How to do mass installation of MAM applications on to Laptops

Hi All,
Is there any simple procedure to install MAM 3.0 applications on to Laptops. We need to install and configure the Mobile applicationss on more than 300 Laptops. Is there any better method which helps us achieving this quickly.
Appreciate your help.
SAP MI Client: 7.0 with SP 15
NW: 7.0
MAM 3.0 with SR05
Backend: ERP 2005.

i have been through some material where he is saying that MAM 3.0 works fine with MI7.0 SP18.

If you go to the iPhone DEV area on Apple.com you can get a installer app once you are a developer. This installer will let you use apps for your own use. This installer app also supports up to X amount of phones you can install the application on. I thought it was set at 100 but could be now up to 500.

According to the manual you need to check "Configuring Password Protection" in Oracle Database Security Guide
In the security guide http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/network.111/b28531.pdf, section 3-9/p61, you'll see you need to alter the script UTLPWDMG.SQL. You''l find the script in ORA_HOME/rdbms/admin.
You'll need to change the script to your own liking.

Dear Ruturaj,
Your question is not clear, but assuming that you want to enhance/ customize / troubleshoot MAM. Please download / take/ request your admistrator to give you the MAM eclipse war file which includes the full source of MAM. Now, once you have the .war file in your HDD, import this as a new MI project (File->Import). Now you will be able to modify/edit/ build customized version similar to a smart sync app.

Create Installer Fail, but Application success. HELP, URGENT!

I met a strange problem. My labview 8.5 PDS failed to create Installer, yet the application can be built and run. When I want to create the installer, no information in the "Additional Installer", and no *.bld files created. When I want to build it, some error information reported as below:
"CDK_Build_Invoke.vi.ProxyCaller >> CDK_Build_Invoke.vi >> CDK_Engine_Main.vi >> CDK_Engine_PreBuild.vi >> CDK_Validate_DistParts.vi >> CDK_DistParts_GetInstalledProducts.vi >> NI_MDF.lvlib:MDFProdInfoList_Open.vi" .
When I tried to create a simple vi show a random number, the application can run, the installer can not be built. The error information changed: "CDK_Build_Invoke.vi.ProxyCaller >> CDK_Build_Invoke.vi >> CDK_Engine_Main.vi >> CDK_Engine_PreBuild.vi >> CDK_Validate_DistParts.vi >> CDK_DistParts_GetInstalledProducts.vi >> NI_MDF.lvlib:MDFCommon_Open.vi".
Additional Information: Before I re-install my windows xp, the Labview Application Builder worked.

MaGH, I've having a very similar issue with LV2009.
The build was unseccessful.

How to execute "Mass Compile" in my own Installshield?

I have to create my own distribution with
Installshield.
I don't know how to run automatically the Mass Compile at the end of the installation procedure.

You will need to create a VI that calls the "Mass Compile" VI Server Application Method. Have install shield launch this VI via a command line and have the VI set to "run when opened".

How do I troubleshoot installation/distribution of a LabVIEW .exe which processes data using Matlab when it works on some computers but not others?

I've been given the unenviable task of troubleshooting and installing/distributing software written by a former co-worker. I've modified the LabVIEW code and built an .exe file. I've successfully installed the Labview .exe file on several computers, but it won't work on some others. What's more baffling is that I installed it successfully on one computer, uninstalled it, and tried reinstalling it with no success. In fact, it's a new error (Dr. Watson for Windows NT application error). It doesn't help that I have different versions of LabVIEW and Matlab on the target computers. Some have LabVIEW 5.1, some
have 5.0, and some don't have it at all. Some have Matlab 5.2, some have 5.3 (R11) and some have 6.0 (R12). It's also not clear to me where the Matlab m files should be located. I'm not sure if it's a LabVIEW Runtime Engine problem, or if it's a Matlab problem. I've also wondered how LabVIEW and Matlab talk to each other. When LabVIEW calls Matlab, it seems that Matlab is running in the background. In other words, clicking on the Matlab Command Window and typing "whos" or any other command/variable doesn't work.

If I am not mistaken, you had already aksed this question.
Dont tune anything unless you have any performance problem.
If you dont have anything to measure, who do you test your performance?
Installed statspack, scheduled it for 15 min.
Take the statspack report of your peak business load hrs. and analyze the report.
If anybody complains that the perticular query or report is slow, take that and tune it.
My advice is not to go for overtuning, when there is not really performance issues.
Since you are new, understand the work flow of the application and its architecture first.

How to include libraries properly in an application

I am working on a project that uses an external device.
I installed software for this device that includes drivers and libraries (.dlls) to be used with LabView.
To communicate with the device, I use the "create Active-X object" block.
As the Active-X input, I create a new input and pick the right class from the drop down list.
This does not add any dll files to the dependencies of the project.
LabView seems to be assuming that the necessary files are there.
I want to install this application on another computer that does not necessarilay have the software for the device installed.
My application fails. There's no error message of any missing library whatsoever.
I have to add the necessary libraries manually.
How should I do this?
1) I could add the library files to the project directly.
2) I could add the library files to the installer off my application, so that they are properly installed along with my application.
I'm not sure how to do this.
How do I tell the installer to install* the library files?
(* what I mean with that is to place them in the proper folder. Sure, the application folder is also searched for dlls upon execution but that means every application has its own dll, which seems to be a bad approach)
3) I could add the Redistributable .exe file to the installer of my application as an installer.
I'm not sure how to do this either.
Should I add the .exe file to the project, copy it to some location(which one?) during installation and then execute that file after the installer finished?
Or should I add this installer to the list of "additional installers"? It seems like one can only add NI installers. How do I add mine?
Or is there another way I should do this?

Nope, files in Temp are not automagically deleted by default. What you could do instead is either invoke the installer directly from your install media using a relative path or you could write a good 'ol batch file and invoke that instead at the end of your installer. This would start the actual driver installer and wait for it to finish. Then cleanup whatever needs to be cleaned up afterwards.

How to remove in Lyon a powerpc application non-compatible

I installed an Maxtor App, and I didn't know it was a PowerPC app, after this I've been receiving a message I can't remove: "NotificationExec can not be open because PowerPC apps are not longer compatible". Somebody knows how to remove the message, after the application has been removed...

Have you deleted the Maxtor app already? If so, I suspect you didn't succeed in deleting it completely, and NotificationExec was left behind.
If the Maxtor app used an installer program, run that installer again and reinstall the Maxtor software. Then run the installer again and look for an "uninstall" option in it. If you find one, run it.
If the Maxtor software didn't use an installer program, go to System Prefs > Accounts, select the account you normally use, and click the Login Items tab. Is NotificationExec or anything else that you recognize as part of the Maxtor software listed among your Login Items? If so, delete it from the list.

Hello,
You can mass print all your 100 Purchase orders using transcation ME9F
Go to transaction ME9F, enter the purchase order as much as possible with the help of multiple selection Tab. You have 'Set Filter' with the help of selection criteria like purchasing orgainsation, purchasing group, document type etc. Once done you can choose, Select all option in the application toolbar and click the print option.
With this all selected PO will be printed.
Note: Please check the processing status before executing the print

Hi,
well, we had this issue as well - it is not possible to tell the PDA to switch off the address bar by default. I have not checked all entries in REGISTRY - but there was a much more easy way.
If you have access to Visual Studio - it takes you 5minutes to solve that issue.
1.) create a project for PDA.
2.) place the browser control into the screen of the PDA
3.) change the settings and parameters so it fits your needs
4.) create the app

Reason: IE on the PDA is a control that is available by microsoft. Well, and if you write your own application you can place this control into any PDA app and you can size it in almost every way you like. The control has exactly the same functionality then the IE - but it is pre configurable - so you can get rid of your address and status bar for example. Furthermore with a little more coding, you can catch the backspace events from the keyboard and prevent the browser from browse one page back - what could cause issues.... but then you need to do some additional coding.
Only thing then: user needs to start your App instead of IE - but this should be ok I think.

If you stay with the original browser - then the user has to tab the screen until the option window opens and has to switch to full screen - .... well, not really what you like I think.

I believe the limit on how any times an application can be installed has been removed, but, as it stands, there is no limit to the number of installations you can have... just the number of activated installations. For what it sounds like you are doing, there is should not be an issue of hitting a limit even if there is one.
If you are reinstalling on new machines then you probably want to deactivate the current installations before you attempt to activate on the new machines.
