How to do the hard allocation of stocks to a cuatomer/group.

We are live on ECC 6.0 (IS Retail)
Business wants to allocate some stocks of certain material to a particular customer/customers group (customer chain) so that when customer places an order for the article it will always be available.
The material is also purchased by other customers on an as and when basis. The reserved element of stock is not available to other customers. When the customer for whom it is reserved places an order the stock should be automatically confirmed for that sales order
We have configured the product allocation process, but the limitation of this process are:
u2022Product allocation just specifies a maximum number for an object.This
must be maintained at client level i.e if you just want to maintain for
one chain code (group of customers), you still have to maintain for all
chain codes in all the sales areas for the object (irrespective of
whether you want to or not, at least using the masking character)
u2022Unless the maximum level is reached, orders will still be confirmed on
first-come-first serve basis. i.e there is no hard allocation; if there
is shortage, other customers can take the article though you might have
specified a "maximum number" for customerXXX and customerXXX might not
get the article. As said earlier, the check is "if the customer has
exceeded his quota!"
u2022Our requirement is for a kind of "hard allocation" which is almost
impossible to achieve using Product allocation.
We have configured consignment fill up process also, but the limitation is the fill up is for a particular customer,we cannot do it for customer chain (group of customers)
Please share any ideas to overcome the above issues to achieve the hard stock allocation.

Could you please explain the process a bit (Product allocation with Back order processing). Below is my business process.
There are 5 major customers and I want to allocate stock for one particular customer. for example, total unrestricted stock is 1000 cases, from that I want to allocate 300 cases to customer A and I should be able to invoice 300 cases to this customer as an when the order comes, no other customer is allowed to consume that allocated stock, even after the customer order quantity for other 4 customers are more than 700.

Click on the Desktop. From the Finder menu select Preferences. Check the boxes for what you want on your Desktop. If they are already checked, then try unchecking and rechecking.

How to wipe the hard drive on a screen-dead Powerbook G3?

The display on my 1998 G3 Wallstreet Powerbook recently went black and the computer made a noise that I understand is called The Chimes of Death, although the hard drive still makes whirring noises. My local and trustworthy Apple repair service assures me the Powerbook wouldn't be worth repairing even if they could get the parts for such an old machine.
Is there a way to wipe the hard drive and make my data irretrievable before disposing of the computer?
If there's no way to wipe the hard drive, I'd like to find out: (1) How to remove the hard drive. (2) The best way to destroy the hard drive or at least make it forever unreadable (can my shredder eat it?). (3) The correct way to dispose of a Powerbook that has heard the Chimes of Death. (From what the repair service says, I assume nobody would want it as a donation.)

As far as wiping the drive, it is easy as long as you can see a display so you can follow the steps necessary. You just open Drive Setup in the Utilities Folder on the CD > select 'zero all data' in the Initialization Options; do it a few times if concerned.
Removing the HD is relatively easy: Just lift off the keyboard and the heat sink, then remove the HD.

Hit the HD a few times with a hammer and nobody will bother with it...it has a glass platter.
Nothing to offer on the recycling except Good Will may still take it as "non-working" since there are Mac users looking for such bargains.

Hi Eric,
From your description, I would like to clarify the following things:
1. Before performing the restore process, we need to dismount the Exchange databases that we want to restore. If the database is still mounted, the restore process will fail. If the restore process doesn't succeed, Restore.env won't be generated.
2. It is because the log files are healthy, you can run Eseutil/r and perform soft recovery.
3. In your case, you can continue to perform the soft recovery.

I read the FAQ of nomad on nomadness.net, I wanna know how to upgrade the hard disk of old nomad jukebox with a bigger one?

On windows load the airport utility .. latest correct version as possible.. there is no windows 8 but win7 works after a fashion.
Make sure the TC is using SMB compatible names.. short no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
Type the name directly into windows explorer.
\\TCname or \\TCIPaddress
If no luck turn off all the firewalls.. internal windows plus security software plus whatever other gargyoles and other rubbish AV software you have running.
Ensure windows is able to at least ping the TC by IP address and name..
Use the utility in windows to set file sharing to guest account on with full read and write access.. and set workgroup to WORKGROUP.

IMac G5 10.3 Upgrade to 10.5 How to erase the hard drive with no 10.3 disc

Working on my brother's computer. iMac G5 (no iSight) was running 10.3.11. He tried to do an upgrade to 10.4 along with a RAM upgrade. When he totally hosed it up, he turned it over to me and now wants to upgrade to 10.5. I obtained a retail version of 10.5 and was able to install it but I can't configure it because the old 10.3 Sys Admin is still in there somewhere. Brother has lost password and lost 10.3 start up disc. Can I just wipe the entire hard drive (most info is corrupted anyway) and start over clean with 10.5? If so, how do I accomplish that without the old install disc? Thanks for any help! I'm fairly desperate and pretty sick of tangling with this problem.

Richard, thank you so much for your advice. I will try that first thing tomorrow morning when I'm "fresh". I think the hard drive is fine. I already ran the verify and repair routine. My brother thought he could do all of this himself. I told him to install his upgrade first, then his hardware (RAM stick). Well, he installed the RAM first. Then assumed that something was wrong with the Software when it wouldn't load. Very long story short, one of the 1GB RAM chips was bad. As soon as I took it out, everything was fine. But he did something Very Bad while trying to do the upgrade and I just can't recreate what he did, not to mention how many other people were involved before he called me (and I'm far from an expert!). The Genius Bar at my local Apple store recommended erasing and starting over with the 10.5, but then everything I read on line said I had to have the 10.3 install disc. I bought a MAC when I retired from corporate America so I wouldn't have to do this type of thing any more. My MAC never gives me one bit of trouble. But I speak to it kindly every day and coo in its ears! I'll let you know how it works out! Thanks again. --Pam.

I have been trying to install openSUSE 12.3 Linux on my new G500 and have been unable to do it. I think that there is a problem with the hard drive so I want to replace it. I have worked on other notebooks and they all have screws on the base that let you get to the memory and the hard drive. The G500 does not. How does it come apart?

You will have to remove the retaining screws from the battery compartment
After that you should slide the cover towards the front of the laptop.
Note: Be careful on removing and replacing parts, any physical or cosmetic damage won't be covered.

How to access the hard drive in my Time Capsule via ethernet, not wireless

I have a new Netgear 802.11ac router with ethernet ports. I also have an older (4 years old) Time Capsule that I replaced with the new Netgear router. My iPhoto library was recently corrupted (long story there). I don't have a backup except on my Time Capsule. How do I access the Time Capsule's hard drive over ethernet so that I can copy the iPhoto Library off of it and onto my Thunderbolt external hard drive? It's the only chance I have to save years of photos (my iPhoto library is 258 Gb large). I don't want to do this wirelessly. I've tried using ethernet cable from the TC to my Macbook Pro and to one of the ethernet ports on the Netgear router, but to no avail. I'm sure it's got to be simple but I've almost given up trying different configurations.

Plug the TC directly into the netgear by ethernet.
Then do a factory reset. This will not harm your existing backups in any way.
The Factory Reset Gen1-4.
Unplug your TC. Hold in reset. and power the TC back on.. without releasing reset for about 10sec. When the status light flashes rapidly; release it.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel.. add no more pressure after that.
TC will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.
Connect to the TC by wireless.. this is just to do the setup..
Put the TC in bridge mode.
The TC will now appear as a client in the Netgear and should be accessible.. if not there is something else going on.. the Netgear may not be working properly with the TC. It happens.
I am not sure what equipment you have.. but if you have a thunderbolt connected hard drive.. how are you then connecting by ethernet to the Netgear.. as I understand it, unless your hard disk has a thunderbolt passthough port.. and you have tested and found the ethernet does still work with the hard disk in the chain.
There is no reason you cannot do it direct to the TC if you have enough ports. But the TC should be reset as above so it is in router mode. That is the only way you can connect to it as otherwise it is bridged.

I created a new admin account, in order (hopefully) to solve some problems that I've been having with SPSS21 for Mac. But when I log on as a new admin account, my hard disk no longer appears on the desktop. It (and all the folders and files in it) are still accessible by clicking on the hard disk in the path bar in a folder, but it's annoying not to have the icon on the hard disk. First you have to create sales orders for these three customers
There are three ways of doing this
1. T code MB1B use movement type 412 E and input your sales order no
Stocks will be reserved for this order
Your item category should be marked E in special stock indicator
This is the perfect way of doiung it
Suppose if the order gets cancelled stocks can be moved back to unrestricted using T code MB1B use movement type 411 E
2.Create sales order and then delivery and save dont do picking and PGI
Stocks will be reserved for this delivery
3.In t code OVZ9 if you have ticked include sales requirements then for whatever sales orders created stocks will be reserved for them
But this is soft way of handling as thro backorder processing the stocks can be allocated to other orders

How to rectify the mistake of opening stock balance already uploaded

My issue is when the opening balance of stock was uploaded as of 1st april 2008 the actual which should pass is -

But the JE which is passed is - (which is incorrect so how should be rectified)

You cannot reverse the entry which uploaded it, so, this is the quickest & easiest way. You can reconcile out the values so they don't display.
The only other way would be to go back to a back up & start again.
