How to do a FaceTime call to your other devices?

Hi,
I have an iPhone and an iPad. I carry my iPhone along with me while I'm out and iPad is at home most of the time.
I tried doing a FaceTime call at home on my iPad while I was out. But I couldn't make it as both the devices are signed in using same Apple iCloud ID.
Is there any other option? How do I do FaceTime calls within my own devices?

I just tried this and I was able to make a FaceTime call from my iPad to my iPhone and vice-versa and they are both using the same Apple ID. Note that I have updated to iOS 8 so that might be the reason. If your are still on iOS 7 then it could be that iOS 7 doesn’t handle this properly. If you are still on iOS 7 and can update to iOS 8 I can assure you that FaceTime calls between devices using the same Apple ID account is possible.

Just my experience, but I've never had a screen protector on any of my iPads and have never felt the need to have one. You may want one if you don't use a case or cover, but otherwise I don't see that they're useful assuming you take basic care in keeping your screen clean and free of debris that might scratch.

The link shows a picture of the Notification. Below it says there is "nothing to set up" but I believe that you need to have FaceTime activated (signed in) on both devices as there is a setting on iPhone/iPad in Settings > FaceTime where you turn "iPhone Cellular Calls" on/off.

Whether you can re-download them for free depends upon what country that you are in - tv shows can't be re-downloaded in all countries. If they show in the Purchased tab in the iTunes app on your other devices, or the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes then you can re-download them. Otherwise you can copy them from your iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases and then sync them to your other devices.

You need OSX 10.7.2 or higher in order to access icloud. The mobile me account is now defunct (it closed down more than a year ago).

The only way to sign out of an icloud account is to do it on the actual device. You can't do it remotely (assuming you do not wish to use the Find My iPHone feature to wipe the device - and assuming that serice was turned on).
Settings>icloud, scroll to bottom of screen and tap Delete Account.

How to fix: "One or more of your USB device drawing too much power..."

Plugged my iPhone to do my usual download of photos off my phone into my iPhoto library so that I can edit them and post on eBay and Etsy. Suddenly, I'm getting the error message:
"Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer, one or more of your USB devices have been disabled."
I'm surmising that it's because my USB cord (connected from my iPhone to MacBook Pro) might be damaged. It's not charging correctly. Keeps going on and off when plugged into wall or computer.
So, will buying a new cord this solve the issue? I have to get one anyway so I guess I'll find out!
Meanwhile, for tonight I'll have to do just email the photos to myself. Ugh.

It should fix it. I would unplug all of your other USB devices from the computer and see if it continues with that error. If so, then certainly replace that cord (do it anyway since its having issues even in the wall)

Yes, that should work. But let me ask one question, why do you set up your iCloud on your kids devices? If you share your Apple ID for store purchases (Apps, Music, Movies etc.) then just set it up in "Settings > iTunes & App Stores". Your kids do not need your iCloud account on their devices to get access to your media.

Am I dreaming or will Photo Stream (iCloud) update photos on my Macbook when I edit them (enhance, crop, rotate, etc) on my iMac (automatically or otherwise)? Your iCloud account doesn't sync purchased music. You sync them to your iPod with iTunes (see http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12313).
