanent visiblity of bazier control handles at the same time?

Move Graphic to Flash with Anchor Points

I created a graphic in Illustrator CS5 that I want to use in Flash CS5. How do I move the graphic to Flash and preserve the anchor points of the graphic so I can use them in Flash? I have used the Import to Library function in Flash but once the graphic has been imported the anchor points are gone.
Here is some background in case I'm trying to do it incorrectly. I have a speech bubble I created in Illustrator. Now I need to use this speech bubble in a Flash animation but the bubble will need to resize according to how much text will be placed in it. I can't just change the width and height of the bubble because that will make certain parts like the edges to big. I need the bubble to "grow". In Illustrator I can do this by select certain anchor points and moving them without effecting other points. But in Flash I'm not sure how to accomplish this.

Thanks for the reply. I just did some reading on 9 Slice and that is actually what I need. Unfortunately it is not working correctly in Flash CS5 with my Illustrator graphic.
I setup 9 Slice in Illustrator and it works great in Illustrator. I can resize my graphic and only the parts I want resize. Then I saved the Illustrator file and tried importing it into Flash CS5 and I see the 9 Slice lines but when I resize the graphic 9 Slice is not working. I tried creating a simple box in Flash with curved edges and 9 Slice worked with it.
Is there something special I need to do to get 9 Slice to work on my imported Illustrator graphic? I tried creating new 9 Slice lines in Flash as well but that never worked either. Am I missing something?

How do you center a Text Anchor Point?

I want all my text anchor points to center in the middle of my words.
By default they stay in the lower left corner.
Do I have to manually reposition each one with the Transform > Anchor Point adjustment every single time?

There's no option for that. Text layers are the size of the comp even though the text can extend beyond the boundaries. The only solution that I know of is to add a slider control to the text layer then add this expression to the anchor point:
[0, -.35*effect("Slider Control")("Slider")]
The .35 factor is about where most have the center of their height. You then just adjust the slider to the font height. You can tweak the value if it doesn't fit your particular font.
Unfortunately there's no way to directly access the font size with an expression

How do I dial in the anchor point for 3D rotation?

Flash knows where the anchor point is in 3D space in order for the symbol to rotate around it, but I can't seem to figure out how to see the coordinates of the anchor point or type in new ones. Please tell me how to do this. I am already very annoyed that Lynda, a pay service, doesn't think this is vital information. Apparently they think we would never want to do anything more visually stimulating than one simple spinning logo! But I digress...
Just to be clear, I know how to move the anchor point visually on the stage, but I want accuracy. I want to be able to give two symbols the exact same coordinates to rotate around.

Thank you! That's exactly what I was looking for.
I also found a work around to what I was trying to do. You can select multiple symbols and rotate them around one axis, but that's not as accurate. BTW if you have any links to using 3D in CS4 that are beyond basic, I would love to see them.

Move direction handles in synch with anchor point?

Hi all
I'm trying to nudge the anchor points on an object randomly (to get an informal look). (I know some Effects do this already.)
Maintaining corner points is no problem - you just set the direction handles to the same coordinates as their anchor.
But I can't nudge a smooth point in the way I want to, which is to move the anchor but maintain the direction handles in exactly the same relation to their anchor as they had before. That is to say, they should remain smooth points.
My script calculates the difference between 'before' and 'after' positions of the anchor, and applies that difference to the direction handles… but in practice the smooth points are converted to corners, because the direction handles don't maintain their relation with the anchor.
Would be grateful if someone can point out the flaw(s!) in my logic.

Basic 3d, how do I change rotation axis (anchor) point?

I have a photo in front of me. Now I'd like it to fall toward me, but when I spin the X axis, of course, the focal/center/axis point is the center of the photo. If it was falling toward you as if standing up on a table, the bottom of the photo would be the rotating point. I don't see a way to change this anchor point in the basic 3d filter - can it be done?

The easiest way I found to do this is the following:
Make the layer you want to rotate in 3D (the photo, in this case) a child/sublayer of a new, empty layer.
Apply the Basic 3D effect to this new, parent layer.
Select the photo sublayer and drag it until it's relative position regarding the axis sytstem/anchor point is the one you want. After that, when you animate the Basic 3D filter in the parent layer, the photo will behave as if the axis system was offset to the location you wanted.

When I try to disbribute the form, I get an error message stating the following, "Acrobat is unable to distribute this form because it contains multiple submit buttons with different formats or return URLs." Is anyone able to let me know how I can distribute the form?

Sounds as if you need your own web script to process submissions - written by an experienced web programmer (I very strongly recommend someone familiar with all the latest security weaknesses, and not a project for anyone else). Your needs are (it seems to me) too complex for Adobe's automatic system.

My application uses Crystal Report to generate reports (print function and PDF file). In fact my application only use the class "ReportClass".
My application was developped with Crystal Report 9.
Now, I am trying to use Crystal Report 11.
Up to now, the size of my application was about 11 MB. My problem is that using Crystal Report 11 I don't succeed to create an installation routine with a such size. I don't want an installation routine > 15 MB. How to do it ?
In my application (.net) I have the references to the following assemblies:
CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine
CrystalDecisions.ReportSource
CrystalDecisions.Shared
CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms
Are there any "light" merge modules which allow to use only the class "ClassReport" ?

To reset Mail completely, simply delete (or move) everything in ~/Users/YOURUSERNAME/Library/Mail/
You might try rebuilding your mailboxes. To do so, launch Mail, choose "MailBox" and then "Rebuild." You can also force Mail to do this manually by going to the same location above and deleting the "Envelope Index" files.
Be careful: if your email account is set to use POP3, it's likely that the only place your email exists is on your Mac. You should, if possible, switch to using IMAP access for email. That will ensure that your email always stays on the server, which will prevent loss in case of disaster with your personal computer.

It realaly depends on what prmValue is. If prmValue = "" then that would work. I've assumed that prmValue is a String and it is = "".
Try using code like this to test it out. It worked for me.

          if (paramValue.equals(""))
               paramValue = "No Value";

               paramValue = "Error";
          System.out.println(paramValue);
btw it wont work for prmValue = null or if prmValue wasn't initialised.
