How to do Collective Attribute Change Run ?

Hello SDN s,
How ya all ?
I have maintained about 20 Master Data Attribute InfoPackages in a Process Chain. I planned to do a Collective Attribute Change Run, I dragged & dropped the ATTRIBUTE CHANGE RUN process from expanding the OTHER BW PROCESS TYPE created a Process Variant for that and here i got struck !!! ???
What to give in the OBJECT TYPE & OBJECT NAME entries ? In the OBJECT TYPE InfoObject is there, but what about the OBJECT NAME ? what i should select ? It is a collective one.
Faster Replies would make me to learn faster !!!

So u r saying that i have to maintain the entries for each and every InfoObject ??
Suppose, if i load the attributes for 100 InfoObjects then i have to maintain the entries for all of them ?

Goto T-code: SE38, Run program: RSDDS_CHANGERUN_MONITOR.
It will show the staus of change runs. Here you will get execute button option to execute it again.
Note: It might take bit long time to open.

Attribute Change Run terminating - repeated several times - not locked

I had a failure in my master data chain tonight. The attribute change run that ran yesterday ran for 11k seconds and was cancelled (it says manually). When the chain ran tonight, the process failed again. I checked the log and it says "UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION" and it created a short dump. I tried repeating to see if it did anything and it gave me the same message.
I went into the change run monitor and reset the status and manually tried to run the change run again. Same result "UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION".
I then checked table RSDDAGGRMODSTATE and there was no blank CNSID entries, but there was a blank "completed flag" entry. I don't have change access to the table in prod so I cannot manually change it to X (meaning closed). I reset the status again in the chagne run monitor and the record with the blank "completed flag" disappeared. I repeated the change run and it failed again and a new record with the "completed flag" being blank appeared in the RSDDAGGRMODSTATE table.
I checked SM12 and there are no locks there. I'm on 7.0 so I can't manually right click on 0CUSTOMER and activate the master data either.
As a last resort I did run the function module RSDDS_AGGR_MOD_CLOSE but that short dumped too.
Any ideas? Please? This will fail my other chains that have 0CUSTOMER in the aggregates. Thanks.

Firstly try this FM RSDDS_AGGREGATES_MAINTAIN
if not possible
Try doing it manually
Uncaught exception may come due to many reasons
IN RSA1 go to tools and select attribute change run
Check the blog it shows you how to manually do attribute change run step by Step (for BI7.0 also)

How to trigger attribute change run manaully

i need to update a master data object with new data. i have the flat file. i scheduled info package and exected DTP (datasource -
>Master data object). now I need to trigger attibute change run manually. How would i do that?

HI Ramya,
Activation master data is different than running Attribute change run.
Activate master data will only activate the master data in info object(Change the records in M version to A version.
Attribute Change Run will activate the master data in info object and updates the aggregates with new data if you have any aggregates built on this info object.
Be specific while asking the question.

I want to understand that How to make Attribute Change run alignment & Hierarchy changes in Aggregate?
I posted previously the same question but there were not good answers and i was not able to understand clearly .....
If there is Process chain XXY which makes Attribute change run for Master Data 0SPELLING ?
Now there is Aggregate TRT which includes :
0SPELLING , Fiscal Period , Purchase Product, Purchase Category ?
Now pls answer following question ?
1) Does the Process Chain XXY which makes only attribute change run alignment for 0SPELLING , Will this process chain automatically do the Change run alignment for 0SPELLING in Aggregate TRT ? YES or NO
2) If Yes, then we are just suppose to do Roll up for Aggregate TRT after Process chian XXY completes and finish job ?
3) If No, then what steps are suppose to be DONE so as to make sure that Aggregate TRT has new values and perfect values for 0SPELLING ?
Please answer and coorect if i have any wrong question....

How does attribute change run works for Aggregates and Master data?

Can anybody xplain how does the attribute change run works for Master data ?
For e.g.
There is 0spelling and it has master data
On Day 1 there are 10 records
day 2 it has 12 records
so with attribute change run this 2 new records will get added....
The values for this 12 records will added seperately in Data load
Is this how it workss
So how about Aggregates which has Master data.????

ERROR while running attribute change run.

I got an error while running the attribute change run in a process chain.
At first i got an error "The action is locked by a change run"
SO I DID THE FOLLOWING STEPS.
1.RUN ATTRIB CHANGE RUN MANUALLY IT RUN SUCCESSFULLY,but the process chain is still red.
Q1.Is there any way to link the manually run attrib chnage to process chain so that the process chain becomes Green?
2.SM12 - realease the locks and right click the pc and repeat.It didn't work
Q1.While removing the locks what should we remove,bcoz i removed all the locks?
3.I again removed the lock and repeat the process but still i didn't work.Now its chowing "SQL ERROR OCCURED WHILE ACCESSING"
So the Process chain got stuck,Can any body help me to run the attrib chnage run.

At any point in time only one attribute change run can run in the system. The other ACR's will fail due to locks. In your case, to set the process chain to green, try the following steps.
Open the messages of a failed step by right clicking on it and selecting 'display messages'.
In the opened popup click on the tab 'Chain'.
In a parallel session goto transaction se16 for table rspcprocesslog and display the entries with the following selections:
1. copy the variant from the popup to the variante of table rspcprocesslog
2. copy the instance from the popup to the instance of table rspcprocesslog
3. copy the start date from the popup to the batchdate of table rspcprocesslog
Press F8 to display the entries of table rspcprocesslog.
Now open another session and goto transaction se37. Enter RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH as the name of the function module and run the fm in test mode.
Now copy the entries of table rspcprocesslog to the input parameters of the function module like described as follows:
1. rspcprocesslog-log_id -> i_logid
2. rspcprocesslog-type -> i_type
3. rspcprocesslog-variante -> i_variant
4. rspcprocesslog-instance -> i_instance
5. enter 'G' for parameter i_state (sets the status to green).
Now press F8 to run the fm.
The above steps will help you continue with the rest of the process chain (thus avoiding manual runs) but the failed step might still remain red. Hope this helps.

Process chain best practice - attribute change runs

When building attribute change runs into Process Chains I see that there are potentially two main options to consider:
1. One to One mapping. Incorporate a separate attribute change run object type after each InfoObject has been loaded.
2. Many to One mapping. Build the process chain so that one single attribute change run occurs after all the InfoObjects have been loaded.
I would be interested to see how other people have incorporated their attribute loading into Process Chains.

We run the attribute change run twice in our daily process chain, here's our order:
- Load all master data
- Attrib change run
- Load all tx data
- Run ABAP programs that generate master data
- Attrib change run
I doubt there will be much of a performance difference if you do the change run after each master data load, but it makes the process chain a lot easier to read.

Regarding Attribute Change Run failure.

We have a process chain which contains many meta chains.
Now in each chain i mean meta chain there are attribute change runs
We have desegregated the attribute change run. is tere any method to place a check for attribute change run locks because at the last i have another attribute change run which is failing every day because of the attribute change run is still happenign in some chain.
how do i implement it?

Hi Janardhan,
In master data process chain where you have added process of attribute change, just insert a program before this process:
The program is: RSDDS_CHANGERUN_MONITOR
This program will check for any another attr change run running at that time and if there's any other attr change run runnning locking the object which your next attr change run requires then this program will not allow your attr change run to run.
Once all the locks all cleared for attr change run it will trigger the next node.
This program has a do loop which keeps on checking until unless locks are cleared.

A type "Attribute Change Run" process has to follow process "Execute InfoPackage" var.ZPAK_4DLO5GB778XTBBM57040KMRW4 in the chain

Hierarchy/ Attribute Change Run

Hello Gurus,
I am loading data into one infoobject which is having attributes, text and hierarchy. But after loading data into that info object, if I check in tools -> Apply Hierarchy/Attribute change Run, for that same infoObject it is showing blank.
How do I get that infoobject into tools -> Apply Hierarchy/Attribute change Run -> info objects list???

I am doing the same, I am trying to load data. It is getting loaded in the characteristic but I am not able to see that infoobject in apply hierarchy/ attribute change run.
In manage tab I can see that request with ready for reporting.

Attribute Change Run and Editing BI data

Hello Experts,
I have two questions.(They are not related to each other).
Can BI data(Infocube data) be edited?
For eg GL account in R/3 is changed from 100 to 2100. I want to know how can this be handled in BI.
Attribute Change Run in the process chain ends with error.
"Master data characteristic ZACCTNUM activated in 6 seconds. Error while activating characteristic   ZACCTNUM ". There are no more information.
   The BWREMOTE user has the authorisation to Execute Change Run.
   What could be the possible reasons for this failure.

Regarding your questons:
1. You can't edit the data directly in the cube. If you have incorrect data in the cube and the data is still in the PSA you can edit the incorrect data in the PSA and you can then delete the incorrect requests from the cube. You can then reload the correct data from the PSA. If its not an option to delete individual requests you could delete the incorrect data using the selective deletion option (if you can select on the incorrect data in the cube). You could then reload the correct data from PSA or source system.
2. Please check the infoobject ZACCTNUM is active in RSD1. If it is there may be an inconsistency with the data in the infoobject ZACCTNUM, please check if the solution part of the SAP note 1033721 can help you in this case.

Attribute change run error in daily job (BI 7.0 SP 23)

We are facing an Attribute Change Run error in one of our daily batch job.we donnot see any locks in SM12.and a dump occurs in ST22.we also donnot have any master data load running at that time .We executed the the FM RSDDS_AGGR_MOD_CLOSE,but the Change run error occurs frequently .How to get the root cause of this issue as we donnot have any master data load running at that time.

If you are sure that your master data is 0MATERIAL then GOTO-RSA1>Tools in Top>Select Attribute Hiearchy Change Run>Select Info Object List>Select 0MATERIAL>Execute.Then message "Attribute/Hierarchy change run scheduled" will appear in the Tab on your User ID.Once its finished your masterdata is activated.
For Activate Master Data we can do another method like "Right click on the particular Infoobject which need to activate and click "Activate Master Data".
The above steps is for manual activation of master data changes..
If you want to automaize the above steps "Need to add Attribute/Hierarchy Change Run" in the process chain.When execution of Processchain it will activate all the master data in the list one by one and also realign the Aggregates which using the master data objects.

Error in process chain with attribute change runs

We have one warning is coming in one process chain :A type "Attribute Change Run" process cannot precede process "Execute InfoPackage"
We checked the Process View , we found that there are number of attribute change run after each scheduling of Info package with different datasource but for same data target.
How to remove this warning .
Some onsite person has added this extra Attribute Change Run recently.

If it is the same Info-object that is getting loaded through different Info-packages then have only 1 "Attribute Change Run" process at the end. You can ignore the warning.
