iTunes refuses to play/read file, it cannot recognizes headers, or recognizes those as corrupt, but giving no error messages. The problem is the stored artwork(s) on your music files. To correct this, select the files that are corrupted/cannot be played on iTunes&iPod, click "Convert ID3 Tags...", then select v1.1 from the dropdown box (first, try this on a few to see that my solution is working).
By doing so, iTunes replaces headers, but your ID3 tags will not be changed (I assume you are using ID3 v2.4), nor you'll lose any info or anything else. This works as a hotfix for those files. If you try to replace headers via another program, your information will be truncated, and any artwork stored will be deleted. So I recommend this one.
You'll see that iTunes cannot play most of the files that has artwork(s) stored in them. New version hasn't fixed this problem, and it has risen with iTunes 8.2.x. If it's going to take long, I suggest you should go back to 8.1.x.

Don't know how to get album covers to show

I just got a 30gb iPod and want to know how to get the album covers to show when i play the song that the album relates to. I read something about using iPhoto but I have a PC. Can someone please tell me how to do this?

I have the albums on the songs in itunes
You put the album cover on the song file in iTunes?
the album pics are in the photos section of my ipod
This does nothing for displaying the cover on the iPod while it's playing.
i also checked to display album artwork from itunes
Uncheck it and then recheck it .
Are you using Manual or Auto update?

How To Delete Album Covers in iTunes?

Sometimes I want to delete the album covers I have for songs in iTunes. How do I do that? It'll add more than one cover but I can't seem to delete old or unwanted, or wrong album covers! Help!

Right click (control+click if using a one button mouse) on the file you want to remove the artwork from, choose Get Info then the Artwork tab, click on the image and press the delete button then OK. To remove from multiple items, highlight the adjacent tracks in your selection (click on the first in the list, hold down the shift key and click on the last), right click and choose Get Info, choose yes when you are asked if you want to edit multiple items, tick the box beside the small empty artwork window on the right. (if the songs aren't adjacent to each other but spread through out the playlist or library hold down the Command (⌘) key and click on each of the songs you want to highlight).

I have never had an iTunes account, and wanted to organise my music files (specifically Album Covers for my mp3's) if i opened an iTunes account would I be able to download the album covers for my music so that they would be displayed on my iPod?

If you have a store account, iTunes should be able to get album art from the store, provided that;
The store sells the album
The artist and album name are exactly as they appear in the store.

Hi, im just wondering how it is that you have an album cover showing when you're playing a track, e.g, the one on the iPod main site where it has the red hot chilli peppers cover there.
Where is it you copy the cover to, and how do you get it to show?

New ipod wont download album covers

My new ipod nano will downlaod all albums and their names but has only synched two or three album covers. Any ideas?

That would be a sensible thing to do but I forgot to mention that I have other ipods which work perfectly well (the original nano and a touch). I can't understand why they work but the new generation nano doesn't. Thanks anyway.

ITunes consistently fails to download album covers for soundtracks

Consistently. And always on soundtracks, whether they be new or old, TV or movie, etc. Sure, I can download the album cover and manually enter it, but that is time consuming. Anyone know of any special tricks to get iTunes to download these correctly?

looks like it will do the job for you, it will even update the itunes artwork, not just download it.

How to get albums covers also to phone (N97), not ...

I do not understand why does my N97 not have the album cover pictures but for about 10% of the albums. Especially odd this is regarding that Ovi Suite displays the same albums with cover pictures on PC.
All the albums have been copied from my CD's.
Those albums having their cover displayed in both the phone and the pc are, e.g., Hard Days Night (Beatles), and Beethoven: Klavierkonzerte by Deutsche Grammophon.
Those albums having their cover displayed only on pc (not on phone) include, e.g., Heavy Horses (Jethro Tull) and Eternelle, Best of (Edith Piaf and others).

Ovi Player is sometimes erratic with album art - if you add it to trakcs using Ovi Player it isn't always transferred to the phone.

Under "Advanced" in iTunes, one can download covers to one's computer. However, after copying to the iPod, covers do not appear.
This continuation is not about how to download teh covers (hint in previous paragraph), but that they don't appear once they are downloaded!

So I purchased Navigon app on my iphone 4 with my iTunes account id then got a new iPhone 4s and signed in with the required Apple ID and now Navigon app does not recognize me as its owner. When I try to restore purchases I make on the app it tells me to buy it first.
