How to do a Khan Academy video within or uploaded to Adobe Captivate?

Hi wondering if anyone has uploaded a Khan Academy type video into Adobe Captivate, or what was your process and what tools did you use?  This would be an eLearning module with content first then with a virtual learning blackboard video (Kahn Academy) then more content.  Thoughts?  Thanks for your time

This is one way you could do it: PhotoPresenter Animated Slideshow Themes. The thumbnails can be as small as you'd like. This way none of the video files have to load before they play button is selected. Otherwise the page would take forever to load.
How the button is created is described in this demo page: Opening Item in a New, Precisely Sized Window
OR you could use a video jutebox like the one on this page: http://www.holyredeemernorthbend.org/HRWeb/Our_Videos.html.
His tutorial on how to implement it is here: http://www.holyredeemernorthbend.org/HRWeb/jukebox.html.

    Hi,
    I'm trying to add an audio click box on a question slide. It works brilliantly on normal slides but theres no option to add a click box on quiz slides.
    I'm trying to add audio on click. So, when somebody clicks that area they will hear a sound. Is there a way to do this on a question slide?
    Thanks

    Replace those old click boxes by shapes configured as buttons. Have a look at this post:

  • Inserting a video in Adobe Captivate 6

    I need your help.
    I inserted a video in my course in Adobe Captivate 6 and when I upload it to my LMS I keep getting a Connection error. I tried to change it to Flash Player 9 to see if that would work and it didn't. Do you have any tricks to help me through this?

    Hi there
    We need YOUR help!
    There is more than one way to insert a video into captivate. Exactly how did you insert the video?
    Does the video play before you insert things into the LMS?
    What is the video format?

  • How can I create multiple versions of a video within the same project?

    OK...this is a probably a very basic question but I'm not sure how to word it clearly.
    How can I create multiple versions of a video within the same project? What I mean is that I have a bout 50 minutes of video and I want to make two DVDs using different clips from this original 50 minutes of footage. It would be a real pain to have to re-import the video AGAIN for the second DVD. I suppose I could drop anything I don't want to burn to DVD back into the clips pane but that would wipe out all my transitions wouldn't it? I want to save each project in their “raw” form so I can burn additional DVDs later otherwise I would just do them one at a time and not care about one of them being destroyed.
    Wow...that was a mess. Does anyone understand what the heck I’m asking? I hope so.

    How can I create multiple versions of a video within the same project?
    You can't. You make separate projects using the same or different clips, segments, transitions, titles, etc. You can even duplicate the first project and then modify/make the desired changes in the duplicated project. Each project can then be burned as a different DVD or as different titles on the same DVD if there is enough room.

    I got bulks of videos in my ipad 2, how can i look at my videos in list display? It's hard for me to look through my gallery with grid display..
    any ideas?

    There is no list display option. If there were such an option, it would likely be available within the Videos app.

  • How do I embed a YouTube Video in Keynote 6.5?

    Hi!  Used to be that we could embed a link into Keynote to play during the slideshow; I'm not seeing how to do that now. Help! Please!  It looks like the Keynote just wants the videos to live on board the computer, you just click Media and bring it in...
    Thoughts?  Thanks everyone!
    S

    Hi ViddyYo! I don't recall ever being able to embed videos in Keynote - but you certainly can not embed videos within a presentation now.
    You will have to download the video from the video hosting site and place it as a movie within the Keynote.
    If you own the rights, I would suggest using a website like www.keepvid.com to make it happen.

  • How do you display a swf video / videos when you mouse over

    How do you display a swf video / videos when you mouse over, It'll be something like a pop up but just that it doesn't open in another windows but within the same window and will be like a pop up roll over image.

    Thank you for the reply.
    I've been putzing around with it and came across the 'SetEventHandler' object and thought I'd try and make that one work.
    Here's what I've got so far.
           <mx:SetEventHandler target="{turnAroundMovie}" name="handleMovieClip" handler="stopMovie()"/>
    And then my fuction.
       <mx:Script>
            <![CDATA[
                private function stopMovie():void{
                    turnAroundMovie.stop(); <!-- here's where I'm getting stuck -->
            ]]>
        </mx:Script>
    My first instinct was the simple stop(), but that didn't fly.  I even added a stopMovie frame in my .swf and tried a gotoAndStop('stopMovie'); but that didn't fly either.  And that's kind of where I'm stuck at.

  • Can't put video within template,

    Hi,
    I am using Dreamweaver CS3. Is there a way to insert a flash
    video within a page linked to a template? I always get the error
    "making this change would require changing code that is locked by a
    template or a translator". I tried unlinking, inserting the video,
    then relinking but I get two regions that are not associated with
    the template and so ruin the layout once saved. I need all pages to
    be linked to the template as the navigational links are constantly
    changing/updating - these need to be consistent with every page.
    What can I do?!
    THanks,
    Steve

    When you insert Flash video with Flash detection and
    prompting, DW wants to
    put this into the body tag -
    onLoad="MM_CheckFlashVersion('7,0,0,0','Content on this page
    requires a
    newer version of Adobe Flash Player. Do you want to download
    it now?');"
    e.g.,
    <body onLoad="MM_CheckFlashVersion('7,0,0,0','Content on
    this page requires
    a newer version of Adobe Flash Player. Do you want to
    download it now?');">
    Let's assume that you have a child page with the video
    already inserted
    WITHOUT Flash detection.
    What you would need to do would be to create a DUMMY page,
    (FILE | New >
    Basic HTML), and insert the video on that page, then copy and
    paste from
    that page into your template child page.
    First, copy and paste the Flash detection script -
    change this -
    </head>
    to this -
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function MM_CheckFlashVersion(reqVerStr,msg){
    with(navigator){
    var isIE = (appVersion.indexOf("MSIE") != -1 &&
    userAgent.indexOf("Opera") == -1);
    var isWin = (appVersion.toLowerCase().indexOf("win") != -1);
    if (!isIE || !isWin){
    var flashVer = -1;
    if (plugins && plugins.length > 0){
    var desc = plugins["Shockwave Flash"] ? plugins["Shockwave
    Flash"].description : "";
    desc = plugins["Shockwave Flash 2.0"] ? plugins["Shockwave
    Flash
    2.0"].description : desc;
    if (desc == "") flashVer = -1;
    else{
    var descArr = desc.split(" ");
    var tempArrMajor = descArr[2].split(".");
    var verMajor = tempArrMajor[0];
    var tempArrMinor = (descArr[3] != "") ?
    descArr[3].split("r") :
    descArr[4].split("r");
    var verMinor = (tempArrMinor[1] > 0) ? tempArrMinor[1] :
    0;
    flashVer = parseFloat(verMajor + "." + verMinor);
    // WebTV has Flash Player 4 or lower -- too low for video
    else if (userAgent.toLowerCase().indexOf("webtv") != -1)
    flashVer =
    4.0;
    var verArr = reqVerStr.split(",");
    var reqVer = parseFloat(verArr[0] + "." + verArr[2]);
    if (flashVer < reqVer){
    if (confirm(msg))
    window.location =
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash";
    </script>
    </head>
    Then, assuming you have no other events in the child page's
    body tag, change
    this -
    </head>
    to this -
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    window.onload(MM_CheckFlashVersion('7,0,0,0','Content on this
    page requires
    a newer version of Adobe Flash Player. Do you want to
    download it now?');
    -->
    </script>
    </head>
    and you should be all set.
    (by the way, my example is set to check for version 7)

  • Why is the programming code showing on Khan Academy website when my daughter is logging on to do her math homework?

    My daughter is required to go into this web site (Khan Academy) to do her homework and to study for Algebra. When she logs in and goes to her particular assignment, the screen comes up in just actual code (see below).
    Anyone else get this or know how to get the web site to run the scripts correctly????
    Factoring difference of squares 2 Factoring differences of squares into the form (Ax+b)*(Ax-b)
    Factor the following expression:
    SQUAREx^2 + CONSTANT
    ^\s*\(\s*A\s*[xX]\s*\+\s*B\s*\)\s*\(\s*A\s*[xX]\s*[-\u2212]\s*B\s*\)\s*$
    ^\s*\(\s*A\s*[xX]\s*[-\u2212]\s*B\s*\)\s*\(\s*A\s*[xX]\s*\+\s*B\s*\)\s*$
    a factored expression, like (3x+1)(3x+2)

  • Embedding Video within Adobe Edge

    Hi
    I am trying to embed a video within Adobe Edge Animate. We had a solution which allowed us to place a video within a page and then click the video to expand to full screen. We have tried to use the code again but now that iOS6 has been installed the aniation crashes when the expand to full screen is clciked on the player.
    Does anyone know/have an edge example they can share
    Thanks in advance
    Andrew

    You cant.
    Emails are not the web and will never handle flash, scripting, videos etc.
    Other platforms will not do this either because its not a system feature, it is to do with how emails work.
    What you can do is have an image which links to a video on the web/page with video so people an view that.

  • How to get plain old S-video and Composite out from a MBP?

    Hi,
    this question is about someone's MacBook Pro he newly bought with adapters to get both DVI and Svideo/Composite Out.
    He got Mini DisplayPort to DVI-D converter, and a DVI-I to video converter, that cannot be plugged into a DVI-D port. Apple removed the analog capability of its adapter, that's bad. But what's badder is there doesn't seem to have any Mini DisplayPort to Svideo/Composite adapter, as there was with previous generation machines.
    How can someone easily output analog video from MBP?

    In fact, I recognize that these standards are old, which doesn't mean they're not up-to-date. Similar example, VGA connector is old, but perfectly useful, even in 2009. I recently plugged a 22" LCD with VGA and DVI on the same computer (a bland desktop PC), and there was strictly no difference. Same color depth, same crisp display. Even looking at a corner with a magnifier, nothing was different.
    So, changing standards just for the sake of it doesn't make any sense.
    Agreed that, as a pro, Apple would like me to buy their pro line, but nowhere in the pro line does an easy solution exists for S-Video and composite out. The solution you posted exists, but is unwieldly and not neat at all, if it doesn't break the Mac's connector under its weight. If a manufacturer can do this kind of adapter, Apple can do it better, and make a bigger profit out of it.
    For the adapter you posted, I don't ever buy anything that is not at least Mac+Windows compatible, or at a minimum is open-source, so anyone with programming skills can make something. The manufacturer also doesn't give a clue on how this works. I guess some sort of virtual driver sits in the system as a virtual IEEE1394 port so any program requiring FW can work transparently. Still, incompatible with the OS that most manufacturer ship their new PCs with, poor commercial decision, wether you like the OS or not.
    Adding FW in the MB unibody design wouldn't have cost anout $30. Rather, we're talking about a 25 cents chip, a 25 cents connector, which they would have rounded up to $20 and still, that was present in previous-gen MB. After all, they are indeed selling a matte screen on the MBP 17" for $50 more, despite them removing a single piece of glass which may cost, well, let's be fair, $5 to manufacture? That's dishonest. And capitalistically justified.
    So far, choosing a Mac for one's needs is no easy task: older white MacBooks have the same power as unibodies, excellent connectivity, top notch transfer speeds, BUT are heavier, as not as ecologically friendly nor do they have future-proof RAM standard. The unibodies are sleekier, easily recycled and will be able to be upgraded in the near future BUT is most likely unable to use current devices and have slower transfer speeds.
    For Pro models, the newer ones have great efficiency, much power and flexibility with their dual GPU BUT lost the option of matte screen, although their other pro-oriented monitors still default to matte. Only the 17" has the option. If a pro already finds his 15,4" bulky and with ample reserve power, will he buy the bigger and heavier 17"? Probably not.
    I understand that Apple way of doing business is keeping only what's essential with no unnecessary options (I'm looking at you, Asus, with you at least 10 different versions of you netbook). But this time, not everyone can find what he or she wants in Apple's line of laptops, as opposed to the iPod thing, where virtually any possible preference is covered.

  • How to write to a log file within a JSP

    Hello everybody,
    do you know how to write to a log file within a JSP.
    my code is (/space/SP/tlf/ExcepcionJava.jsp):
    <html>
    <body bgColor=#C4E1FF>
    <%@ page import="java.io.*" %>
    <%
         FileWriter salida = new FileWriter(response.encodeURL("log.txt"));
         salida.write(request.getParameter("errorMsg"));
         salida.close();
    %>
    </body>
    </html>.. I run under Solaris, Jrun 2.3.3
    I have also test with getServletContext().getRealPath(), but I get /netsrv/nes/docs/ instead of /space/SP/tlf/

    Hi,
    Give the full path of the log file to the FileWriter. Such as;
    FileWriter salida = new FileWriter(response.encodeURL("/usr/local/tomcat/logs/testlogs/log.txt"));

  • IOS 6: Upgraded 4s to the new OS and now videos within apps like Pulse and Safari have no sound. Checked notifications and options, restarted phone, still no go...

    I upgraded to iOS6 last week, and everything seems to be working well, except for audio playback within certain apps. I was wondering if this is in any way linked to the removal of youTube from the standard software. Within my news apps and Safari, I have absolutely no audio playback on videos. I have refreshed the 4S, restarted, and checked notifications, but no progress has been made. However, the sound is just fine elsewhere, including the youTube app, which I downloaded to troubleshoot. As of right now, if I search for a video within Safari, and it links to an embedded video, I get no sound whatsoever. If I pull up the same video within the youTube app, the sound plays just fine. Any ideas?
