How to Download Photos from Camera to Computer

Just got Photoshop and couldn't find steps to take camera photos and download to computer.  Would appreciate help on this.  Thanks.

Install Bridge if it is not already, that has a camera import command that accepts most camera models (with exceptions) Both Mac and Windows can import files using the file browser (explorer and finder), You can either connect via USB or a memory card reader (reader is recommended for fastest transfer)
For any more help I have to agree with Noel, you need to provide the OS and its version you are using as details can be specific to that computer and not all of us use both systems.

  • How to download photos from iPhone to computer?

    Thanks for your help.

If you mean Camera Roll (pics taken with iphone), then you import them the same way you would from any digital camera (e.g. camera and scanner wizard, photoshop, iphoto aperture, etc.).

If you mean photo gallery (photos synced to iphone from your computer), then you can't. You can e-mail them to yourself (reduced quality pics).

    Hi Asanyasir,
If you are trying to download your pictures from Photo Stream, you may want to look at this article -
    iCloud: Shared Photo Streams FAQ
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5903
    In particular this section -
Can photos be saved or downloaded from a shared photo stream?
Yes. After photos are shared, anyone who can view the shared stream can download and keep them permanently.
On a compatible iOS device, you can save photos to the Camera Roll. On a Mac, using iPhoto 9.4 or Aperture 3.4 or later, you can save photos from the shared stream to your local Photo Library or any other location on your Mac. On a Windows PC, you can copy photos from a shared photo stream to any folder. On the web, photos can be downloaded directly to your computer from the detail view of each photo.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

When you sync albums to the iphone the same pics wil appear in Photo Library and in the Labum you synced, as this is how Apple handles photos.

I have been trying to figure out a work aroundof this issue too.  It defeats the purpose of photo stream in my eyes.
You can copy a picture from your photo stream to your camera roll and then crop, etc.  But you can't then file that picture into a folder of your choice!?!?!?!  If I have to file the picture on my computer and then resync to do it then photo stream is mostly pointless!!!

  • Trying to download photos from camera to iPhoto, get "unreadable" message

Have you tries Image capture (in your applications folder)?
Will the camera mount to the desktop?
When did you last reformat the card?

    (I am a novice!)

Mac OS X has an awesome built-in application for this purpose called Image Capture
You will find it in your Applications folder on your Mac.
If your USB device is connected, you should see it in Image Capture as well adn download the images.
Image Capture can also connect to scanners, digital cameras, USB drives, you name it.....

And to diversify the use of that port, you could get this specialized adapter:

The cost of admission is modest - at $79 - for what all that it does.

  • IPhoto won't download photos from camera.

iPhoto won't download photos from camera. iMac 10.6.8; iPhoto updated. No Name comes up, says "downloading," but color wheel only goes round and round. I've let it go on for 20" to no avail. Only way to get out of iPhoto then is to Force Quit. Tried downloading pictures through a Card Reader with same results.
Same camera, same procedure for last 5 years and never had this problem. Thanks for any advice.

    Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete the contents the following folder:
    User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: For Mavericks, 10.9,  go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

How to download photos from my I phone 4 (7.0.3) to my I mac (10.6.8)
Is there a I photo App I am not seeing ?

Yes, normally you would connect your iPhone to your Mac via the USB connection. After iTunes has finished its sync, then you launch iPhoto - a separate application which should be in your Applications folder.
After a brief pause, your iPhone should then show up as a device in iPhoto. Select the iPhone in the list and the photos on your iPhone appear. You then choose which photos you want to download to iPhoto on your Mac.
