How can an mp4 video be downloaded in Safari 6? This mp4 is in the url. That is the only thing on the page. When I try save as, Safari can save as page source or web archive. Neither include the video file.

I understand that you have used the same account for many years, but the technology is also changing constantly. Years ago the standard was POP (Post Office Protocol), which was designed at a time when it was inconceivable that anyone would access their email from more than one device. When people started using multiple devices, for the most part they wanted to see changes on one device mirrored on another. A new standard, IMAP (Internet Mail Access Protocol) was developed. In your case you could use this to create a separate folder for each family member, so they could move messages to their own folder and not clutter up the shared Inbox. Most computer mail readers can even automatically sort incoming mail into folders based on the contents of the message.
IMAP is considered a "higher level" standard than POP. When you create a mail account iOS devices query the server and ask what it supports; if it says it supports IMAP then the account is automatically configured for IMAP. So if you really want POP you must fool it, as described in the link above. In my experience Android devices default to the highest level protocol also, and I suspect newer Blackberries do (although it has been 15 years since I used a BB).

How do I get mp4 videos to play in Dropbox on iPad2?

Dropbox and converting video files is new stuff for me, so this may be something simple I am missing. I converted 3gp videos to mp4 videos and copied them into my Dropbox on my PC. As expected, the videos showed up in my Dropbox on my iPad2. When I went to play the mp4 videos on the iPad, I got the same message as I did with the 3gp videos--"enable flash". Obviously, something is wrong. How do I get these mp4 files to play?
The mp4 videos also had a narrower frame, making the people in the video look skinny. Is that typical when you convert the 3gp file to mp4?

I do not want to try some third party BS (Perian, iskysoft, etc...) However, I am seeing others on this site explain how to download a video from Youtube using either Safari or Firefox, but I really can't figure it out and I am very frustrated. I am not trying to download the video to another software program, such as Final Cut Pro or anything.
I want the video, to add to a Powerpoint presentation, that will eventually be uploaded to Youtube. I have never uploaded a video to Youtube before.
I've tried using Safari < Window < Activity< then double clicking on the line that shows the MB's increasing do to the video loading, but that has not worked at all either.

You should be able to download it just by double-clicking the video file, It will appear in the Downloads window as "videoplayback.flv" and save to your Downloads folder. Handbrake will let you convert it to a usable format.

For video editing, google... there are countless solutions,
from super
expensive shareware to not so expensive basic tools... Seldom
any freeware
when comes to video editing tools.
