How to do manual back up in conjunction with T.M.

hello
i want to use time machine to perform ongoing back ups of my entire account. however, there is one grouping of files that has to be manually dragged to my back up drive on a daily basis.
my question is:
if time machine backs up account until drive is full then deletes oldest, how will i be able to also manually store the other files to the drive if there is no space? is there some kind of preferences workaround? or do i need to partition the BU drive?

I just got a new time capsule and I'm trying to set it up so that I can remotely access the files when I'm at work/on the go etc. Now I have an iCloud account, but I don't have a MobileMe account. I do have an @me.com address because I enabled Mail thru the iCloud pref pane and I setup the @me.com email address but I'm still not able to use back to my mac.

How do I go back to default Open With application in /Library/Mail/cache

Help! I was trying to find a mailbox that got deleted. In looking at /Library/Cache/Mail/ to see if the mailbox was there, I tried to open a cache. There was no application to open the document, so I clicked Mail Document, or something--I don't even know what I clicked. The cache did not open, but all the caches in the group now say Mail Document, and Open With: Mail. I am afraid I screwed up some important files in my computer. How do I get the files back to their original settings?

There seems to be no way to make it say <none> again, if you set it to something. First, it may be fine with it set to something, since you would normally never double-click on those files. But you may be able to change it back to the "default" setting by using a System Preferences extension called RCDefaultApp.

This installs as a new pane in System Preferences. It has an Extensions tab. If cache shows up as one of the extensions, try setting it to <default> or, if that doesn't work, <disable>.

If you would like to startup the Oracle instance using a batch file then first create a SQL file (say ABC.SQL) wherein enter the following two lines:
connect internal/<INTERNAL_PASSWORD>
STARTUP
<INTERNAL_PASSWORD> above is the password for the INTERNAL user account (default password is "oracle")
Then create a batch file (say START.BAT) and enter the following single line:
<ORACLE_HOME>\bin\svrmgrl @<ABC_DIR>\ABC.SQL
where <ORACLE_HOME>\bin\svrmgrl is the full path of the SVRMGRL.EXE executable and <ABC_DIR> is the directory in which you have placed the ABC.SQL file.
Now you can startup the Oracle database by simply double-clicking on the START.BAT batch file.

How do I manual add music to Ipad with Itunes 12

I can't figure out how to add music manually when synced to my itunes 12. I could just drag the song to the ipad icon in previous versions to add, but it doesn't appear to work the same way with this latest version.
What am I missing?

I don't have the latest version of iTunes, but on a hunch, do you have iTunes configured to Manually Manage Music and Videos in the settings?

How do I use Back to My Mac with other iCloud users?

Under MobileMe, I had a family account. I had the main account, and my mother and father, had email only accounts. Also, as I am the unofficial tech support to some friends, I had their Airport base stations registered under my MobileMe account so I could configure and update them remotely.
I've upgraded myself and my parents to free iCloud accounts. I have an admin account on each of their Macs, but both are set to log into their own accounts on startup.
Now I can't see them in my list of Shared resources in the Finder's sidebar. I have no way of connecting with them, except via iChat, which is (in my experience) less reliable and requires more effort on my parents' part.
Is there a way I can configure iCloud on my Mac or theirs, so that we all appear in each other's Shared list as before?

Unfortunately, Back to My Mac only works across computers using the same iCloud account.

I started a thread about the same thing. I never had a MobileMe account, and I'm having a lot of issues trying to set this up. I have contacted apple, and they have been very nice to try to figure it out, but even they say a lot of what iCloud offers is new to them. I will let you know if I hear anything.

The ringtones purchased on iTunes simply disappeared from the iPhone 4S, were visible for a while on iTunes on the iMac, when the iPhone was connected but greyed out, I can't see it anymore though. I've tried to download it again from iTunes on the iPhone, but it only tells me "this item has been purchased before, would you like to buy it again?". Of course I don't want to pay twice something I've already paid for. Any idea how to get this fixed so I can use those ringtones again? Thanks in advance!

Uncheck them in the iTunes > Tones sync settings and sync, then check them again and sync.

How to restrict Manual entry in G/L with automatic Postings

We have a house bank account and have its three subsidiary account incoming, PDC and outgoing account. now whenever a user enter an incoming entry he has to do incoming debit and customer credit but some times as there is no blockage they mistakenly enter Main account instead of Incoming. We take the authorization of main account from them but it stops them from making reconciliation through ff67 or feban. Now please suggest what we do to stop them making manual entry in house bank account.

When the initial page is closed and new tab is opened. How can I get back my google dropdown with previous searches.

When I double click my desktop icon Mozilla Firefox. It comes back with Firefox Start screen with google search. When you go to the rightside of the text box and left click. Its gives you a dropdown window with previous searches. When the google toolbar is on, if you click on a new search. It does give a google search text box, but the downdrop searches previously done is blank or no entry on the dropdown. Before once you click the new google search, the dropdown window is populated with previous searches. Its important for me to see previous searches I did. I hope you can help me. Did you have a shortcut to the website on your iPad home screen? If that is what you want to create again, navigate to that website in Safari and then tap the arrow icon next to the address/URL field at the top of the Safari toolbar. Form the window that will pop up, select - Add to Home Screen. That will put an icon on your home screen that will allow you to open directly to that page in Safari when you tap on it.

I am trying to remove a single song from my kids Ipod 5th gen ipod with itunes 11.0.1.2. With older versions of itunes i was able to right click on the content that i wanted to remove and select delete. If you backed up your phone to iTunes after you received the messages but before you deleted them, you can restore your phone to that back up. If not, I believe they are gone forever.
