How to download Enterprise SOA open source kit ?

Hi,
Can any body help me to how to download Enterprise SOA free version kit ?
Regards,
Anshul

Hi Anshul,
There is nothing available for download like Enterprise SOA free version kit .
for ESOA, ESR is used to design/define services which is currently shipped with
CE 7.1 which is released for customers
PI 7.1 which is still in ramp up( evaluation phase)
If you want to use the services , they are delivered in the form of Enhancement Packages which are deplyoed with ERP.
If you want to consume Enterprise Services, You can use any tool which can consume Web Services because both are same.
To download all these thinggs( CE,PI 7.1 or Enhancement Packages), you need service marketplace id.
If you want to see/test the services provided by SAP, you use ES Workplace on SDN.

Piyush

How can I convert my Open Source document files into Word document files? I cannot download Pages since my Macbook Air does not have the most recent software. I downloaded open office to my mac to try and save money. It worked well for a while. Now I get this pop-up message that asks me to "Reopen" and when I select the option, nothing happens. I cannot save my documents anymore and I cannot convert them to word. Help!

You have 17 options to save as in Open Office, one of which is .doc  files,  yes it needs to be saved manually.
You may be able to default to DOC, but have not tried same.
Since Open Office is 99% same as Word, I use it, or Word, either one.  Open Office is a bit less buggy than Word 11'

  • [SOLVED]How licensing works in overall open source community.

As the title suggests, i don't know much about licensing schemes in the world of software and computing.
So, if there's anyone who can describe about overall licensing schemes i''l be glad, i just want to know some basic stuff like:
How one can license "his/her/other" software under some of available licenses such as GPL/MIT.
What is the best way to choose license for your software .
What if you want to earn some money while giving your users complete freedom to do whatever with your software (that includes the source code).
I know there is OSI but that stuff is little complicated for me as i'm no lawyer.
    Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure what you mean by "remove it from github".  It is your github, unless you are handing out your password, no one can remove your code from github but you.  They can download a copy of it from github - as could anyone else could.
If you license code under an open-source license, can the end-user recipient turn around and sell it as closed source: that depends on the specific license.  With a big 'AFAIK', LGPL allows this, while GPL and MIT do not.  But you chose the license, so you determine what you want to allow the licensee to do.  But even with the LGPL, unless they are making substantial additions to your code, I don't think there would be a purpose in them selling it.  LGPL is really for libraries that can be used as a component in closed source software.  If you released something freely and it was available on github, not many would buy it from someone else.
If I offered to sell you a copy of dwm under a proprietary license, first you should laugh: why pay me for it, it's free already.  Second you should report it to the suckless team, as the license underwhich I recieved dwm does not allow me to redistribute under a proprietary license.
Selling for a profit in my previous post was in reference to code that one writes themselves, not code they get from someone else.  No one can (legally) sell - or even redistribute for free - any code that someone else wrote, unless the original author has granted such permission (or if the original author left the permission wide open as in WTFYW type licenses or releasing it into the public domain).
Selling licenses for profit will not ever be practical in open source, IMHO.  But there is nothing legally preventing it (in most cases).  Contract-coding does seem to be a much more practical approach.  And yet another practical approach is what I may do for some of my code used in research settings: academic researchers are always very worried about being "scooped" as a scientific publication can sometimes take years to get published.  If I accept a contract to write a tool that will help their work, they pay me, then I release it to everyone, then the researchers who paid me are at substantial risk.
I've thought of two ways to solve this: a dual license, one with a "sundown" clause so it applies for a certain time window only.  But as I am not a lawyer, nor do I want to hire one, I went with a much simpler approach.  I'll release the code under a GPL license, but I will not publish the code publicly until the agreed upon time window is over.  So they pay me some $$$ to write a program.  I write it and give it to them under an open source license.  We sign an additional agreement that I will not provide the code nor the program to anyone else for 6 months.  After 6 months, I can post it on github.
This example highlights one common misconception on open source licenses: the source code doesn't need to be publicly available.  Any licensee must be provided with the code, or a means of obtaining it (depending on the license).  But if I only license my program to that one team of researchers, they are the only ones I have to make the source code available to.  If they wanted, they certainly could redistribute that code before the 6 month term had passed - but they wouldn't, they are the ones benefiting from that 6 month window.
EDIT: I went on a few tangents, back to the original question here:
speeider wrote:I don't understand this quite a bit, Like what if i want to sell my software "say like, which is also available on github under GPL/MIT" what peculiarities does it contain "Does that mean the buyer can then remove it from github and make it a closed source"... i don't want that.
Whether or not they can resell it under a proprietary license has nothing to do with whether they paid you for it.  It depends only on the license under which you provided it to them.  You *can* sell your code under a GPL license, but this is subject to the limitations due to practicality above.  If you post the code up on a public site like github with a GPL license, then try to sell it for a profit, you'll really get nothing.  There are enough consumers out there who say "why pay for it when I can download a copy for free."  They say this when 'downloading for free' is illegal, but selling GPL'ed code posted publicly on github would mean 'downloading for free' was legal.

It should be possible to open them using some sort of archive application (like Winzip, WinRAR, Ark...). • ATI Radeon drivers problems (both open-source and proprietary)

    Hi 2 All!!
I have a problem with my ATI Radeon 9000-series. The open source drivers (xf86-video-ati) don't work very good for me, my monitor's fresh rate isn't "at-top" and the monitor projection is slightly translated to the right (say 8-12 pixels). So I've tried to build the official drivers with ABS, all is gone successfully, except for some worrying warnings, but I thought that it's normal. I have a customized kernel, build through ABS... So, when I've tried to load the fglrx module it says:
    # modprobe fglrx
FATAL: Error inserting fglrx (/lib/modules/2.6.27-ARCH/video/fglrx.ko): Cannot allocate memory
Please, help me! My machine is slow, I can't run any OpenGL-accelerated application, even Quake III!!! If you can suggest me how to improve the performance and how to resolve problems with open-source drivers, it also would be very good... Thank you and sorry for my poor English please.

I had some problems with installing ATI drivers recently (could not build fglrx module, not even manually, I had to change some installation script), but with latest driver version (8.11 I think) from ati.amd.com was everything fine (I have Radeon 9600 Pro)
Try to do this (and write here the output)
    glxinfo | grep vendor
    fglrxinfo
In both cases, it should write something like OpenGL...: ATI... if there will be MESA or DRI, that means that you don't have loaded your fglrx module.
If fglrxinfo output will be something like: no permission for...(should be first or second line of the output), then write this somewhere in your xorg.conf:
       Section "DRI"
           Mode 0666
       EndSection
    run:
modprobe -a fglrx - and give here the output. If there will be none, run:
lsmod | grep fglrx - to see wheter fglrx module is really loaded in kernel
if you will have no module, you can install one, type:
    cd /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod
    sh make.sh
    cd ../
    sh make_install.sh (as root)
and post any warning or error here at forum, drivers (but not fglrx module) are installed at /usr/share/ati
After installing drivers, you also need to configure your system (notice your system that it's there), commands:
aticonfig --initial (for editing your xorg.conf)
aticonfig --overlay-type=Xv (acceleration support in xorg.conf)
Showing your xorg.conf file here is also good idea, here is mine (sections Device and Screen):

    Hi Jai!
I'm not sure about this information because the last time I have used the flash builder into a linux machine was in 2007, but check this out:
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flex/flexbuilder_linux/
It says you will need to use SDK from the command line to build flex application.

  • How Open source Flex looks to a mid level developer

Here is my response to a post Matt made on a blog:
    THe whole post:
    http://blog.simb.net/2009/01/19/take-flex-back-for-the-community/
    @Matt
1st off thanks, now my input:
The crux of your criticism seems to be that the process that we use for decision-making is closed its certainly not how we feel
Unfortuntly, this seems like a case of bad commuication by Adobe and the Flex team. If notable community experts get the impression of closed doors, then *certainly* the rest of us get this impression as well.
but there has been very little participation from the community so far
Im a solid dev, and not an expert but I can contribute in things such as testing and low level optimization; But, the Adobe open source site is a galactic disaster and discourages me from getting invloved. It has so many webpages that just go around in circles - filled with text that is verbose, this frustrates me to a great deal. As opposed to somehting straight foreward like:
    http://framework.zend.com/download/latest
    or
    http://code.google.com/p/papervision3d/
Everything is here and easily notable. I avoid the seamingly endless pages and confusion. If I want to get to the Flex dev mailing list I have to register, then choose the lists, add the lists to my account. go though my account prefs read some directions.. then set up some other preferences..jeeeezzzz. If I want to submit a feature request I am directed to create another login for some Bug and Issue management? HUH? I thought I was submitting a featue request.
Right on papervisions google HOME page I see Getting started > Papervision3D Mailing List.
Next when I finially do get to Flex SVN, this trunk. is nothing like I have seen.what IS all this stuff and where do I go to learn about it? There are countless subfolders filled with things I vaguely understand and if I want to learn what it is. where do I go? Is there even a src folder?
    Here is a classic example.
    Flex trunk Read Me:
    http://opensource.adobe.com/svn/opensource/flex/sdk/trunk/README.txt
    vs.
    Zend Trunk Read me:
    http://framework.zend.com/svn/framework/standard/trunk/README.txt
*What* is the Flex team thinking with this?
I just spent 5 minutes or so twirling through all these SVN directories and Adobes website and I am clueless. I feel like the project is unessarily complex and disorganized - even if it isnt. This just convinced me to delete my Flex sdk bookmark on my SVN client.
Adobe just lost one potential contributor to Flex SDK.
We have another idea that were bouncing around that I hope to share in a week or two but wont get into now.
Saying stuff like this is what gives people the impression of closed. Why not post these ideas the Flex team has? Even if it is stupid or incomplete
    Thats the whole point.

Wow, thanks for your response. This is great.<br /><br />I now understand that I had a combination of prejudice and ignorance  <br />when regarding Adobe Open Source. Perhaps my ignorance on these  <br />particulars is something that other devs encounter ( that whole  <br />perception thing ).   I have chatted with people who consider the Flex  <br />SDK and Flex Builder... not the same... but fused together so much  <br />that it'd be just crazy to try and use one with out the other   When I  <br />mention using Flex without Flex Builder.... people get that glazed  <br />over look in their eyes....( FYI I'm a FDT man, but am keeping a close  <br />eye on the new Flex Builder )<br /><br />I'll use Zend as an example ( it's the best that I can come up with )  <br />but I feel like there is a difference between the open source  <br />framework and Zend Studio ( commercial software ). Anyway, I'm really  <br />excited about how you've responded to all this.  I have more ideas,  <br />but Ill sit on them and think it through and get ready for next weeks  <br />meeting.<br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />Alan<br /><br /><br />On Jan 23, 2009, at 1:31 AM, Matt Chotin wrote:<br /><br />> A new message was posted by Matt Chotin in<br />><br />> General Discussion --<br />>  How Open source Flex looks to a mid level developer<br />><br />> I've delayed responding to this because frankly I'm not sure what to  <br />> say for much of it.  The first thing I have to point out is that  <br />> many of the things you mention are related to Flex Builder and not  <br />> the Flex SDK, which is the part that is open source. • How to download phonegap source code in DW cs6

im using dreamweaver cs6 and phonegap to develop android, i can download app.apk, but how to download java source file to open project in eclipse? can some expert advise me?

Just an FYI, nobody uses Table-based layouts anymore.  It's much better to use CSS for layouts.  Only use tables for tabular data like spreadsheets and charts.
Dreamweaver has a bunch of pre-built CSS Layouts for you to use as starter pages.  Just go to File > New > Blank page > HTML.  Pick a layout from the 3rd panel and hit Create button.  See screenshot below.

  • How to download WD source code?

    Hi,
I would like to download WD source code and then upload it in another system without the need of a transport.
Do you have any idea how to do so?
    Thanks,
    Itay

There is a fantastic open source project SAPLINK  for sharing ABAP related programs/classes between systems without the need for a transport. This can be used in the scenario you have mentioned
    Link:[Saplink |http://code.google.com/p/saplink/]
For WD ABAP, you would need a ABAP Web Dynpro Plugin Link:[http://code.google.com/p/saplink-plugins/downloads/list?can=2&q=wdyn&colspec=FilenameSummaryUploadedSizeDownloadCount]

  • Is there an easy way to use the VMware Studios Open Source download?

I noticed there was a relatively current open source download package for VMware Studio, so I downloaded it, hoping there were instructions on applying the new software to the appliance.  The download was a tar.gz file, which appears to include source code for those OSS packages.
So, I am concluding that my hope that this was an update to VMware Studio was unfounded.
Is there any news, at all, about plans to update VMware Studio?  It is obvious that a VMware-internal tool exists as they use it to create their own appliances which appear to have fixed some issues, such as IE10 access.
    Thanks Dan

You do not need to invoke Finder to do this. Create a new empty Automator workflow and use the "Run Shell Script" option. Paste in the following....
    mv ~/Downloads/* ~/.Trash
You can then save the workflow as an application, attach it as a Finder action or add it to the scripts menu, whichever you like better.
If you would like to bypass the Trash and just completely delete the Downloads folder contents immediately, then paste in this command:
