How to do voice over in 10.0.6 ?
Hi there,
I remember a couple of years ago when I was using Windows Movie Maker, I bought a usb mic Audio Technica ATR2020 to do some voice over.
I still have the mic with me.
But I cannot figure out how do I a voice over in FCPX.
Any tips ?
Thanks
Thanks Ben for the great link.
I know the voice over after recording appeared in the Events. But can I ask, where is it stored actually. I mean, if say I am satisfied after 5 takes, only the take number 5 is useful to me. How do I delete of the earlier 4 takes from my computer completely ?
Thanks

How to prevent voice over saying the caller number or name automatically in iphone?
hi, i'm a new member of apple world,
i'm using voice over in my iphone 5s, when i receive a call, voice over automatically say the calling number or name with the ring tone, how can i set
voice over to prevent it saying the caller number or name ??Same problem, which is extremely inconvenient because I like to use my earphones to listen to Pandora while I work. Not every time, but most of the time I plug in my earphones, the iPod software starts playing the last song that was played. Stopping the music via iPod or pressing the Home button for 10 seconds to force quit iPod doesn't stop the music as it will just automatically start playing again. Sometimes if I'm lucky, plugging the earphones in very quickly avoids this problem -- but like I said, it's a cross my fingers and hope I get lucky kind of thing.
I'm using the newer 3G model, which I've had for only about a month. I did not have this problem with my old 2G iPhone.
Someone in another thread said it's a hardware fault and suggested exchanging the phone for a new one. Can anyone confirm this? -

It appears to be working as Apple intended. The manual says:
Moving recordings to your computer
You can sync voice memos with the iTunes library on your computer, and listen to them on your
computer or sync them with another iPod touch or iPhone.
When you delete a synced voice memo from iTunes, it stays on the device where it was recorded,
but it’s deleted from any other iPod touch or iPhone you synced. If you delete a synced voice
memo on iPod touch, it’s copied back to iPod touch the next time you sync with iTunes, but you
can’t sync that copy back to iTunes a second time.
Sync voice memos with iTunes. Connect iPod touch to your computer. Then in iTunes, select
iPod touch. Select Music at the top of the screen, select Sync Music, select “Include voice memos,”
then click Apply.
Voice memos synced from iPod touch to your computer appear in the Music list and in the Voice
Memos playlist in iTunes. Voice memos synced from your computer appear in the Voice Memos
app on iPod touch (but not in the Music app).
What yo can do is code the Voice Memos on the computer as something besides Voice Memos (Right click>Select Get Info>go to Option tap and change under Media Kind). When yo change it it will move the VM to the library for that kind e.g., Music if you coded it as Music) -

How can the voice over icon be removed?
I unfortunately followed the advice of someone who really didn't understand OSX 10.8.X and inadvertantly launched the Voice Over program. Now I can't seem to be able to clear the icon. Can anyone help?
Thanks to Zlig I was able determine that after going to System Preferences I needed to go to Accessability and from there Speakable Items and then I could switch it off. The icon went POOF! Thank you Zlig.

Voice Over stuck, pushing home button x3 not working
I somehow managed to get voice over turned on on my iPad. I looked up the directions in the manual as to how to deactivate voice over, neither of them want to work. I can't get the iPad to unlock to get to "Settings" to try to fix the problem. Any time I swipe to unlock, voice over just states what is going on with the home screen. I've pushed the "home" button x3 with no effect, voice over just states what is going on. I've reset the iPad which did nothing. I'm looking for any suggestions before I head to the "genius bar" tomorrow as my Apple Care is expired.

Does anyone know how to monitor a microphone when using Voice Over tool?
I use Final Cut studio in conjunction with an AJA Kona LHe card. Audio inputs are via the AJA. I monitor the output from FCP through the AJA card via a Samson C-Control (monitor matrix). Here's my problem. When I'm recording voice over, I am unable to monitor the sound from the microphone through the headphones (or speakers). There is definitely an audio feed being routed to the headphones as I am able to hear the audio cue countdown. The microphone is working fine too - when it comes to playing back the voice over through the headphones (or speakers), I can hear the track absolutely fine. Has anyone experienced the same problem... and do you know how to solve it? Many thanks, AW
its not that you've anything screwy going on .. this is the way it is engineered to work.
the pre-existing audio (and cues) is routed to the headphones but not the voice being recorded.
the solution is to use an audio mixer to monitor both the voice over and the timeline -
