I cannot dowload i-photo 9.6 after having downloaded yosemite. what to do?

10,000 isn't a lot of pics. AN iPhoto Library is good for 1,000,000.
Sounds like a damaged database.
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Have you checked every folder that is in the DCIM folder?

Not importing Iphone photos after Yosemite upgrade

After my Yosemite update, and update to Aperture 3.6, my Iphone 4 is no longer recognized in import window to download photos and clear iphone. Anyone have a solution?

I had the same problem.
I connected my iPhone 4 to the left USB port instead of the right one, and it worked.
Finally appearing in Aperture / iPhoto / Image Capture.

They should be on your computer.
Just sync them to your iphone.

How to save your photos after upgrading to iOS 6 OTA and stuck in DFU or Recovery Mode

Ive been working on this all day. I found somebody's JAR that is able to provide SSH acess into your phone even if you are stuck in recovery or dfu mode. I am running a macbook pro with win 64 bootcamp and couldnt get itunes 32 bit installed to work with the JAR so I restarted in MacOS rather than mucking around with getting itunes 32. I then clicked the JAR and mac asked to install a java runtime. After doing this, the JAR would run and eventually put my phone into a state where I could SSH into it. After that, I downloaded Cyberduck and copied /mnt1 and /mnt2 to my mac in case I needed anything off of these. I ran PhotoRec and it began to find tons of pictures, pdfs, and whatnor. Rather than wait for it to find the stuff I really wanted, I searched through /mnt2/mobile/media/dcim/ and got all my pics. Awesome. What a pain.
That took all day to figure out. Ugh.

How to replace home folder after yosemite erase-reinstall?

Hi, I did an erase-reinstall and then simply copied my backed-up home folder (administrator's home folder) back into the new home folder but this has not worked well. Can anyone tell me the correct procedure of how to restore the home folder. I have a Time Machine back-up from a previous online Yosemite install (not an erase-install) as well as a regular back-up on a separate drive. Can I fix this up (i.e. remove the whole current home folder and replace it properly) without doing another erase-install of yosemite? Many thanks, Barak

I am very new to Lightroom 5. I immediately imported all my photos from "Mu Pictures" and then learned from a tutorial that I could set up "naming" to be added as I imported. How do I remove them so that I can re-import them with the naming feature set up?

Go to the Catalog tab at the top of the left hand panel and click on All Photographs.
Press Ctrl+A to select all and then hit delete.
Just remove from catalog and not from disk.

How do you make iAlertU take a photo and email it to you whenever the computer wakes up? I only know how to use it when you "arm" it as an alarm, which can get annoying to do all the time. I just looked in their preferences and I don't think you can set it to email you a photo whenever it wakes up without being in alarm mode.

I have just recently started using the Lightroom 5 trial. I have edited photos that I would like to export to use for Christmas cards but I am not having luck moving them out of Lightroom? Anyone else have this problem? I am using a Mac Pro and trying to save/export to an external hard drive.

If you moved the files or re-named them using Finder then Lightroom will know nothing about it and you will have broken the links in the database. Otherwise photos will show as off-line if the external hard disk containing your originals is not connected to the computer or is connected to a different port.
