How to do non-random camera shake or pulsating effect.

I already know the expression for switching between random values at a fixed rate but is there an expression or quick way to tell after effects to switch between two set values? I'm trying to do a pulsating effect where the video clip scales over and over between 100 and 102 percent for a few seconds. I'd also like for it to increase and decrease in intensity over time. This isn't a shake, it's a pulse, so I don't want it to be random, it looks strange.
What i've been doing is creating individual keys, copying and pasting. This is very time consuming and so far I haven't achieved the look I want. I know it's possible but it's annoying that i can't just tell after effects to switch between those values at such and such a rate. The expression I've tried is great it's just that the values added are random.
I've also keyed in a radial blur that goes on when the video scales to 102 so it looks like a motion blur. I also have to copy and paste these values.
Anyway, I hope that makes sense and there's a quicker way to do this. BTW im using cs4

Could be as simple as a sinus, could be as complicated as using elaborate valueAtTime() constructs. If it's a regular interval, simply create your prototype keyframes and apply a loopOut("cycle") expression.

Here's an overview of motion tracking and stabilization.
    Step-by-step instructions are here.
The basic idea is that you track a point that shouldn't be moving, and then you apply the motion tracking data to the tracked layer to compensate for the motion. It's pretty easy, actually.

  • How,can,I,adjust,the,camera,settings,on,my,2009,Mac,to,16:9,format?

I want to use the camera on my 2009 iMac to shoot some footage for a video project. The project is in 16:9 wide screen. How can I adjust the camera to shoot in this format?

Thanks for letting us know your questions was answered!  A few other thoughts....
RobertofLadywellVillage wrote: ...the video from the i-sight camera is still in 4:3 format so I suppose that it simply can't produce video in  16:9...
True, the viewed camera image is always 4:3 with your old iMovie 6 HD, but experiment a bit.
Some of the iMovie 6 video formats you can select when you create your iSight clips in the separate iSight project can create a 16:9 frame.  That frame will contain your 4:3 iSight image but be filled out to 16:9 with symmetrical black bars on the left and right sides of the image.  These clips will be importable into your widescreen project.  Although the portions recorded on your iSight will contain the black bars that keep the 16:9 aspect ratio you need, you should be able to include both the iSight captured video and your other video clips in the same 16:9 final product.
If you have a 16:9 digital cameras that can record the clips, use that to get the format you need and better image quality than iSight can provide.
However, if you really need to record 16:9 iSight video, and if your Mac has QuickTime Player (version 10.x), try using QTX.  After you open a "New Movie Recording" window, QTX can change camera recording aspect ratios by using its Preference controls as shown in this image of the :
If you really need to use an iSight to capture widescreen video that is not block-filled, another option would be to use a later iMovie version that can record widescreen views of your inbuilt camera. I use iMovie '11 to do this, but, if you don't already have later versions, be sure to check System Requirements for later iMovies before you buy to see if they can work with your Mac OS version.

  • Camera shake filter missing in Photoshop CC

I have dowloaded the Trial version of Photoshop CC in Spanish and everything is fine with one exception: the camera shake filter option does not appear on the list of options.
    Has anybody had this problem?
If yes, how to solve it?
    Thank you for your help
    Ben

Just in case you don't know where camera shake reduction is supposed to be in photoshop cc:

  • Disable auto launch for non apple cameras?

iPhoto launches automatically with non-iOS cameras, how do I disable?
    (no application is selected)

    Disable it in Image Capture.
With your camera or card reader connected launch Image Capture. Select the camera in the sidebar.
In the lower left corner of the window is a disclosure triangle. There you can also set which app should open for each camera. You will have to do this for each card you are using with your cameras.

  • IPhone randomly starts playlist in non-random mode

I've been having a weird problem with my iPhone 4 for a while now and am wondering if anyone has seen the same behavior.
Periodically I will resume playback of one of my smart playlists and notice that the iPhone is playing the music in non-random mode, I will hear one song after another from the same artist. If I display the playback status then I can see that random mode is in fact selected.
Toggling random off and back on fixes the problem.
It's possible that this is in some way related to using a number of different car kits (I have several different vehicles) but I'm not really sure of this.
    Is this a known bug?
I actually had my iPhone completely swapped out not too long ago and the problem came over to the new one, so I know the hardware is not the problem.

    1. I have not had this happen to me as of yet, but I would say turn match off and then back on or you can do a hard reset to see if that fixes it.  the last option I would take is to restore from a backup, and that should fix it.
2.I have not seen this happen either.  Again, I would say do a hard reset and see if the problem persists.  If it persists then delete the sluggish app and redownload it from the app store and see if that fixes the problem.
    3. I have found that itunes seems to be sluggish a little with match on.  they defininely need to give it an update.  Lets all hope for a new itunes this year.  I don't think there is a fix for this.
    4. Don't have the answer for this either.  I know itunes really sorts by artist and most of the time if I don't intentially put the album artist in then itunes does not do it for me.
    5. Album artwork does kinda come and go, but if you have it attached to the music file then it's just a glitch that will get fixed as apple contiunes to issue updates and fixes for these common problems and yes artwork is a common problme just look through the threads and you will see it come up very frequently.
    Hope I helped.

  • How to connect my dv camera to my mac and make movies?

i just got my new macbook and dont no how to connect my dv camera to it...i got a software disc for my dv cam but it doesnt run automatically and i dont no how to install it....it is usb connection...do i need fire wire?...help me plz help...getting frustrated ...is the any sites that help with macs ..cuz im use to pc...dont no anything bout macs...thanks so much!!!

    Hello,
It would be helpful to know what camera you are trying to connect and what exactly you are trying to do with it.
In regards to firewire vs usb i only really have experience with firewire so i can not help you there unfortunatetly.
If you are just trying to get the video footage off the camera you could try and open up iMovie from within you applications folder. Attached the camera, my iMac is currently in for repairs so i can quite tell you the whole thing but look for options of attached cameras.
The reason why the cd doesnt autorun is that it is probably window software, does the disk specifically state Mac OS X?. If you double click on the cd it should open up in a window. Have a look around for any Mac folders or any obvious applications that you can run.
