there needs to be a how to download previous purchased ringtones, such a simple task has been made far to difficult for customers

Ringtones (and audiobooks) can't currently be re-downloaded from the store. If they are no longer on your device then have you not got them on your computer and/or on a backup ?

  • HT201272 This article doesn't say how to download past purchases from your computer/

They have conveniently left off instructions on how to download past purchases fron the iTunes store.

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
??? That article has pretty clear instructions on how to redownload anything that is redownloadable (audiobooks are not, but that is the only thing).  The istructions for the iTunes store on an iOS device are the third link down from the top, and from a computer the last link.
    What exactly is missing?

You should be able to redownload content (what you can redownload depends upon the type of item, what country that you are in, and whether the items are still in your country's store) via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes
Depending on how you updated your account you might need to log out of your account on your computer's iTunes (Store > Sign Out) and then sign back in (Store > Sign In) for the update to be recognised.

  • How to download past purchases on new hard drive on Mac

My daughter's hard drive died last year (locked within Filevault from ages past) on her Desktop Mac. As a consequence, she has lost several years worth of purchased music from the iTunes store. Is there anyway to re-download her lost music without having to repurchase them all over again?

This seems to take me in a loop between how to authorize/deauthorize my computer and how to download purchases to other devices- not the original PC.   She is older and more responsible now, but no back-ups were used at the time. I know (sigh). We seem to be able to get a listing of past ourchases from iTunes store for only the very recent time.
Arewe just out of luck and learning about back-ups the hard way with her tune library?

  • HT201272 How to download past purchase to iPhone

I am trying to figure out how to download an album To my iPhone that I purchased on my computer. When I go to the album in iTunes it says it was purchased but it is grayed out with no option to click on and hit download. Anyone know what I can do?

You have to have "Automatic Downloads" turned on on your iPhone and in iTunes on your computer to have downloads go to all your devices at the same time.
Or, just sync your iPhone with your computer and it should copy it to your iPhone, depending on what your music sync preferences are.

  • How to download older purchases

    Hello,
Two weeks ago i changed the email adress associated with my AppleID. Now, i need to re download some purchases made before i changed that email adress, but when i click on the price of a song, for example, i only receive a warning telling me that i already purchased that, and asks me if i want to re-purchase it. How am i supposed to re download it? Check for available downloads doesn't help me at all.
Also, if i purchase a song on my iPhone, to have the same song on my Macbook without syncing what am i supposed to do? My iTunes does not have an automatic downloads for music, only apps.
    Thanks

If you go to the Purchased tab in the iTunes app on your phone can you redownload music (you can't in all countries) - and similarly there is a Purchased tab in the App Store app.
On your Mac's iTunes there should be a Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage for redownloading items.
If you change countries or if the rights-holder removes an item from the store then you won't be able to redownload them.
For the automatic downloads of music, your Mac's iTunes is up-to-date - I get tickboxes for both music and apps (I'm in the UK) as shown on this page : Enable Automatic Downloads.

  • Is there any way to see how many downloads or purchases any app on the app store has?

So basically, I was just wondering if there is any way on the Internet or something, that I can check the amount of downloads or purchases any app has on the app store. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hi SomethingNanika,
First, thanks for being a Gamers Club Unlocked (GCU) member! It certainly sounds like you’re taking advantage of your benefits and I’m happy that you’re so consciously aware of the limitations of said benefits. I’m also happy to provide some details around the purchase limits and what does/doesn’t count towards those limits.
When you purchase a game and pay for it fully, that counts as one towards your limit. If you return that game, that quantity of one is then removed from your limit. However, if you do a return and a rebuy, it basically counts as a wash, as you’re subtracting one and then adding it right back. Furthermore, simply placing a pre-order deposit doesn’t count towards your limit until the game is paid in full and the pre-order is fulfilled.
Lastly, if your GCU benefits aren’t applied to a purchase, then you are correct in saying that would not count towards your limit of three titles. Also, here’s a refresher:
“The limits for using your Unlocked membership will be three (3) copies of a new (i.e not pre-owned) video game software title per platform, per year. Collector's and Limited Editions count towards this title limit. Game of the Year editions, usually released much later and including additional content, do not count towards this limit. Game of the Year versions count as a separate title and have their own limit of three copies per platform, per year.”

  • How to download songs purchased years ago using a different PC

    Hi,
I need to re-download all songs that I have purchased via iTunes (2004 to 2006). I'm using a different PC now and so iTunes does not show my purchases under the 'iTunes Store' --> 'Purchased' section. Also, my old iPod MINI that holds these songs has long since died.
I can see all the songs in my purchase history under 'View My Account' but this is just a history - no way of re-downloading from there.
Anyone know how I go about this?
    Thanks!

If you are in the USA and are running iTunes 10.3 or later, you can re-download from the iCloud.  Go to the home page of the iTunes Store, and click on the link called "Purchased."
The iCloud is not yet available in other countries, and Apple is not obligated to give you new copies, but sometimes they will do so on an exception basis.  If you don't have a backup, this might be your only possibility.  Try your request at iTunes Customer Service.

    Hi robertd92409519,
Adobe PDF Pack is an online subscription, so there's nothing to download. You just need to log in to your account at https://cloud.acrobat.com using your Adobe ID and password.
You can also access the service via Adobe Reader, so if you don't have that installed, you can get it from https://get.adobe.com/reader.
Please let us know how it goes!
    Best,
    Sara
