Pages 5.2 may well have a lot of nice new features but given that it is now 30% fatter why has Apple removed essential features without publishing any warning about such excisions. 5.2 is very likely to ruin any 4.3 file you open, worse it stops 4.3 from working even after you trash it. All you get is a notice saying you will have to reinstall 4.3. Where is the best place to get download a reinstall file, any know?

The Mac App Store (MAS) only carries the most recent version of an app. Which is why Apple constantly reminds folks to backup their content purchases. Once Apple updates/upgrades to a newer version of an app, older versions are no longer available for download.
The accept ion to this is when you are running an older version of OS X on your Mac. Sometimes folks report that they are able to download the last version of an app that runs on their legacy version of OS X. Those are specific circumstances when the MAS does that.

That's what it says, mine did too and was out of date. when Lion killed it.
Don't bother fixing it, it's a 4 year old machine and at it's end of life anyway, something else will just die on it, like the keyboard, the superdrive, the hard drive etc etc.
Wth all the money you'll spend fixing it, you could have a new machine.
Mac' laptops only last aobut 4 years with daily use now.

How to download Pages for Mac OS X 10.6.8?

Hi all,
I have Mac OS X 10.6.8. Version 10.7.4 is required to be able to install Pages.
Is an upgrade to Mountain Lion worth the money, and will it enable me to download Pages from the Apple Store? If not, is there a possibility to buy an older version of Pages somewhere?
Also, does an upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion equal an upgrade to OS X 10.8?

The early bugs were related to Snow Leopard updates, they just affected Pages. It was font issues & was "cured" by using the combo updaters. So, even if you're using Snow Leopard 10.6.8, it would be worth running the combo updater you can download from this page, especially if you're having issues.

What software has issues with Lion? I might know of some tips that could help. Personally, I moved from Lion to Mountain Lion as soon as I could. Lion has too many issues itself. But I do keep a couple of older Macs to run stuff that can't be run without Rosetta or other "legacy" systems.

I cannot see the download page when i click on the process at the upper right corner of the browser, is it normal?

I have asked to download a video from an online grabber. It started downloading and the process was showing how much time was left (on the display showing download process) the icon next to the HOME icon on the upper right side of the browser.
I usually click on the icon and it gives me the option "show all downloads". It wasn't working and this is not the first time!
Last time i had to stop a giant download and i couldn't. Even when i restarted FIREFOX it was still running in the background.
I knew this because when i came to close all tabs it said "this will cancel current download".
I had to REINSTALL from ZERO the Firefox.
But now i have this problem where i can't see all the download page. This is the second time and i think it is related to the online video grabber.

Page Transport does not replace the old Page, same issue with Folder trans

I have an issue with the Portal Transport for page and folder.
First issue:
I have a page with 2 iviews(iview1 and iview2) added to it as delta links. This page is tranported to test environment and it looks fine with 2 iviews in test. Now I remove iview2 from page and add iview3 to it. Now the page has iview1 and iview3 in it. Now when I tranport the page to test portal, I see all the 3 iviews assigned to the page. Does the portal transport replace the whole page or just appends to it. If that is the case, how do we solve the problem of removing the iview, other than manually going and removing it from the test portal.
The same issue happens with the folder as well. I have 3 pages in a folder . I transported the folder to test portal and the test portal has 3 pages as well. Now when I delete one page and do the transport to test, I still see all the 3 pages in the folder.
Let me know if this is a standard issue with the portal , or if there is solution to this issue.

Hi Michael,
The issue is resolved by first deleting the page then created a brand new page with the name name, adding the 2 iviews and transporting to the test portal. Now the page on the test portal also shows 2 iviews.
The old page had some delta link references to some iviews, even though I removed the iviews from the page. I noticed this by adding the page to the transport package and set the option "resolve references" to "Yes". When the export the tranport package, I saw all the iviews which I have deleted also in the transport package. I do not know why.
Anyway I am closing this thread, as the problem has been solved.

How much will it cost me to replace the whole top screen of my macbook, including the part that pivots to open and close it?

I'm not sure of what it's exactly called, but my whole screen (including the black part that attaches the screen to the keyboard) is in bad condition. My screen is cracked, and when I open my macbook, the hinge is loose and flops and does not stay in place. Does anybody know how much it would cost for a replacement? Would I be better off buying a new laptop?

You should call the repair shop of your choice and ask for an estimate. Make sure the estimate includes taxes, labor costs, etc.
Remember, no one can give you an exact figure until the repair techs physically examine & run diagnostics on your computer to confirm what is wrong w/it.

How to download a table of data to the FPGA

I m using an PCI7813R FPGA board and I'm trying to download a table of data into the FPGA. How can I do this as fast as possible and so I can easily index each data row in the fpga. The length of the table can be variable from run to run. A block of memory where in I could write from the host would be the best solution I think, but I don't think this is possible.
Does anyone have some ideas about doing this?

As you probably noticed, it's not possible to use a table in LabVIEW FPGA. Therefore you will have to go through an array. Keep the following in mind however when using an array:

Last week I was in New York, and I bought the iPad. I'm very happy with my recent purchase, but I would like to use pages before the iPad will be released in my country (July). I have a Dutch Appe ID, ofcourse, and a US Apple ID, without creditcard. Since my adress is linked to my creditcard details, I can't create an ID with creditcard, and Pages is not in the App Store yet. Does anyone have an idea on how to solve this? Thanks in advance!
