How to download a transport request?

Hi Seniors,
Is there any facilities in SAP to download a whole transport request from one server to a local file, n then upload it to another server, keeping in mind servers r not interconnected?
thnks
Sameer

Hello Sameer, Bernardo and Diana
On standard R/3 systems I use transaction CG3Y and CG3Z for downloading and uploading the files (cofile and data file) of RELEASED transport requests.
When these transactions are not available I try to use fm EPS_FTP_PUT (or EPS_FTP_GET) to copy the files onto another R/3 system where I can download them as described above.
What is the problem with releasing the requests? Is it the fact that the request is no longer changeable or that it might automatically added to the target system's import queue.
I usually recycle my transport requests between DEV and TEST system. What does this mean? When I do rapid prototyping I may change the same program objects 10, 20, 30 times. I release the request in DEV, import it into TEST and then open the SAME request again in the DEV system. This is done by a simple report which updates E070-TRSTATUS (change from 'R' to 'D').
When I am ready with prototyping then I import the latest export version of the same request into the PROD system. Now I create a new request for follow-ups.
How to avoid the adding to the import queue of the target system I really do not know.
Regards
Uwe

• How to delete the Transport Request?

Hi all,
I want to delete the Transoport Request from Production Box( we have 2 request number... one child another one parent). I released the Child Request. Now i want to delete that request. we don't have setup in our production Box i think(in order to release that we don't have setup in Production Box).
Any Idea? I know how to delete that Transport Request. If i try to release that i'm getting TP(Transport Profile error) with return Code 12. it suppose to handle by Basis. My basis consultant is not aware of how to work on this?
Regards,
Nagesh Ganisetti.

I am not sure I understand.
You release the request in the system you created, not in another system (in your case production). It will then go to the import queue of the target system.
Transports will be configured in all the systems in your landscape (including production).
Just by releasing a request, it will not go to the target (unless it is configured so, not likely if the target is production), someone has to import it into the target. I assume you do not want this request to go to target. In this case, release it, then go to STMS, import queue, and delete it from there.
Added -
I now see that the request is in production.
Igore the above in that case.
If you are not able to release it, let it be. If you are doing an upgrade/support pack, you will need to release it.
When you try to delete, what message do you get?

Goto RSA1 and then Transport Connection -> In SAP Transports select Object Types-> Query Elements -> Then select Query->Give Technical name of the query and then select for transfer. In the right side you can choose the components which you wanted to transport.

• How to find the transport request which was released to Quality

Hi Friends,
Could anyone please let me know, how to find the transport request that was already released from Development to Quality?
there was some change in customization took place. I could find the user (through change log) who made these changes, however I could not find the transport request number he has already released. I did give his user name in SE10 and checked the released checkbox and did click transports to see them, however I found nothing. A message got displayed on the screen: Cross-system information for user xxx. I can't ask the Basis people about it, as its not yet been trasnported to Productive.
Is this the correct way to see the transport request number? Is there any other way to find the number. I can give the tentative dates when the change was released.
This post might already posted before, I did some search, could not find the exact info what I am looking for. Would appreaciate if anyone could give the step by step method to find it.
Thanks in advance.
BR,
Sats.

Ram,
let me tell you the the situation in a better way.
When I see se10 with my user id I could see all the transport requests that I have released. However, now when I enter my colleague user id who did these changes (he is on vacation, otherwise I could simply ask him the transport number), nothing is shown on the page. in simple words the page is completely blank. Initially I thought it is because of some authorizations, but I can get the transport request numbers that are released by another user.
the info what I have right now are:
1. I knew the user name who did these chages
2. I knew the date when it was changed.
I just need the Transport Request number I mean which starts with DEVXXXXXXX.
As per your solution --> If you have any idea when the reques was relase you can select the request and click on goto-transport logs. This way you can find out the request. --> I knew the date when it was released, but didnt understand, the bold and underlined sentense in your answer.. select on which request? as I said, the page was blank after I enter his user id and activate it.. May be I did not understnd your solution properly. Could you please simplify it.
Thanks a bunch in advance
Sats.

• Can give me the details how to release the transport request to the qa

can give me the details how to release the transport request to the quality server pr production server
thanks

Hi,
Use transaction SE09. Here select "modifiable" .Then click -Display.
Now you get a list of all requests which can be released.
Locate your request number and drill down. Release the sub-request first and then the main request by selecting and using the "transport" icon.

• HOW MANY TYPES OF transportable requests?

HOW MANY TYPES OF transportable requests?

Hi,
In R/3 Release 4.0, SAP has introduced the Change and Transport System (CTS), comprising the following tools:
1. Change and Transport Organizers(CTO)
2. Transport management system(TMS)
The Change and Transport Organizer (CTO) provides functions for organizing software development projects. It is designed to support projects of all sizes, whether they are carried out centrally or in a distributed environment.
The Transport Management System (TMS) organizes, monitors, and performs transports for allR/3 Systems within a system landscape. In addition, TMS is used to configure and manage the setting up of R/3 Systems and transport routes within a system landscape.
The Transport Management System (Transaction STMS) enables you to:
1. Define an R/3 System's role within a system landscape or transport domain
2. Configure the transport routes using either a graphical editor or hierarchical editor
3. Configure the transport tool transport control program tp.
4. Display the import queues of all R/3 Systems in the transport domain
5.Decide whether the quality assurance testing was successful in the QA System
6.Start the import of change requests in an import queue
The transports request can be of two types :
1. Customizing
2. Workbench
Customizing adapts the R/3 software to meet a company's individual business requirements by setting up the business transactions the company requires in R/3. Most Customizing is client-specific and affects only a particular client.
Workbench - Development changes are saved to Workbench change requests. Workbench change requests concern changes to R/3 Repository objects, such as ABAP programs, screens, data dictionary objects and global documentation.
To access the Workbench Organizer, use Transaction SE09

• HOW TO IMPORT A TRANSPORT REQUEST AT OS LEVEL IN HP-UNIX PLATFORM?

HOW TO IMPORT A TRANSPORT REQUEST AT OS LEVEL IN HP-UNIX PLATFORM?

Dear Pavan,
When you exporting the transport request via TCODE Se01/SE09/SE10 two files are created at the OS level in Data and Cofiles folder residing in E:\usr\sap\trans.If you open these files you will see your exported request number You need to copy your reqest from the development server OS and then go to the Quality /Production OS and open the same folder E:\usr\sap\trans and paste it into the respective Datafiles and Cofiles folder.
If will surely work.
PS: I recommend not to do this way.Use tcode STMS for importing
Note: Users must be kept away from the application and database server.Hence they work on presentation server which is our GUI workstation.
Reward if hepful and your query is resolved.

• How to find Particular Transport Request.

Hi All Experts,
Can anybody please tell, how to find previous transport request for the scenario like mentioned below.
If I have created some objects and transported to quality system from dev system.
Now, i need to do some changes in those objects and retransport those changes, with original object.
So in the request for changes to existing objects if I need to include the request from which the object was transported before, how can i find that old request.
Your help will be surely rewarded.
Regards
Vinay

Hi,
in SE01 you can display your requests.
Alternatively you can use SE03 / Search for Objects in Requests/Tasks, enter your user ID in the Owner, select relevant status, mark the first empty checkbox in the selection of objects, enter the object type (e.g. IOBJ for infoobjects, CUBE for ICube...) and enter its name in the input box; execute
this will show all your requests packed with the selected objects...
hope this helps...
Olivier.

• How to create a transport request number in SM36

Hello SAP gurus,
Can someone please let me know, how to create a transport request number while schedule a new job in SAP.
Can we create a new transport request number in SM36?
Thanks
Sha

Hi Sha
Doesn't make sense to create Transport number in SM36, where it meant for scheduling the batch jobs.
I would rather suggest you to create in SE09 -> Creaet (F6) or
while doing the config ->save the config-> create new req
Please voice out if you really have other requirement to have this.
regards
RG

• How to find a Transport Request no for Task or Workflow Template

Hi All,
Any body tell me.
How to find a Transport Request No for Task or Workflow Template.
Thanks,
Lakhshmi.

Hi.
Next to the options already mentioned you can also try transaction SE03.
Select: Search for objects in Requests/Tasks.
Next, fill an empty line with the objectnumber you want to search (don't forget the checkbox).
For workflow tasks use the object type PDTS, for workflow templates use PDWS.
Kind regards,
Jasper Blok
