How to downgrade back to Mavericks?

I upgraded my system to Yosemite the other night. I saw a lot of changes especially in style. I like the blurry background and the minimal logos BUT THE COLORS. Too colorful. The folder colors, too bright. I feel like this is the worst OS ever. My Macbook became slow as ****, I see the spinning wheel of death everywhere, everything loads so slow even the volume and brightness that pops when you press those buttons!
I can't stick with this slow piece of crap. How do I downgrade back to Mavericks? Yosemite is stylish okay, okay I get it but it's slow as **** and I'm not even using half of the memory of my laptop.

It's worth pointing out that you'll find many threads here saying the same thing after upgrading to Mavericks, and how to downgrade to Mountain Lion.
In short: the problem may not be the OS itself. Most cases of slowness are due to incompatible third-party software, usually LaunchAgents that load at startup and run in the background.
Make sure you know what you have installed, and make sure all of it is up to date.
Two simple tests: Try booting into Safe Boot mode. Any better?
Try logging into a brand new user account. Any better?
These tests can tell you where the source of any problem lies.

  • Downgrade back to Mavericks.

    Hello
I have upgraded my operating system to Yosemite from Mavericks and really do not like its toy like appearance, is there any way of going back to mavericks,
                      Thanks  Dave.

on my MacBook Pro I upgraded to Yosemite and then found out my software is incompatible. I need to downgrade back to Mavericks and I'm not sure if I can do that without going into the Apple store. I'm in the process of backing up my computer using Time Machine to a hard drive and then I was told I should wipe my machine clean and then reinstall Mavericks and then bring my data back over to the computer. i'm hoping there's a way to do this on the phone with tech-support or the community knows how to download Mavericks and not have it automatically go to Yosemite. I know at the Apple store and they can pick any operating system but I don't know if it's so easy to do at home. Thanks
Do you have a Time Machine backup of your previous Mavericks system? Or did you go to Yosemite from an earlier OS? Mavericks is no longer available for download, so if you don't have a Time Machine backup, or never downloaded the Mavericks installer, I'm not sure you will be able to get it without going to an Apple Store. Maybe not even then.

  • Any info from Apple on how to downgrade back to IOS 3

Not happy with IOS 4, phone lags. Any info from Apple on how to downgrade back to IOS3.13?

I've just downgraded my old 3G to 3.1.3 before giving it to my girlfriend. While I was quite happy with iOS4, I did note that a few minor things were a little slower (mainly SMS), and she hammers this feature so I thought it best to hand over the device on 3.1.3.
Downgrading was incredibly easy, it's actually a fairly trivial task if you follow one of the many excellent guides. The entire thing only took about 1 hour, from first reading the article to the phone being at the "connect to itunes" screen on 3.1.3.
Just google "lifehacker iphone 3g downgrade", and you should get the same article I used.
The annoying thing is, she's now wanting to upgrade it to iOS4 herself because she wants folder. I shouldn't of even bothered downgrading it. lol.

I'm copletley unhapy with ISO 7 Im using iphone 4 GSM it's so slow now how to downgrade back ???

Thanks a lot for the link. I'll try out if that will help to speed up my phone.
However, there has to be a possibility to downgrade to ios6 - otherwise the guys from Apple wouldn't have advised me to do so.
Beside of all the problems I have withe the new ios it also looks childish designwise and lot of of things like handling was much better with ios 6.

  • How to downgrade yosemite to mavericks

Hi i would like to know if its possible to downgrade Yosemite to Mavericks on my late 2009 macbook because i only have 2gb of ram and its really slow. Thanks!

That is what I'm about to do. I have a disc for snow leopard... not sure if I have the disc for mountain lion or if it was a download... before I do anything I will check. I'm hoping I can download whichever ones I need before I start, put them on an external drive and then do what this person did. I didn't care for Mavericks... it couldn't have been so great if it got replaced and is not available now. Kinda telling.
I'm ****** with this upgrade. Nothing can convince me that Apple didn't know older machines wouldn't adapt to this upgrade but there wasn't a warning or "system requirements" check that SHOULD happen automatically.
And... I HAVE 4GB of RAM and it's still crap.
It has turned Safari into an unusable app. The bluetooth mouse no longer works right. Trying to watch videos on youtube is impossible. I click "play" and it does something else entirely.
I'm going back to SL, then ML... and as far as I can go before I get fracked by this monstrosity of an "upgrade."

  • How to go back to Mavericks from Yosemite?

Just recently upgraded to Yosemite and I absolutely hate it. I want to go back to Mavericks, but can't seem to do so. Please give me different options, along with detailed steps, to revert back to Mavericks. Thanks.

You must have a fully bootable Mavericks system from which to boot the computer. You can then erase the volume with Yosemite, then clone the Mavericks system to the empty volume you just erased.
You can erase the drive and reinstall Mavericks if you have a USB Mavericks installer flash drive.
You can boot the computer via Internet Recovery and reinstall the original version of OS X that came with the computer. This is only feasible on models from 2011 to the present.
OS X Mavericks- Revert - Downgrade to a previous OS X version also applies to Yosemite.

  • How to downgrade back to ios 7.0.2

How to I go back to IOS 7.1. until IOS 8 is fix

There is no supported method of downgrading iOS versions.
You can try the standard troubleshooting steps:
    1. Reset,
    2. Resotre,
    3. If neither fix the issues, you can take it into an Apple store for Diagnosis.
To Reset, simply press and hold the home and power/sleep buttons until the Apple Logo shows up.   This will reboot the iPhone.  Usually this helps with issues relating to memory or uncleared installation files.
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings
This will refresh the iOS installation and usually helps fix any bugs and glitches that may have creeped up during the original installation.

  • HT4623 how to downgrade back to ios 6

I am using T-Moblie over the Iphone and since I moved to ISO 6.1. I am having problems sending images and sharing contacts.
Anyone can help on how I can get back to IOS 6?
    Thanks,
    Ladan

I'm sorry, but Apple does not provide a downgrade path for iOS. Because downgrading is unsupported by Apple we cannot discuss it on these forums, but you can use Google to find information on how to install an older version of iOS on any iDevice.

  • How to downgrade back from IOS 4.2.1

I have had enough of woes with my I-Phone 3G, after upgrading to IOS 4.2.1.
Any way of backtracking to a more stable state? I was fine till IOS 4.1. though the performance was slowing down. Now totally stuck since last 3 days.

Ok, let me tell you what I tried to do. Restore through Itunes didnt work, got a lot of errors mainly pointing to hardware issues. I once managed to get it jailbroken through a friend, and then asked him to reset it completely so I could restore it in Itunes again (I had no compulsive intention to remain jailbroken then, I wish I had not reset it and continued using it in jailbroken mode). So I have just one choice left now...jailbreak. I am just looking for a reply from Apple before I go ahead with jailbreak.Wonder how long my patience will last, 3 days and 4th starting.

  • How to downgrade from 10.10 to 10.9

This operating system is NOT ready for use.  Problems with printing, email and safari.  I have too much going on at work to mess with this stuff and wish to downgrade back to Mavericks, which works just fine.

    Hello Doug Mcilvain,
The article linked below details how to go about reverting to a previous version of Mac OS X.
Important: Reverting erases any changes you made to the files on your Mac since you installed the new version of OS X. To save new or revised files, copy them onto a different disk or back them up...

  • Need to downgrade - Yosemite to Mavericks!

    Hi guys,
Earlier today downloaded the Yosemite upgrade. I'm just not getting on with, really not sue whether to stick it out and see if it will improve or just downgrade back to Mavericks. I have a full backup of my system on Time Machine and I'm using the August 2014 13 Inch Macbook Pro - 2.6 GHz i5 8GB.
The big question is; what steps do I have to take to get back to Mavericks, or is it not possible?
Cheers, all responses and help are appreciated.

See here: Apple: Restoring a previous OS X version
Or here: How to revert OS X back from Mavericks
They are written for Mavericks, but the same process applies.
