You can't do it yet, without jailbreaking the iPhone. I would recommend you to wait until June and you'll probably see some new application that will actually allow you to do so.

A pointless request anyway. If you want more wallpaper create a library on your computer and sync with iTune. I have 200 wallpapers from digital blasphemy on my iPhone.

How to switch off wallpaper?

A few months ago I bought a new widescreen, flat panel monitor. When I hooked it up to my Mac, everything was great. The wallpaper I was using stretch out to fill the 1900x1200 resolution perfectly (I recently upgraded the video card to a 256MB VRAM AGP).
But a few weeks ago I made the mistake of picking a different wallpaper from the pre-installed selection. Suddenly, none of the wallpapers (even the one that was there originally) are stretching to fill the screen.
To make matters worse, when I go to choose one of the solid colors, it doesn't tile. I just get a little square of color in the middle of the screen.
Now, on all of my various Windows machines (back to Win95) I have the ability to choose any color my video card can handle and set it as the background, but it looks like OSX keeps me locked into about a dozen preset colors, and there's no way to just have the wallpaper "off," which means I have to have this completely obnoxious desktop with an image that doesn't fill the screen.
I'm getting really frustrated with the lack of "hands on" overrides offered by this OSX system, and I'm hoping that someone out there knows how to get past the simplistic "control panel" of OSX and actually get some things tweaked out.

there is a picture showing a drop down box where you can choose to fill, tile, or center. However this box does not appear for all images. I think if the image is larger than the pixel size of the display, it just does fill. Or of the image is really small, it just does tile. I'm not sure why you are not getting this selector box, but I have a guess.
After installing the new video card, did you reset the PRAM. This document shows what is stored in PRAM for Mac OS X.

In Mac OS X, there is no "background" and separate desktop image. As you noticed, even the solid colors are small images that are tiled. Here's information about adding more colors of your own.

Or, if you don't like fiddling with Xdefaults file, you can simply make urxvt transparent by executing it like "urxvt -tr -sh 20", where the number represents the transparency level. However, this is only pseudo transparency, but I like it better than resource-consuming compositing.

How do I display wallpaper across dual monitors?

I have an iMac 21.5 Mid 2011 and my second monitor is a SAMSUNG SyncMaster SA350. My iMac displays the amazing Apple Lion background and the samsung monitor displays the default Apple Galaxy background. How do I stretch across both? I thought maybe I needed a panoramic background, but it didn't move over. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Here's how I do it:
1. Download application called "Multiscape", click "Softpedia Secure Download (US)" and it will automatically start downloading
2. Get the wallpaper suitable for your dual screen.
3. Open "Multiscape"
4. Drag wallpaper file into the Multiscape and it will automatically display onto the screens.

If you want to completely delete it, you have two choices:
If you took the photo on your iPhone, you can delete it from your pictures folder on the iPhone or from the desktop.
If you synced it over from your desktop, you have to delete it from your desktop.

Settings > Wallpapers & Brightness, and then you have to tap the default wallpaper at the lower left side of the page. That takes you to another level and you can tap for more optional papers or tap your photo albums to select a photo for wallpaper.
It takes some playing around but try taping and then when you get a larger selection you can swipe through.

Unfortunately Windows 7 Starter doesnt allow you to change the wallpaper. This is a Windows limitation on Windows 7 Starter Edition. The wallpaper can only be changed on Windows 7 Home Basic or higher versions.

Hi, I have a picture on my wallpaper on my Ipad2 that I don't want to loose. It is not showing up in my photo file. I don't want to loose this picture and want to save it to my computer but it only is shown on my wallpaper screen. How did you get the picture onto your iPad in the first place? If you synced your iPad to your computer and got the photo that way it is most likely already on your computer.
If you took the photo with the iPad camera it should be in the amera roll. If you used a camera and a camera connection kit the photo will be in the all imported photo album. If you received the photo via an email it should be in your photos on your iPad.
In these last instances connect your iPad to your computer. If its a Mac then start iPhoto. If it is a PC then start up your image pasture application. You an then import to your computer the photos from your iPad.
