How to do lookup to master data in self transformation

Could any one please help me on this
i have created a self transformation for 0TCTUSERNM in the transformation i need to write an end routine to look up to charecterstic ABC in order to populate its attributes to 0TCTUSERNM

there is a charecterstic ABC which has all the master data its key field is only one that is user
from ABC we are trying to load data to 0TCTUSERNM where it has two key fields SISID and TCTUSER
we have mapped from ABC keyfield user to TCTUSER of 0TCTUSERNM
requirement given is
build a transformation from ABC to 0TCTUSERNM
secondly build aself transformation for 0TCTUSERNM where it has to look up to ABC to get all its attributes to 0TCTUSERNM
Note : ABC is having all the attributed filled for all user
where as 0TCTUSERNM couild have several records of same user from different source systems
ex : in ABC we have an user called TOM , in 0TCTUSERNM we could have 5 records for TOM
like TOM Source System 1
                                                                                TOM Source system 2
                                                                                TOM source system 3   etc
So initially when we do a transformation from ABC to 0TCTUSERNM
we can only get one record updated
but wht about the attributes of other 4 records of TOM
for that we want to do self transformation for 0TCTUSERNM where we want to look up to ABC to fill all records
Please tell me if i am not clear

I have datasource (Legacy not R3) where I am getting both master data and text for number of infoobjects.
I dont want separate datasources.
The datasource is actually transactional datasource.
I dont need text in the cubes or DSO I need the text tables of the infoobjects to be updated.
I could find this on SDN but do anyone have document based on the below link.I was not able to find it.

I guess yr req is demanding the knowledge of Data Unification and Synchronization whose scope is a bit outer the area of BW.( its MDM actually )
In BW we could very well fetch data out of different data sources (even across the different system) with no issues so why not u trying that. if there is any issue implementing that then please specify what kind of trouble you are interfacing...

How are attribute and text master data tables linked in SAP R/3?

Hello,
how are attribute and text master data tables linked in SAP R/3?
Most tables with attribute master data like T001 for company codes,
have a text master data table T001T (add "T" to table name).
When looking at the content of table T001 via transaction se11,
the text are automatically joined.
But for some tables there is no "T"-table (e.g. table TVBUR for sales offices
has no text table TVBURT), but in se11 you get texts. There is an address
link in TVBUR, but the Name1, etc. are empty.
a) Where are the text stored?
b) How does the system know of the link?

The master and text table are not linked by name, of course, if you see the text table, it has the same key fields of master table, only it has the field key spras and the field for description.
The link beetween the tables is done by foreign key: if you check the text table TVKBT u need to see how the foreign key for field VKBUR is done:
-> Foreing key with table TVBUR
-> Foreing key field type -> KEY FIELD FOR A TEXT TABLE
->Cardinality-> 1-:CN
It's very important the attribute sets for Foreing key field type, if it's KEY FIELD FOR A TEXT TABLE, it'll mean the table is a text table: i.e. that mean the master table is a check table for the text table, where the foreign key type is for text table.
U can find out the text table of master table by SE11: GoTo->Text Table
U can fined some information in table DD08L.

Hi Shalini,
To trigger IDoc these configurations should be done in the SAP 4.6, XI and ECC 6.0.
SAP XI
1) RFC Destination (SM59)
a) Choose create.
b) Specify the name of the RFC destination
c) Select connection type as 3 and save
d) In the technical settings tab enter the details SAP SID/URL and system number#.
e) Enter the Gateway host as same details above SID/URL.
f) Gateway service is 3300+system number#.
g) In the Logon /Security tab, enter the client user & Password details of Destination system.
h) Test the connection and remote logon.
2) Create Port (IDX1)
a) Select create new button
b) Enter the port name as SAP+SID (The starting char should be SAP)
c) Enter the destination client.
d) Enter the RFC Destination created in SAP R/3 towards other system.
e) Save
3) Load Meta Data for IDOC (IDX2)
a) Create new
b) IDOC Message Type
c) Enter port created in IDX1.
SAP R/3 (4.6 and ECC 6.0)
1) RFC Destination (SM59)
a) Choose create.
b) Specify the name of the RFC destination
c) Select connection type as 3 and save
d) In the technical settings tab enter the details SAP SID/URL and system number#.

a) First Select Transactional RFC and then click create button
b) Enter the destination port name as SAP+SID (The starting char should be SAP)
c) Enter the destination client.
d) Enter the RFC Destination created in SAP R/3 towards other system.
e) Save
3) Create Partner Profile (WE20)
a) Create New
b) Create the Partner no. name as same the logical system name of the destination system.
c) Select Partner type LS
d) Enter details for Type: US/USER, Agent, and Lang.
e) Click on the + button to select the message type.
f) Select Partner no. and LS which ever create above.
g) Select Message type
h) Select Process code related to the Message type.
I) save.

U need to import the IDoc types both inbound and outbound to XI.
1. Create Inbound and Outbound Message interface.
2. Do one to one message mapping.
3. Define an Interface mapping.

1. Create 1 Sender aggrement.
2. Create 1 Receiver aggrement.
3. Define 1 RD and ID.
4. Only create an receiver IDoc CC.

I can't create infosource for attribute-only Charactertic via direct update from Infoobject, because attribute-only Charactertics you can't choose from available infoobject.

I soloved the problem. I can input the attribute-only char directly in the text box instead of choosing from list of infoobjects, but I still can't find the char in infoobject selection dialog even using search.

How to collective read PP master data in Production order?

Read PP master data is only to update routing and BOM in production order if it is already created to effect the changesmade in routing and BOM. I think in that collective option is not possible.

Read Master Data in BW Transformation

Hi,
     I am using BW 740 SP02 and I need in a transformation rule to use the option "READ MASTER DATA", In fact this enables me to use all attributes of an infoObject and affect them to my data target ( Infocube).
     I was wondering if there would be any possibility to affect also master data text of an infoObject and affect them to a data target?
I know that master data text are available through Bex queries, but for my case I need to have them in my Infocube.

Using standard rule type this is not possible
However there are two ways to achieve this:
1. you use abap routine to read the text value from text table of info object (BIC/Txxx) in transformation
2. a. add a char info object to your master data
    b. create another transformation from text data source to populate this new field (which is actually text)
    c. create DTP to populate this new field with text values
    d. now you can easily use, 'read master data' rule in transformation and assign the text field to your target field

LookUp for Master Data

Hello All,
I have an Infobject say 0MATERIAL which has two Navigational Attributes say MATERIAL1 and MATERIAL2.
These are part of Master Data. My objective is to have MATERIAL1 and MATERIAL2 in my cube so that I can directly report on these without having to go drilling.
I have 0MATERIAL, MATERIAL1 and MATERIAL2 in my cube, but the twist is 0MATERIAL is mapped to 0PLANT (say). Is it possible that I can escape from the LookUp or is it mandatory. I have tried the "Master Data Attribute of " option in the Update rules, this does'nt seem to work some how.
If LookUp is mandatory can some one help me with the ABAP part of the scenario.
I assure full points.

1. 0MATERIAL has no Compounded attributes in the infoobject definition
2. MATERIAL1 and MATERIAL2 have no Compounded attributes either
3. MATERIAL1 and MATERIAL2 are attributes of 0MATERIAL
4. 0MATERIAL, MATERIAL1, and MATERIAL2 are all characteristics of your cube

If this is so, then in your update rules for MATERIAL1 (and MATERIAL2), you should be able to map it as "Master data Attribute of" 0MATERIAL.
0MAT_PLANT should not factor into the equation just because 0MATERIAL is an attribute.

You can either specify the time period in the filtering area of infospoke or you can implement a transformation BAdI -OPENHUB_TRANSFORM to manipulate the data whichever way that suites your requirement. All time dependent infobjects have datefrom and dateto fields which you can use to choose your data range accordingly.

How to restrict Internal Order master data changes

Hi Experts,
We have internal orders that have no Functional Area assigned to it at the beginning of the month, but part way through the month a change is made to the master data and a Functional Area gets assigned to the internal order. When settlement is run at the end of the month, part of the internal order has a FA blank and part of the internal order has a FA of OPEX or G&A depending on what was assigned in the master data. This causes an issue because they don't offset.
Typically if no change was made to the master data during the month, all the transactions to the internal order with FA blank would offset and there would be no issues on settlement.
So, how can we control in the system that does not allow changes?.

If FA is not needed at all in the IO- hide that field in the order type screen layout.
Otherwise, restrict the authorization to someone who understands the criticality of it
Last resort, implement user exit which won't allow to add FA if transaction data exists. You can search for the exits as COOPA* in SMOD

I am new to BW.I try to execute the 'Time dependant Attribute' into BW.in my scenario my source system must give me the data like "salesrep ID,Manager ID,Date to,Date from,Sales region". I like to know how to define this master data in SAP R/3(Source system)?. Give me the steps to create master data table in R/3.
Manager may change periodically.even i need to maintain all the changes in R/3.

built-in type method means.,
there is no need to create data element and domain objects seperately for each and every field of the table which ever you are creating, system will implicitly fix the size based on the data type you selected....

Abap in Transfer Structure to lookup in Master Data

How to find all the Master data extract structures and Extractors

I intend to create Master data dimensions closely similar to SAP BI in a 3rd party system. I would like to use SAP's standard extractors for populating the master data structures in SAP BI and then use a proprietary technology to create similar structures in a 3rd party database.
Question: How to get a complete list of all Master data extract structures and corresponding extractors?
Example: In ECC if I do SE80 and give 'Package' and 'MDX' and then press the 'display' spectacles, I get a list of structures and views under "dictionary objects" covering Material, Customer, Vendor, Plant Texts and attributes.
How do I get the remainder of the Master data extract structures viz. Purchase Info Records, Address, Org Unit etc?

Hi,
try the table ROOSOURCE and search the data source with string in astrick attr for master data and for text with text
This will give you the list of all the master data source in the system and it contains a column which tells about the extract structure and function module used by each.
