How to do a calculation (with times)

Hi all! I'm creating a pdf form using Acrobat Professional CS4. My client wants the person using the form to type in the time they start their shift, the time they end their shift... and then have it automatically calculate the time they spent at work.
At the end of the week (the pdf is for one week), she wants it to total up the total number of hours worked for that week.
I see that I can do calculations, but I have no idea how to do this. Are there any tutorials or web sites that could help me with this? Thank you so much!
Julie

  • How to Sync iPhone/iPad with Time Capsule (wirelessly)

    Hi - I am wondering if there is way to sync my iPhone or iDevices with Time Capsule wirelessly.  Please let me know if there is and how?
    Thanks in advance..

    The iOS devices....iPhones, iPads, iPods, etc.....sync to iTunes on your computer or to iCloud.
    See this Apple support document:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
    It is not possible to sync iOS devices directly to the Time Capsule.

  • HT201250 How to view old desktops with Time Machine?

    Hi, I was wondering how you can view your old desktops from past updates with Time Machine? Such as the wallpaper that was used and how your dock icons were arranged. I don't mean a full restore just a quick view of the old desktops. Thanks in advance.

    i think it will be the com.apple.desktop.plist on the user library

  • How to solve the problem with time difference?

    Hi,
    I work in India with time difference about 12 hours faster than American time.
    I put a validation in my application as follows:
    IF :P2_FINISH_DATE > SYSDATE THEN
    return false;
    else
    return true;
    end if;
    Today (13-Mar-09) at 9:30 am according to my system, I entered 13-Mar-09 as FINISH_DATE.
    But it returned false with an error message: "Finish date cannot be greater than system date."
    I changed my system time as 13-Mar-09, 9:30 pm. Then it accepted 13-Mar-09 as FINISH_DATE.
    How can I solve this issue.
    Would appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
    Guy

    Hi Arie,
    Thanks for the code.
    Your code works perfect in SQL Commands.
    But I don't know how to use the code in my application.
    Would appreciate if you can help me know the followings:
    - How to define two application processes -- before header and after submit (before any processing) – with the proper alter session statement.
    - How to use the APEX VPD field to do the same.
    FYI, I use the following codes:
    - For file upload
    If (:p2_SUBMIT_FILE is not null) then
    insert into PM_DOCUMENT (id, name, blob_content, mime_type, PROJECT_NAME, SUBMIT_TIME, SUBMITTED_BY)
    select id, :p2_SUBMIT_FILE, blob_content, mime_type, :P2_NAME, SYSDATE , :P2_UPDATED_BY
    from apex_application_files
    where NAME = :p2_SUBMIT_FILE;
    Delete from apex_application_files where name = :p2_SUBMIT_FILE;
    end if;
    - For Data entry validation
    IF :P2_START_DATE > :P2_FINISH_DATE
    OR :P2_START_DATE > :P2_TARGET_DATE
    OR :P2_FINISH_DATE > SYSDATE THEN
    return false;
    else
    return true;
    end if;
    Thanks,
    Guy

  • HT1338 How to restore iphoto photo with Time Machine?

    I am trying to restore a single photo in iPhoto from Time Machine.
    I open up iPhoto, then upen up Time Machine. When Time Machine launches, it opens up my desktop, not iPhoto.
    I have seen videos of people doing this, but I cannot get Time Machine to open up iPhoto.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Apple used to support restoration of photos via the iPhoto interface with Time Machine, but has halted this support. I believe the reason was the feature was corrupting people's libraries, but I cannot be certain. Your options here are to restore either the entire library or manually go into the library in the Finder and use Time Machine to browse through file histories that way. Alternatively you can access the Time Machine backup directly in the Finder and manually copy the needed files out of it (do not restore in this way, but instead copy to the Desktop and then re-import the image as a new photo).

  • How to restore email-Account with Time-Machine

    Hi,
    I realized to my surprise that all my email accounts except the icloud one are gone from mail, after I restarted my mac. I do not know why this happened, crash or something ... - I only know that I only see my icloud account in the inbox.
    I read the discussions about restoring mails with TM but what I wanted to avoid is to setup my 5 emails accounts manually again. I want to have them restored via TM (as I already have local copies after them emails in the inboxes I do not really care abouut the mails agains..) . I do not want to setup all the different acount settings again and again.
    So the question is: Where are those account informations kept in TM? Can I restore them with mail open or do I ahve to close the mail app on my iMac and then simply restore a certain file/folder with TM (I hope it is such easy ...)
    Thanks for support!
    Christoph

    The account settings are stored in ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Accounts.plist
    So try again with Time Machine.
    Browse to the MailData Folder, open Time Machine (click  in the toolbar
    and select Enter Time Machine) the go back to a time before the Accounts.plist file was changed and click Restore.

  • How to Update Absence Quota with Time Evaluation

    Dear Friends,
    I would like to know how do we update absence quota within time evaluation. Currently i'm using UPDTQAXX, it works but when i search this forum everybody was using this simple code:
    HRS=something
    ADDDBxxxx
    and the quota is updated. I just dont get it, with adddb its only update the daily balance table, how does that enable us to updated the 2006 infotype? Many Thanks

    ADDDBxxxx adds the value of the number of hours field to the specified time type in the table of day balances (TES), it does not update the quota.
    You can use function QUOTA  to accrue absence entitlements periodically based on this customizing: Personnel Time Management>Time Data Recording and Administration>Managing Time
    Accounts Using Attendance/Absence Quotas>Calculating Absence Entitlements>Rules for
    Generating Absence Quotas>Define Generation Rules for Quota Selection.
    You can use a time type to prorate that accrual

  • I have a 250GB western digital external hard drive for my time machine backups. if i just want to backup and recover my photos and movies how do i do that with time machine?

    I have a 250GB western digital external hard drive for my time machine backups. I did not download the software that came with the external HD. If I only want to backup my photos and movies from my Macbook how do I do that in Tme Machine with my external HD?

    Format the HDD in Disk Utility>Erase to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and the open System Preferences>Time Machine and set up the external disk as the Time Machine HDD.  Then look at the Options, and exclude what you do not want backed up.
    Ciao.

  • How to setup airport express with time machine

    just bought airport express so i can extend my wifi range,can anybody help on how to set up! I have time machine 2gb, my house is wired with cat6 cable in all the bed rooms, but now only half my house get wifi,so i want to extend it.I know i have to go into air utility and change some stuff, but sure what stuff?

    I assume that this is a new AirPort Express and you have not tried to configure it previously.
    Locate the AirPort Express in the general area where you would like to have more wireless signal coverage.
    Connect the Ethernet cable to the WAN "O" port on the back of the AirPort Express
    Power up the AirPort Express and let it run a few minutes. The amber light will be blinking slowly at this point.
    Click the AirPort icon at the top of your Mac's screen and wait a few seconds for a listing of New AirPort Base Station to appear. Just below that, click directly on AirPort Express.
    AirPort Setup will open up automatically on your Mac, take a minute to analyze the network, then announce that the AirPort Express will be configured to extend the Time Capsule network.
    Enter a device name that you want to use for the AirPort Express and click Next
    Wait a minute while AirPort Setup configures everything for you. When you see the indication of Setup Complete, click Done.
    You should be all set.
