How do I download pictures from my desktop computer to my IPad please. If I go to Itunes I can find now way of doing this, is there a special ITunes site? I have my Ipad connected to my computer but nothing happens???

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

The Camera Roll on the phone identifies itself as a Digital Camera to your computer. You don't sync them as you do everything else with iTunes.
You get them off as you would any digital camera.
You don't say what type of computer you have so instructions are different depending on that.

FAT is not an image format. It's a volume format. It sounds like your images are in iPhoto. Export them as JPEG to the Desktop, then drag them to the card in the Finder. If that doesn't work, the card is either locked or corrupt. Look for a lock switch on the side.

If you mean add them to photostream, you can either drag them onto your photostream album or selct them and use the share option at the bottom of the iPhoto window.

If you are not running at least Mac OS X 10.6.8, you can't download the new iTunes to access iOS 6 or later.
