How to do the cost assignement mandatory in  infotype 0014

Hi everybody,
does any of you know how to do the cost assignment mandatory in infotype 0014?
We have use the feature COBLT  and table T588N for Function Module RP_TIME_COBL_002, and now the field COBL-AUFNR is mandatory, but we need the cost assignment to be mandatory, I mean should be impossible to save a new record without cost assignement. Is is possible using standard functionality or I have to use the user exit in PAI?

Hi,
Instead of user exit, do as below.
Go to Table using SM30->V_T588M. Give module pool name as MP001400.
Now check your correct variable key for the feature & click on the corresponding Alternative Screen for e.g. 2010 & now go that field & mark that field as required field by choosing the second radio button.

    but we need to pass the controlling area + cost center grp to fetch the cost centers from BAPI, I have controlling area with me but not the cost center grp name, only I have Cycle info lke cycle name, segment name, seq number. so how to find the cost center grp name from the cycle name?

    The radio button has a name attribute. That name attribute should be the same as the bean property. Then you just need a
    <jsp:setProperty name="mybean" property="*"/>
    and the bean's set method will be called for the value of that radio button.
    so...
    <input type="radio" name="doit"/>
    class MyBean
    public void setDoit( boolean yes )
    //do whatever here

    Hi,
    Once you post actual values or any planning exists on this cost center you cant delete.
    To ristrict posting to cost you have two options.
    1.You can change validity period.
      change  end from 12/31/9999 to what ever date you want to stop posting(e.g. as of today 10/23/08)
    2. lock all postings to cost center on Control data tab in KS02.

    c) 'hard-coded' filter in the relevant report (only if it's user-developed report)

    The order number is present in Acc. Assignment Item Details but i want to display it in Acc. Assignment Overview screen.

    I have tried it and the Order number displays but it only comes after coming back from  Acc. Assignment Items Screen.
    This is why because, i have used the Structure S_SCREEN_ACCDET of Acc. Item Details screen (SAPLBBP_PDH_ACC_2000_1)  in Acc. Overview screen (SAPLBBP_PDH_ACC_1000_1) in SRM 5.0, because the sructure T_SCREEN_ACCLIST in Acc. Overview screen doesn't contains Order number.
    I think The other option can be going to the Screen in SAP and we can include the Order number there itself. I have found the Screen and code , where we can do it But Can you please give me an idea, Is there any another option to acheive the same..

    I believe this is done in the organization definition screen. For each organization, we attach a classification "Company Cost Centre" (the same place where we attach the classification operating unit, inv org etc). In the others section, there are 2 additional information - GL company cost centre and reporting information. In the GL company cost, you need to attach the balancing segment value and the cost centre value. In the reporting information, you need to attach the manager for that organization. This ay the relationship between the cost centre and manager is created.

    Dear Naresh,
    To settle the cost of production order, you need not to confirm it. But on the same time if you want to settle the order when its not confirmed then WIP amount will be posted. WIP value will be posted if your order does not have DLV or TECO status. In your case, if you not confirmed the order, only material cost if any issued for order will be calculated, no activity cost will be calculate. And if you want to post the variance then order status needs to be either DLV (Completely Delivered) or TECO (Technically Completed). Here also the cost of activity will not be considered as you didn't confirmed the order.
    So if you want to settled the order without confirmation, then Activity cost will not be added in your settled cost. So your product costing will not be accurate.
    Please revert if you have any other doubts.
