    From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919 :
Depending on the content type, open the App Store, iBooks, or iTunes Store on your device.
Scroll to the bottom of the main page.
If you're not already signed in, tap Sign In.
Tap your Apple ID name, then tap View Account.
Scroll down on the Account pane, and tap Hidden Purchases.

  • How to download a previous purchase, it says open under the app

How do I download a previous purchase when it says open under app not the down load symbol

When it shows Open instead of download, it means that app is already installed. Click open and it will open the app. You can't download a previous version of the app, only the current version that is avialable in the store.

  • How do I download my previously purchased songs (on a different computer) on a PC running XP? I have followed the instructions but none of it allows me to download my songs. I deauthorized all computers and authorized this one only but it didn't help.

I had to change computers and cannot access my old drive. iTunes shows me the list of songs but I cannot get most to play. Instead I get a message saying "cannot locate"
I have tried following the support tutorials but it still does not allow me to download my previous purchases.
I tried de-authorizing all computers and then re-authorizing this on but it still doesn't allow me to access most of my songs.

It sounds like you might have broken links to your content. Either repair these by putting the files you've recovered where iTunes expects to find them or delete the broken entries then go to iTunes Store > Purchased > Music > Not on This Computer, and click the download links.

  • How to download a previously purchased OS 10.7 to install over 10.5.8?

Hi there, at my previous job I was given a MacBook Air for development purposes. I paid using my own account $30 to buy OS X Lion (10.7) through the Mac App Store and upgraded the computer. Before leaving I reinstalled the original 10.6 on it and returned it to the company. Now, I have a MacBook Pro I bought a few years ago and it has 10.5.8 on it. I know I can't use the Mac App Store on that version, and being that I had already purchased the software under my personal account, I technically own it. I'd like to download it somehow to install on my computer. I'm not willing to buy 10.6 just to upgrade to 10.7 and I don't have access to any other Macs. If it helps I'm near an Apple Store. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks!

If you upgrade your computer from Leopard to Snow Leopard 10.6.8, then you may access your App Store account from which you can re-download your software.
Upgrading to Snow Leopard, Lion, or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You must purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
             7. Xserve (Early 2009)
         Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
Am I eligible for the free upgrade?
See Apple - Free OS X Mountain Lion upgrade Program.
For a complete How-To introduction from Apple see Upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.

  • HT201272 if you are downloading a previously purchased app, will you download the version you purchased or the most recent version?

Is there any legitimate way to download a previous version of an app (if you already purchased it)? Or is any download of an app on iTunes always going to be the most recent version?

So if it is an app no longer available in the app store, and you download it (since you already purchased it), the version you download will be the most recent version before it was removed and not the version you downloaded right?

  • Cannot download a previously purchased app after switching computers

I switched from a Macbook Pro to an iMac.  Afterwards, I was unable to open a particular app. iTunes App Store does not give me a download icon for this app when I click the Purchased link and search for the app.
When I search for my computer, the .ipa file cannot be found.

If you have the app listed (even though you might not have the actual .ipa file on that computer) in the Apps part of our Mac's iTunes library then it won't show in the Purchased link for redownloading. Try deleting it from your library and then see if it shows as being redownloadable via the Purchased link under Quick Links.

  • HT201272 I downloaded a previously purchased app.  I have the receipt for the in app purchase, yet the game wants to charge me again to unlock.  What do I do?

I have downloaded a past purchase from the app store through iTunes.  It was a trial game that you unlock with an in app purchase.  I paid the price and unlocked it months ago and still have the receipt.
When I try to restore the purchase, the in-app unlock is no longer working and the App Store wants to charge me another $4.99.
    What do I do?

    You CANNOT download music again.
You buy one and only one download.  It is your responsibility to move/copy/backup your music.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.  Use your backup copy to put the music back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup (not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod.  File>Transfer Purchases

    Help Please

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Did you purchase the applications from the Mac App Store? If so, make sure you have logged in with the same Apple ID. Then, go to Purchases and see if your apps appear listed. If not, see if they are hidden, and if so, unhide them > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4928

  • HT201272 I previously downloaded iphone apps and stored them on my phone and computer. Now I want to download them to my ipad but my iphone bit the dust. how can I get previously purchased apps to my new ipad.?

I purchased an application that offered all kinds of books, imbedded within, at no cost...now on IPAD all like books, study guides, are imbedded for purchase. I dont see why I have to pay for the application twice...It was Olive Bible : offering on my phone at least 5-10 different  translation, plus 20+ books by the old Church preachers dating back to the reformation forward. Please advise how to access my iphone apps...already paid for...to install on my ipad.

If they are still in the store and you are signed in with the same account (and they are compatible with iPads) then you should be able to download them on your iPad via the Purchased tab in the App Store app - you may need to tap the 'iPad Apps' button at the top left of that screen and select 'iPhone Apps' instead.
Or if you have on your computer's iTunes you can connect the iPad to your computer and select it on the left-hand sidebar (on iTunes 11 you can enable the sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC) and then use the Apps tab on the right-hand side of iTunes to select and sync them to your iPad.

  • How to get a Previously purchased app  from the App Store from a different account on the same computer?

Recently had to replace my hard drive and some info has gone missing.  An App from the App Store for one.  How can I get it back now that I have a new account?  It wont let me sign on with the old one anymore.

There's no need to create a new Apple ID just because the hard drive was replaced.
Apps can only be re downloaded using the same Apple ID they were purchased with originally.
You will have to re purchase the app using the new Apple ID.
