Mail: how to download ONLY last emails and not the whole hotmail.

Quick question: like what Mail does in iPhones/iPads, how can I configure Mail in my iMac or Macbook Pro so that it only downloads the last, say 50 emails and not the 4000 aprox. emails I have inside the hotmail (now outlook) server?
I have been wanting to use mail for a long time but I can't seem to find that option. I only want to see the LAST EMAILS like what happens in the app on my iPhone.
Thanks.unless there is a special setting in yahoo webmail interface that allows this (gmail pop has it for example), there is no way to do it. POP will download all available messages on the first download. that's how POP works. from there on it will only download new ones.

How to download only specific photos from my camera?

I'm in the habit of not deleting the photo images from my camera's CF card frequently. The problem with using iPhoto is that that it appears to only allow me to download ALL or NOTHING of the photos on my camera. I would like to selectively download specific photos from my camera with iPhoto. Is this possible?

There is also a way to selectively upload directly to iPhoto. If your camera mounts on the desktop as an external drive, simply ignore iPhoto's initial uploading screen. [Click back on Library in the Source Pane if this screen distracts you.] Choose File> Import to Library. A window will open where you can navigate to your camera, preview the images, and select only the ones you wish to upload. As in the Finder, Shift-click will select a contiguous range, and Command-click selects multiple, nonconsecutive items.
If your camera does not mount on the desktop (most Canons do not) then you can use a card reader. Place the card in the reader, connect to the Mac via USB, and use the above method to upload from the card. This is my preferred method, since it saves on the camera's batteries.

Hi.
Ignore iPhoto's initial 'ready to import...' screen. Instead, choose File > Import to Library. There you'll get a navigation dialog. If your camera mounts on the Desktop like an external drive (it appears in the left column of a Finder window, below your Hard Drive) then you can navigate to the camera, preview the files, and select only the ones you wish to import.
If your camera does not mount on the Desktop (most Canons don't) then you can mount the card by using a USB card reader.
Or, use the multi-step method where you launch Image Capture, "Download Some" to a Desktop folder, import into iPhoto, and delete the Desktop folder. This method allows you to browse the files on your camera even if it doesn't mount on the Desktop.
A general Mac technique that works in the Finder, iPhoto, and many apps:
Shift-click to select a contiguous range of items;
Command-click to select or deselect discontiguous items.
About Image Capture: Command-click works if your put the window in 'List' view.

How can I only allow free apps to be downloaded to my IPhone 4S?
Sorry, but there's no way I know of to restrict downloading to free apps only. You can turn off purchasing of apps completely, but if purchasing is allowed, it's open other than by age range. You can of course remove any purchase method, but I don't believe that blocks the purchase; you just end up owing money.

Did you downloaded and installed Photoshop and Illustrator CS6 through Creative Cloud.
After uninstalled them, Creative Cloud saying applications are "Up to Date" when not installed.
If this is the case then please perform the steps given in the help document.

I inherited this app and signing the third party jars is how it was setup, I was wondering the same thing too, why was it necessary to sign the third party jars?
The applet runs in either JRE 1.6.0_13 or JRE 1.6.0_27 depending on the other Java apps the user uses. JRE 1.6.0_13 does not have the mixed code security (so it is like is disable), but JRE 1.6.0_27 does have the mixed code security and the applet will not launch with mixed code security enable, so we have to disable it. With all the hacking going on in the last two years, is important to improve security; so this is a must.

So basically my question is how do i apply this update? I've been trying for days but it'd would download and then give an error code when processeing and die on me. So i finally switched of my anti virus and it downloaded and processed fine but now because i was worried the download wont complete i clicked on "download only" option and once the download was done, the window dissapeared and i cant find an option to apply the software update! HELP!
With the iPod connected to the computer, what happens when you click on the update button in the Summary pane of iTunes? That is all I had to do when I selected download only.

To select consecutive images click and drag the cursor over multiple thumbnails to select all at once.
To select multiple images that are randomly located hold down the Command(⌘) key and click on those images you want to select.
Or to select consecutive images from a list of images that are together hold down the Shift key and and click on the first photo you want to select and the on the last photo you want in the list.
