How to download patchdb.zip

I�ve got a machine runnig soalris 9, there is no way to connect it to Internet to update it online.
Whwn I use the smpatch analyze command it shows a message telling me that patchdb.zip file is missing.
I�ve been searching everywhere on sun website but I haven't found where to download this file.

You could try to run smpatch on another machine which is connected to the Internet, and copy the files from /var/sadm/spool/cache/ to the machine without the Internet connection. No idea if this would work - AFAIK an Internet connection is a prerequisite to using smpatch.
If you don't mind trying an alternative, take a look at pca ( http://www.par.univie.ac.at/solaris/pca/ ). It was specifically designed to run on machines without Internet connections or only minimal packages installed.

Not possible. Safari won't download and save a Zip file. You either had to use a 3rd party app, or as wjosten suggests, your phone is jailbroken. If the former, you'll need to use that app to find it. If the latter, you'll have to look elsewhere for assistance.

I appreciate your answer. While it might work, I'm a bit hesitant to remove the other programs as a possible solution since they are all currently working.
With Acrobat 9 Pro failing with the OS 10.7 upgrade, I'm hoping that there is a less severe solution.
Since the trigger appears to be 10.7 and may have something to do with the discontinued support of Rosetta, I could be spending a few hours working on a reinstall without a change. Yes, it might work. The "might" is the part that makes me hesitate.
Is anyone else out there on OS 10.7 and running Acrobat 9 Pro? Any issues with anyone else?

i'm currently using command links as there needs to be some action performed before (generating/getting file from backend). however if i right-click on that link i'm offered to download the respective jsf/jsp instead of the file.

Thanks. One more thing that i came across: When downloading csv, pdf or txt files everything works fine, however zip files seem to cause some strange rendering in the same page. The only thing which is different when downloading a zip file is a method call that creates the zip files (with pdf, txt...). did i miss anything?

How to Download Personal Oracle

After trying several times to download Personal Oracle 9i, I perused this discussion group seeking a solution to a problem that I was having and finding that others were encountering the same problem.
Perhaps you have encounted a difficulty in unzipping the Personal Oracle downloads... I and others have reported the fact that there are mutltiple CRC errors in the downloaded file when you try to unzip it.
Well, after analysing the problem I have found a solution and surprise surprise it is marketedly similar to a problem I discovered with Oracle over 3 years ago... a problem which their tech support insisted had to do with the tuning of my companies server... well now I am not so sure that the problem is not inherant within Oracles handling of LOB's on the web. But instead of arguing an old point... let me detail for our users HOW TO DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL there ORacle products.
Step by step:
1. Download the product
2. Download a second copy of the product and save it with a slightly different name
3. Unzip both copies with Winzip 8 or better. You must unzip them into seperate directories. Save the unzip log which tells you which files contained CRC errors.
4. Examine both logs and choose the version that contained the fewest CRC errors.
HERE IS THE SECRET... as in the problem my old employer discovered years ago... the errors occur randomly in LOB downloads... therefore the chance of the same file being corrupt in both downloads is very low.
5. The log will tell you which directory is being extracted and which file was corrupt... search the log for the string CRC in Wordpad... then find the missing file in the alternate tree and copy it to the working copy.
6. Repeat for each corrupt file.
7. when completed you can install the product from your working directory.
Its not pretty... but it works.
After searching for work for the last two months I thought it would be a good idea to refresh my skills with the latest version of Oracle... thank you Oracle for forcing me to use my skills to analyse your problems and develop a wotkaround... I now appreciate Postgres even more... I just wish there were employers who recognised that open source software is better supported than commercial products.

In fact I am still trying out your tip, and have had to work on 3 different ZIP sets so far!!
Still have one or two files that refuse to download right! (Especially the big ones).
I hope I get closer and closer to the final good set of install files soon!

I like to use a third-party archive application, so I really don't like how by default Windows makes zip files expand automatically in Windows Explorer and show up in the folder view.
So... How do I disable zip folders in Windows 7?
In XP and Vista, I was able to find solutions to remove this "feature"
In XP, I simply did...
regsvr32 /u zipfldr.dll
In Vista, I had to remove a couple registry entries:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
; Disable ZIP support in Windows Vista
; restart Windows after applying this patch
[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{E88DCCE0-B7B3-11d1-A9F0-00AA0060FA31}]
[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{0CD7A5C0-9F37-11CE-AE65-08002B2E1262}]
I don't want to guess and delete the wrong registry entries if someone else knows which ones I need to remove.

EDIT - I HAVE FOUND A SOLUTION
After considerable browsing (thank you, Google), I have a solution that works. It is based on fixes for Vista, but works 100% for my Windows 7 64-bit install.
You will need to edit your registry (delete 2 different keys), so I highly recommend you back up your registry or better yet, make an image of your OS drive (probably C:\). I use Norton Ghost 2003 (only from a NG 2003 boot floppy) and have never had a single problem. Norton Ghost does not have to be installed on your system for this to work (in fact, it will stall due to compatibility issues).
First a note regarding the various reg tweaks that are available for download (e.g., "vistaunzip.reg"). These will NOT work - undoubtedly due to ownership/permissions issues.
The following two (2) keys need to be deleted fromthe registry:
For zip files delete the regkey
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{E88DCCE0-B7B3-11d1-A9F0-00AA0060FA31}
For cab files delete
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{0CD7A5C0-9F37-11CE-AE65-08002B2E1262}
When you try to delete them, you will almost certainly get an "access denied" or "failed" type of message. Before you can delete them, you need to change the permissions/ownership of these two keys. Here is how to do it:
01 - open regedit from the RUN console
02 - navigate to the first key that needs to be deleted (HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{E88DCCE0- B7B3-11d1-A9F0-00AA0060FA31})
03 - right click on the key and select "Permissions"
04 - click on "Advanced"
05 - click on the "Ownership" tab
06 - in the "change owner to" section, highlight your username
07 - check the box for "replace owner on subcontainers and objects"
08 - click on "Apply"
09 - Click "OK"
10 - Under "Security" tab, highlight your username and check the box for "Allow Full Control" (located mid-menu in the "Permissions For Administrators" section)
11 - click "Apply" and "OK"
12 - you can now delete the registry key. MAKE SURE YOU ARE ON THE CORRECT KEY!
13 - repeat the process for the 2nd key.
14 - reboot (changes will NOT take effect until you reboot
15 - VOILA! NO MORE ZIP FOLDERS! woohoo!
16 - thanks to the original solvers of this problem, whomever they may be.
I would like the same help that deedvd is seeking. How do I DISABLE the
zip folder function? I do NOT want my zip files to appear as "folders".
Why anyone in Redmond thought this was a brilliant idea is beyond me.
It adds to clutter and makes file browsing a lot less enjoyable. I
simply want my zip files to appear as files - with the ".zip"

probably as frustrating to him as they are to me. Changing the default
program for zip files is IRRELEVANT. It only changes whether Windows or
some third party app (7Zip, Izarc, etc) OPENS the files. They continue
to show up as folders. I tried the unregister script (earlier thread)
"Running regsvr32 /u %windir%\system32\zipfldr.dll should be enough to disable zip functionality. Then just run your 3rd party archite application and let it re-register archive files." and it did not work. I got the same error that deeddvd got "The module "C:\Windows\system32\zipfldr.dll" was loaded but the entry-point DllUnregisterServer was not found.
Make sure that "C:\Windows\system32\zipfldr.dll" is a valid DLL or OCX file and then try again."
I would love to find a resolution to this problem. If anyone out there knows how to DISABLE the zipfolder function, please post the solution. I am thanking you in advance.

When I click on a podcast by clicking on the grey triangle to the left of the podcast's title a drop down menu of past podcasts appear. How to 'GET' all of these past podcasts without clicking the 'GET' button besides each?
I was hoping I could highlight the past podcasts and bulk download them but haven't found a way, do you know how to?

All browsers are setup to download 1 file at a time. If you have more than 1, how do you want them downloaded? One by one or zipped up and download the zip file or ...?
IMHO, this is not your (as a app developer's job). There are tons of browser extensions/plugins available for multi-file download with lots of features. Users can do whatever they want with available download links on a page.
