Follow the instructions on this  HP document.
This is a link to your notebook's web suport portal. The drivers for Grahhics adapter , fingerprint validity sensor and touchpad can be found at the Driver & software download section. Intall the driver that match your operating system and installed hardware. Don't forget to install the HP Support Assistant. It can be quite helpful.
Kind regards,

HOW TO USE CLIPS FROM A DVD???
i know this may be a stupid and obvious question but i can't seem to figure it out.
these are not copyrited dvds... mostly home movies and old home movies put onto dvd.
    thank you... much appreciated.

Studio X has given one suggestion.
    MPEG Streamclip is another:-
    http://www.squared5.com/
It is free but your computer may not have the QT MPEG 2 Playback Component which costs $20 from Apple as a download.
If you have access to an Analogue-DV converter you can use that. Also a DV camcorder which has Analogue IN.
If you have Final Cut Pro installed, you will have the QT component.

  • How to use Recovery DVD to install new copy of OS and CUSTOM PARTITIONS?

    Hi
I have problem with start appropriate recovery function from created Thoshiba Recovery DVD.
I burn two DVD using Toshiba Media Recovery Creator witch was preinstalled on my computer. Now I want to use it to install new copy of Windows 7 OS on my laptop. BUT I would not want to clear entire HDD. I want to format only C: partition, and leave data on my D: partition. Also I want to define C: partition size.
When I insert DVD and boot form it, some app start but display info that all partition will be removed. I can not choose another option.
    How can I do it?

  • [U310] How to use recovery DVDs

In windows 8, it is impossible to create recovery DVDs with Lenovo OneKey Recovery 8.0.
The option has been eliminated. WHY?
Now I ordered the DVDs, but I don't know how to use it !! What I did was:
    -  Since U310 has not DVD drive, I create ISO file and burn it to USB drive using UltraISO.
    - BIOS: RAID, Legacy support, boot USB HDD,
But I still get CD/ROM  error while product recovery. Why?
Anyone could help? any other settings needed?
Or the very latest BIOS version of 65CN99WW not support USB HDD image?
thanks in advance for any hints.

    thanks Solid Cruver,
the USB was bootable, and according to your post:
    ‎09-10-2013 05:28 PM
    Inside BIOS
        Under Boot Tab
              Change Boot mode to Legacy
               USB Boot should be enabled
        Under Security
Secure Boot Has to Be disabled
In case the options above are grayed out in your BIOS, Got to Exit Tab and Change OS Optimized Default to Other OS
    and check the options again.
Once All are Set Make sure to save all changed by hitting F10 and enter for Yes
After Hitting enter It will Restart and You have to keep on tapping F12
this should pull up the Boot Menu letting you select where to boot. You should have now your USB Stick as an Option.
The security boot choice can only be found under UEFI boot. But what I need is Boot mode to Legacy, and boot to Legacy first with USB. i.e. if I choose Legacy boot, the security setting will not appear, so I think it will set back to eanabled to prevent other OS installation?
Do I need to choose AHCI and iRST off? Any other tricky things? any priority of the 3 USB ports?

  • How to ensure recovery DVDs will work?

I just purchased an A505-S6005 and first thing, created the recovery DVDs. Is there a way to check the DVDs to make sure they will work if I should need them later? It makes me a little nervous to have to create them myself. Thanks!

Toshiba doesn't do much of anything right when it comes to supporting their systems.  I agree that a better way of testing the disks would be good, but it's doubtful they will ever implement such a system.  They sell way too many laptops and because of this they won't change their way of doing things because they don't think they need to.  If they really cared about their users they would be prompted to create the disks as soon as the system fires up for the first time with an either make them now or remind me in two days (for those people who don't have blank disks ready to go).
In my case I had created a complete backup image of the hard drive to an external hard drive so I was covered i they didn't work.
If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

  • How do you capture from a DVD

I was told you can capture from DVD using Adobe Premiere. How do you play the DVD to allow capture?

I've also found that Tsunami's authoring suite is rather handy for this. It will allow you to pull source material from a DVD and encodes it to a 720x480 MPEG-2 that pulls right into Premiere without issue. (Just watch out for the AC-3 encoding on some of the audio files).
Just my two cents, but why go DV-AVI when the file is already in distribution state (DVD) --

  • How to make recovery dvd from original lion

    hi
i buyed the new macbook pro with lion software 1- why  there is no cd comes withet 2-how can i make a recovery cd 3- why lion is not at list of purched software at apple store if apple sale the hardware with that
    tanks

Computers that now come with Lion pre-installed do not require a disc. They would be restored via the Internet Recovery system: OS X Lion- About Lion Recovery. You can create an emergency Recovery HD volume on a USB flash drive using the OS X Lion: About Lion Recovery Disk Assistant.
It is possible to make a bootable installer but the process is a bit involved:
Downloading Hardware Specific Lion Installers will enable you to get a copy of the Lion installer application from which you can make a bootable Lion installer on an 8 GB USB flash drive:
    Make Your Own Lion Installer
    1. After downloading Lion you must first save the Install Mac OS X Lion application. After Lion downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the Lion installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes installing Lion.
    2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
    3. Locate the saved Lion installer in your Downloads folder. CTRL- or RIGHT-click on the installer and select Show Package Contents from the contextual menu. Double-click on the Contents folder to open it. Double-click on the SharedSupport folder. In this folder you will see a disc image named InstallESD.dmg.
    4. Plug in your freshly prepared USB flash drive. You are going to clone the InstallESD.dmg disc image to the flash drive as follows:
    Open Disk Utility.
Select the USB flash drive from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the USB flash drive volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Drag the InstallESD.dmg disc image file into the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
When the clone is completed you have a fully bootable Lion installer that  you can use without having to re-download Lion.

  • How to use recovery dvd on new hard drive, install window 7

hello, i have trouble with my laptop. my hard drive got bad sectors and now i need to replace my hdd to new one. im not sure how to reinstall window 7 on my new hdd.
is it possible to install operating system on new hard drive using recovery disk? and how?

    Hi,
Yes, recovery discs will work on a new hard drive, but it's generally best to ensure that the replacement drive is of the same capacity ( slightly larger is Ok ) as the original - recovery discs can have issue when used on a drive that has a smaller capacity than the original.
When you have replaced the HDD, all you need to do is as follows.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to enter the Start-up Menu.
    Insert the 1st Recovery Disc.
Select Boot options ( f9 ), use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and hit enter.  You may also get a prompt to 'Press any key to continue' - do this if asked.
You will be prompted to insert subsequent discs as required.
    Regards,
    DP-K

  • How to open pdf from a dvd

My laptop is an HP Pavilion dv6.  How do I get access to pdf from a purchased dvd guitar lesson(s)? It says when i insert the dvd my computor will show me how.  I have put in the latest version of Adobe Acrobat, which is the required program it said but there is no response.  My forum name is Sentercal thank you.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hello Sentercal,
Are you sure you have Adobe Acrobat (Reader) installed?
Also when you say if you put the DVD into the player, it will show you how. Is the DVD supposed to play a video when inserted and its not doing anything?
If this is the case, can you go to Computer and run the DVD from there or explore the contents to find the PDF files to open?
If you find the PDF files and they still do not open with Adobe Reader, then you will need to contact the seller of the disc to find a solution. It could be the files on the disc are corrupt or the disc is bad.
Also you can play or open other discs without problems, correct?

  • How can I import from homemade DVD to iMovie ?

In converting VHS to DV in iMov I use the original 1988 camcorder for obvious tracking reasons. However, I have one tape that was left in the hot sun on my dashboard and, no surprise, is very flaky, but only in camcorder playback. This happened years ago and I had to transfer the (tape only) into a new cartridge. And since I was playing back from a newer VCR it did as well as could be expected. Then last year I put all my VHS tapes onto DVD thru a Panasonic HD/DVD recorder. Since my homemade DVD has no copy protection why can't I import into iMovie? My only other option is to copy from Panasonic to DV tape and then import to iMov and I worry about quality losses with only S video coupling. All my tapes went to HD and DVD in XP mode (1 hour per DVD).

    Hi,
See this thread: QuickTimeKirk, "copying dvd to imovie project" #1, 08:53pm Oct 9, 2005 CDT
You'll need to convert the dvd back to a form iMovie can import, details are in that discussion. Hope that helps.

  • How do i boot from a dvd

I'm looking to boot a macbook air (2008/2009) using a DVD that will recognize the flash/SSD drive.  I want to be able to boot without writing to this drive, and make a image of the drive.  Is there a way to boot from the OS X Leopard DVD, slave the notebook to another Mac and image the drive?

Don't use the defrag program. It is almost certainly not necessary. HFS+ defragments in the background.
If you really, really want to defrag manually anyway, the easiest and safest way to do this is to create a full bootable backup on an external hard drive, then boot from the external (making sure everything is there intact), then wipe your internal drive and clone back to it.
But unless you're working with huge video files or gigantic scratch files, there is zero need to do this. For some more information, watch this short video:
