How to download lion os 10.7?

I am running on 10.5.8, can someone tell me how to download 10.7 or the link to the download, because i don't have the app store in my mac, please reply.

You can't. You first need to upgrade to 10.6.x - by purchasing Snow Leopard from the Apple Store (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard) - and then, if your machine is equipped to run Mountain Lion, you can upgrade to it. You cannot download Snow Leopard nor is Lion available in the App Store.

  • How to download Lion server

    Hi there,
i recently got a Mac mini server with Lion server preinstalled. Is there a way to redownload server (without using the restore function) since neither Lion client, nor Lion server do appear in the Mac App Store as "purchased"?

Thanks, but how does the disk assistant help me to download Lion server? As far as i understand the disk assistant helps me to recover my hdd, but i will have to redownload Lion+Server over again. That is what i do not want to do everytime i reinstall Lion Server.
What i want is having Lion and Server on an external drive, so in case of reinstalling i do not have to download it, but can install from the external drive.

  • How to download Lion again to make bootable USB drive?

I downloaded Lion and have it installed.  Wanted to create a bootable USB drive from the .dmg file but it's gone after install.  How can I download again?  App Store shows it's installed and won't let me re-download.

This is not difficult and you will not have to download from the app store.
your computer has what is called  a recovery partition that came with it.
simply hold cmd+R while you boot up. let go a second after you hear the chime.
you will boot into the recovery partition.
Use disk utlity to format your usb drive and then exit Disk utlity and go to Reinstall Mountain Lion.
it will ask  you which disk you want to install ML onto. Choose your new USB drive.
    easy peasy

  • How to download Lion from Developer Center to install in Parallels VM

I have an iMac and a MacBook Air (MBA) both with OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. I need to create a Parallels virtual machine with Mac OS X 10.7 Lion as the guest OS to be run on the MBA. I have Parallels installed on the MBA; all I need to do now is to create the VM. But first, I need a Lion install.
So, I accessed the Developer Center and generated a Redeem Code for OS X Lion which I have successsfully added to my list of purchases in App Store. However, when I try to download OS X Lion the following message is reported.
Any ideas how I can download Lion to install into my VM?

    Kappy wrote:
I guess I shouldn't ask why you would want to run Lion in a Parallels' VM.
I'm a software developer. I have a customer that has expressed a need for me to test the software being developed on Mac OS X Lion as well as OS X Mountain Lion. (I may also need to test on Snow Leopard but that's not definite at the moment.) I have Mountain Lion installed on my development machine (iMac) and test machine (MacBook Air) and I'd like to keep it that way - hence, my desire to install Mountain Lion in a Parallels VM.
As a registered member of the Apple Developer Program and as I understand it, I have access to past versions of Mac OS X - hence, the redeem code. This appeared to be the easiest way to get the OS X version(s) I need. It turns out, appearances can be deceiving.
Nothing shifty going on here, I assure you.

  • How to download Lion to multiple computers

    Please help !
I have installed Lion on my desktop computer.  How do I download Lion for my laptop.  Yes, I did pay for this, but it was a download from the store.    The directions to do this for multiple computers seem non-existant.    Additionally, when I log in to my Apple account it does NOT note that I have purchased Lion at all.     My laptop does have 10.6.8 loaded.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanking everyone in advance for the haste in response.

When you purchase Lion from the Mac App Store, you can install it on all your authorized Mac computers. Just sign in to the Mac App Store from each Mac and download Lion from the Purchases list.
The icon say's install instead of the price so it recognises that I have purchased it all ready but it does not download.
May be a connection problem, just try again.  Go to the purchased tab, when you click Install, you should be asked for your Apple Account, then you should see:

  • How to download Lion from Mountain Lion

As I see I have a specific problem. On my old MacBook White (4.1) I have installed Leopard. On MacBook Air I have Mountain Lion, and on iMac I had Snow Leopard and then bought Lion, and I recently upgraded it to Mountain Lion. So… my problem is that I can’t download and install Lion on my MacBook White. It is too old for Mountain Lion and since I have Mountain Lion on iMac and MacBook Air App Store don’t want to download Lion. I have Download button but can’t download it. Since I already paid for this product I don’t see any reason why I couldn’t download it again.

    In your iMac:
    1. Do a Time Machine backup
    2. Open Terminal and write:
    cd /
    sudo nano /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist
    3. Open Finder, select Go > Go to Folder, write /System/Library/CoreServices and copy SystemVersion.plist to another folder
    4. Go to Terminal. You will see the file, and you have to change the text with the bold words:
    ?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs$
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
            <key>ProductBuildVersion</key>
            <string>11E53</string>
            <key>ProductCopyright</key>
            <string>1983-2012 Apple Inc.</string>
            <key>ProductName</key>
            <string>Mac OS X</string>
            <key>ProductUserVisibleVersion</key>
            <string>10.7.4</string>
            <key>ProductVersion</key>
            <string>10.7.4</string>
    </dict>
    </plist>
    5. Press Control and X keys and save that file
    6. Open App Store > Purchases and download Lion
    7. Open Finder, select Go > Go to Folder, write /System/Library/CoreServices and move the SystemVersion.plist that you copied to this folder

It's very dangerous and only do it at your risk. I don't recommend this

  • How to download lion installation files using windows

    Hi,
I installing a SSD into my new Macbook Pro and need to download Lion so I can do a clean install.
My problem is that I only have 1GB download limit at home so I would like to download at work. But work only has Windows based machines. Is there anyway to download it on a windows?
The nearest Apple store is 2 hours drive away, and I cannot connect my Mac into the work network.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

You didn't mention a redemption code.
You can download it, on a Mac. Do you know someone with a wireless network and a large download limit?
I would seriously be looking at updating your Internet Plan. A standard update of any OS (Not just the inital Lion download) will wipe out your allowance in one hit. If you want to keep your system up to date, you will find it almost impossible on 1GB of monthly download data. Even if you bought Snow Leopard and installed it, the updates would well outweigh your allowance.
    Cheers

  • How to download Lion to External HD

I need to download Lion from Apple Store to an external Hard Drive and make it bootable. Where can I find step by step procedure?

Do you want a second install of Lion?
You can Clone your current install of Lion to an external drive.
Or are you looking to make a Lion Install USB key with this new download to the external drive?
If you are looking to make a USB installer key then you need to direct the download to the external and do not proceed with the install. Just disconnect the external when the download finishes and the computer restarts to start the install.

  • How to download Lion to a computer already running Lion using a different app store account?

    Hello Everyone,
I currently have Lion installed on my imac. A friend of mine currently has problems with his internet connection and would like me to download a copy for him. Anyway, I logged into the app store using his account but it won't let me download a copy for him. Lion just shows as being installed which is the case but I want a copy for him to burn to dvd. Do any of you know a solution to this? Of course, I could burn my copy for him but he wants his own.
    Many thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. I downloaded Lion again using my account and I have a copy of the installer that we could install on my friend's machine but we are concerned that he wouldn't get updates via the app store. This is why we wanted to purchase it for him using his account. The problem is that I can't buy it for him on my machine using his id because Lion is already running on my imac. We're trying to do this correctly and legally but it's proving to be quite difficult. Thanks again.

  • How to download lion

I need to upload OS on my mac pro how do I do it

A Mid 2012 Mac came with Mt Lion I think. So you use the online internet recovery system. At startup hold down the command + option/alt + r keys until you see a globe on the screen. From the screen that loads you can use disk utility to erase/partition and format the drive in the Mac format, if it isn't already, and then download and install the original version of OS X that came on you Mac.

  • How to download Lion when app store doesn't work

Hi, since purchasing my MacBook Pro in April i have never been able to get the App Store to work. I am now looking to upgrade to Lion but as i can't access it via the App Store has anyone got any ideas how i can purchase it. I presume in time it will be available from Amazon but i would prefer to get it sooner than that. Kind regards

It won't be available from Amazon anytime soon.
Install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo
    Then restart your Mac.
Then click your Apple icon top left in your screen then click App Store.

  • How to download lion a second time

It looks like my first download of lion is corrupted. I want to download the file again but the App store says it is alreayd installed and won't allow me to redownload it. Any ideas?
The install failed at boot and I kept getting errors. I can now only boot to Snow leopard via the boot options.

Boot into Snow Leopard then open the App Store and log in using the same Apple ID you used when you purchased Lion. Click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry.

  • How to download lion in macbook air 2011

    hi
i can not lion in macbook air new 2011
    because ask apple id !!!
    plz help

You need to set up an Apple App Store account in order to be able to dowload software from the App Store. An App Store account requires an Apple Id (normally this is your email address). If you don't have one you can set one up. Note this is the same id you use for iTunes so if you have an iTunes account use those credentials.
If you have a new MBA 2011 (i.e. one bought after about July this year) it will already be running Lion. To make sure go to the Apple menu (top left corner of screen) and select About this Mac. If the version of Mac OS X shown is 10.7 then that is Lion.
