SUCCESS! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! (please keep reading there is a question at the end)
AW 6.2.9 is now on my G4.
Because of the way the Apple consultant at the Apple store set up our HDs when he installed Tiger for us, we had 2 copies already of AW 6.1. (We work from 3 external LaCie HDs)
I only updated the 6.1 that lives in Tiger. I left the other as is at 6.1 since I know it will open the older docs that I have and need there in OS 9. And it had a translator bundled in (by Dataviz if I recall) for other formats - I'm not sure if this nice feature still exists in the update.
The installer said it would install 6.2.8 (??) in OS 9 and 6.2.9 in OS X. But because I chose the AW 6 folder that lives in the X HD for the install, it only could access that and left the other alone.
MY NEW QUESTION:
The font list is quite short. I really don't use a lot of fonts, but do favour Verdana which is not in the list. Any clues on this?

How to downgrade to earlier version of Quicktime?

I've been having trouble with awful stuttering in iMovie 4. In another thread ("video stutter in very simple video project") it was suggested that iMovie4 does not run with QuickTime 7 (although they were bundled in my new OSX) and to downgrade to QuickTime 6. Having tried all other recommendations to no avail, I want to try the downgrade. Does anyone know how to do this? Or have any other information on this problem?

afaik, it is recommended to use
10.3.x + QT 6.x + iM≤5
or....
10.4.x + QT 7.x + iM 6
plus, read the "recommended" hardware specs to run all the new, shiny software components.. I would NOT install 10.4/QT7 on an "antiqué" G3/400 ... I too own an old iBook G3/400.. with 10.3/QT6 and iM4...- works like charm, no need to upgrade ...

stuttering could have many other reasons ...
* your Macs 80GB could be crowded/full ... you should allways keep 10 - 15GB free while working with video...

On A Mac you can only install one Firefox version at the time.
So if you really need an older version then try the portable version:

IE 11 is crashing running a scenario whereas its working fine on earlier versions of IE and other browsers

we have A CRM application having some customer related scenarios, like create customer, accounts,address etc.
while, when we browse through the Create Customer scenario from lets say, page1 to page2 the browser is getting crashed.

There are some symbol file errors in the analyzed result, please upload the dump file to a public location such as OneDrive, then paste the dowload link here.
Meanwhile, what about other webpages? please test whether this issue happens in other IE 11 or similiar systems, check whether this is a common issue or a specific issue.
Keep latest Windows Updates especially for IE updates.
Test IE in no add-ons mode, if issue disappears, then it could be cauesd by an incompatible add-on

that little "&" sends the conky process to the background freeing up the current process (your autostart.sh script) to finish doing what it's doing so you can move on to running openbox itself. with this in mind, it should be obvious why keeping conky in the foreground would cause problems.
also, replacing it with (sleep 1 && conky) & means... wait a second, when that's done successfully (&&) run conky, and put all of that () to the background. that way openbox comes up immediatly and only a second later you've got your panel and monitor.
all this after .xinitrc and before openbox

we come to one issue:
say we modify LDM at Nov 1th, and modify LDM at Nov 2th,but after commit what we did at Nov1th,and Nov 2th, we find there are 'mistakes' in Nov 2th,
how can we get an earlier version of LDM?(in our case, we want revert to version Nov 1th).
we use SDDM Version 3.1.1.703,and we share the project under subversion managed.
more questions:
(under subversion managed SDDM projet)
1.what is best praise of backup in case we do something wrong and want rollback whole change to previous version?
2.how to do that ,is there any document guide ?(I searched this forum, seems not find similar topic)

say two users:user1 & user2 are working on the LDM, and remote directory called LDM_remoate
at Nov 2th,
user1 have a latest local working copy under his machine directory LDM_local_user1
user2 have a latest local working copy under his machine directory LDM_local_user2
At Nov3th,
user2 found some mistakes when user1 checked in at Nov 1th,so user2 want to get a earlier version say Nov 1 th,
according to your guide, user2 get the design reversion number Nov 1th, and re check out at new working copy(Nov 1th) under new local directory:LDM_local_user2_new
when user2 open LDM_local_user2_new, it indeed come back to version Nov 1th,
but in the incoming change window, it still show many incoming changes,
how to make the remote LDM_remote to become like LDM_local_user2_new? so that user1 only need check incoming change from LDM_remote as usual to make at local copy
LDM_local_user1 also reverted to version Nov 1th?

As I was playing around on the front cover of an album re background colour etc I somehow changed the # of photos on the whole album( per page ) and now can't retrieve the earlier version of the album. The software has chosen several photos from each page and decided that it would be 4 / page .... hoping to be able to retrieve earlier version and rework it ???

Is there any way to downgrade my firmware version from 1.5.1 to a lower version? Even if my firmware update has been applied succesfully? I cannot use just the firmware restore CD because that is for an interupted or failed update.
