Hi allan,I have dowloaded Adobe reader.Is it the same as Adobe acrobat?
Also I don t know how to start editing my pdf document once I have downloaded the program.
No. Adobe Reader is the free product that does exactly that reads PDF files. Adobe Acrobat on the other hand is a product which does everything Reader does plus it can create, edit and merge PDF files. The downside to Acrobat is that it cost.
With the Adobe Reader that you downloaded you can't edit a PDF document only read it.

    how to download adobe reader on macbook pro?

    First of all, I want you to know that Mac OS X already has the ability to open and read PDF files. You do it with the Preview application. Also, on the Mac Adobe Reader is the third most vulnerable application to security risks. That is due to exploit are delivered through PDF files.
    If you decide to download it you should still stick to using Preview to open PDF files and only use Adobe Reader in the few cases that Adobe Reader is absolutely required. Preview is not vulnerable to the same exploits as Adobe Reader because it does not have all the capabilities as Adobe Reader.
    To get Adobe Reader go to: http://get.adobe.com/reader/
    Click on the download button. Once the download completes install the software.

  • Adobe reader displays a *.pdf document perfectly ...

    ... it also send's it to the printer (page by page),
    at the very end it 'pretends' the printer isn't connected (but it IS. i printed eMails and text-documents the minute before). see the error message in -> http://picasaweb.google.com/ggamauf/MeineAdobeSetup#5532446101589409618
    i'd be glad if somebody had and solved the same problem.
    i'll happily supply details if required.

  • Dev question: how to prevent Adobe Reader from copying pdfs to "Download/Adobe Reader"?

    I am making an app that downloads pdf files from a server and the users can decide to store them in the phone. Those files are kept in the app's private storage.
    The pdf files can be opened from inside the app. The problem is that every time a pdf is opened, adobe reader copies it in "Download/Adobe Reader" (the path may be different depending on the device and the android version). Those pdf files should not be available from outside my app. How can I prevent adobe reader from creating copies in that folder? Do I really have to make my app track them down and delete them? It wouldn't be the safest solution...
    In order to open the files, I se up a content provider:
    from the manifest:
    <provider
        android:name="android.support.v4.content.FileProvider"
        android:authorities="com.example.myapp.fileprovider"
        android:exported="false"
        android:grantUriPermissions="true" >
        <meta-data
            android:name="android.support.FILE_PROVIDER_PATHS"
            android:resource="@xml/filepaths" />
    </provider>
    And then, in a method, I do this:
    File pdfToRead = new File(pdfPath);
    Uri uri = FileProvider.getUriForFile(context, "com.example.myapp.fileprovider", pdfToRead);
    for (ResolveInfo resolveInfo : appsList) {
        String packageName = resolveInfo.activityInfo.packageName;
        context.grantUriPermission(packageName, uri, Intent.FLAG_GRANT_READ_URI_PERMISSION);
    openPDF(context, uri);
    public static final void openPDF(Context context, Uri localUri) {
        Intent i = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW);
        i.setDataAndType(localUri, PDF_MIME_TYPE);
        context.startActivity(i);
    Thanks for the help.

    Meh, I just hoped there was a way to tell acrobat "don't create a copy of the file because it's private". For now, I'm detecting the "downloads/Adobe Reader" folder, look if there's the file that was opened and delete it.
    Now I need to know something that I can't ask on stackoverflow: what paths does Adobe Reader use to create the "Adobe Reader" folder? Because not every device has an external sd card (external, not removable. Just for clarity). In my device it's at "Environment.getExternalStoragePublicDirectory(Environment.DIRECTORY_DOWNLOADS)+"/Adobe Reader".

    I previously had no difficulty opening and downloading forms on the net and now I receive a message that I have to download Adobe Reader. I have downloaded it into the download section of finder several times and nothing happens and I still can't access the forms. What should I do now? Thanks

    You have downloaded it, but have you installed it? In any case, if your difficulties persist, you can try downloading the full offline installer from

  • How to download Adobe Reader?  There used to be links on the Adobe webpage.

    Does another company handle adobe downloads now?  It used to be really easy to download Adobe Reader.  Now there's no mention of it on the web page.

    Do you do the distribution of the Reader software?  You may need to use the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/.  You may also need to sign a distribution agreement with Adobe (details on the same page).

  • How to download adobe reader in macbook air

    I just bought a macbook air few days ago, tried to install adobe reader but it didn't work, i can't still open a pdf file

    Adobe Reader is not needed to open a PDF file. Apple's PreView will open them, too. The current version of Adobe Reader is Adobe Reader 11.0.10.

  • How can I use the Adobe reader if the PDF documents are in iBooks?

    The Adobe reader asks me to look for an "Open in" button but iBooks does not appear to have one. I like IBooks because it synchronises nicely with the computer, and I can read the PDFs but I cannot highlight, add comments or add bookmarks unless I use the Adobe reader.

    Use iTunes to save the PDF FROM iBooks, and to add them to Adobe Reader.
    Connect your iPad to your computer. Bring up iTunes on your computer.
    To save a PDF FROM iBooks, click on "Books" in the Library section on the left. Select the PDF you want to save and right-click and choose Show in Finder (Show in Explorer in Windows). Go up one level in your computer hierarchy and you'll see all the "Books" (PDFs and eBooks) in iBooks.  You can leave them here if you want to view the PDFs in iBooks in the future, or drag them to the Desktop.
    To move the PDF TO Adobe Reader:
    Return to iTunes. Click on the iPad on the left in Devices. Click on the Apps tab. Scroll down the the File Sharing section as shown below. Click on Adobe Reader. Click the Add button and select the PDFs you identified in the previous step. They'll be added to Adobe Reader

  • Problem Downloading Adobe Control to view PDF documents

    Dear WebDynpro experts,
    I'm working on a problem which occurs if a user of my web Dynpro Java application tries to download
    a generated pdf document.
    I provide the pdf document using the INteractive Form element and create a download link.
    Due to the usage of the Interactive forms element the browser asks for installing an Adobe Control element.
    If I try to download this element I get the following error :
    An unexpected situation has occured while downloading neccessary SAP components to your PC.
    Please have a look on the information given below.
    If this information is not sufficient to solve the problem please click on the 'Show developer traces' Button.
    This will show more detailed information which will be useful for the SAP Customer Service.
    Error description
    Neither Adobe Acrobat 6 (or newer) nor Adobe Acrobat Reader 6 (or newer) seems to be installed correctly.
    The SAP Adobe integration needs at least one of this products to run successfully
    On my client I use Adobe reader 9. It seems that it is not recognised as propriate reader version.
    Is it possible to chnage some settings at the browser to force it to accept Acrobat 9 as appropriate Reader for my
    adobe Control element ?
    Since my pdf will not be used interactively I would also be happy to completely skip the Adobe element download.
    On Firefox there's no need to download it and it works great. But this seems not to be possible with my configuration (see my other open thread Netweaver 2004 :  How to create an pdf without need to use Adobe Control ? .
    Does someone of you know  a solution for my problem ?

    Hi
    Instead of goiningto  Adobe activeX control go to NATIVE type
    Change the  displayType property of interactive form to native instead of activeX
    Then there is no need to downloading Adobe activeX control
    Hope this solution help you

  • Adobe Reader XL and PDF Documents not opening EULA

    I have successfully loaded Adobe reader xl several times now and each time I try to open a pdf I get this prompt that says must accept EULA.  I can't find a EULA and am so frustrated.  I have a MAC. How can I fix this?

    You need to open Reader by itself (not in a browser), then accept the license agreement.
