How to download radio documentaries to ipod through computer.

how do i download radio documentaries to ipod through computer. when i look at the doc site it has i tunes next to each documentary.thank you.

I have to admit, both RTÉ and iTunes now make this a long-drawn-out procedure. However...

the site is www.rte radio1/doconone/. hope this helps
If you mean http://www.rte.ie/radio1/doconone/ - then presumably you clicked on this:
which took you to this page: http://www.rte.ie/radio1/podcast/podcast_documentaryonone.xml .
On that page, at the very bottom, is a section titled How to get this Podcast. Copy the Podcast URL (starting http://) and then in your iTunes, use CTRL+B to display the top menu bar. On that, click on File/Subscribe to Podcast and paste the URL into the box. That should subscribe you to their Podcast, despite being a longer process than it needs to be.
If you are referring to another site, the procedure is still (basically) the same: find the Podcast's URL and paste it into the iTunes Subscribe to Podcast box. An efficient site will actually open iTunes to the "are you sure you want to subscribe" page. Perhaps RTÉ have a bit to learn.

Anyone know how to synch music to an IPod through Bluetooth ?
Welcome all advice and suggestions...I have an IPad but computer available....desperately trying to synch music to my iPod nano

Tech support is giving you the official answer because Apple does not provide a transfer from ipod to computer except for items you purchased from the iTunes Store.
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only purchases from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software.  See this document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991

hi i dont have a wifi broadband n i just bought the new ipod touch can anyone tell me how 2 download apps for my ipod without using wifi

Download the apps on your syncing computer and then sync to the iPod. Note that you can only sync apps for the one syncing computer you use with the iPod. You can manage music and videos among different computer.

  • Anyone has information on how to download 640x480 videos to iPod?

Videos purchased on ITMS are now 640x480. They download to my 5th Gen iPod great. When I play them on my iPod and view them on my TV, the picture is significantly better than the old 320x240 (still not DVD quality though, but certainly better).
I ripped one of my DVDs to 640x480 using Handbrake, copied it to iTunes but it will not download to the iPod because it says it cannot be played on the iPod.
Any idea how to download higher resolution to iPod? If Apple download higher resoution content, why can't I?
    Thanks... Ralph
PowerMac and Sony Laptop   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   2.5 Gig Dual G5

I plan on using Handbrake, so is it better to
    convert to MPEG-4 or H.264? Should I choose 320 x
    240 or 640 x 480 (or other)?
Here is how I do it...
    Codec: Select H.264 video/AAC audio
    File Format: MP4 file
    Encoder: (Baseline profile)
On picture settings, I do 640 x XXX (as close to 480 as you can get).
Rip. Once Handbrake is finished, drag the mp4 file to iTunes. Then try to move it to your video iPod. If iTunes say that video will not play on your ipod, then go to the Advance menu in iTunes and choose the Convert selection for iPod.
Now the movie will move and play in the iPod.
    I plan on playing these
only on my iPod, not to a TV, so what resolution does
    the new iPod support?
The iPod screen displays 320 x 240 (native resolution), if you convert to this resolution, it will download to iPod great and no additional conversion required. Also this will yield a much smaller file.
Since sometimes I watch my shows on my 32" LCD in my bedroom, I prefer 640 x 480, or 640 x 400, etc. due to the better resolution. Negative - much bigger file sizes.
This works for me, hope it works for you.
let me know how you do... Ralph

You can only sync with one computer. and y have to sync to get apps from computer to the iPod. You can sync using the manual method.
Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod
You can copy iTunes purchases from iPod to iTunes by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    Try resetting the iPod:
To reset the iPod without the hardware buttons,
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. All your wifi and bluetooth preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected. You will have to rejoin wifi networks and repair BT devices

See here for photos taken with the iPod: iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
If these were photos that you synced to the device via iTunes, then you'll need to download third party software to help get them off your iPod.

  • How to download purchased music onto ipod touch 2g without computer

  • How do I listen to the songs on my iPod through  computer speakers?

    Ok. I give up.
I don't understand how this iPod Shuffle works.
I got it a few months ago, and copied three or four Brian Eno albums onto it (46 songs to be exact).
I can listen to the songs on the iPod when I am using it with the earphones, but when I plug it into the computer, it says something about "some of the items in the library were not copied to the iPod because they could not be found." (Meaning none of the songs were copied.)
I don't understand what it's trying to do.
The songs were already on the iPod. Why is it trying to "copy" them on to it?
And if I unplug the iPod from the computer and play it through the headphones, the songs are still there.
    Could somebody please help me?
I just want to be able to listen to the songs that are on my iPod through my computer speakers. How on earth do I do that?!!

I have the syncing option unchecked, that is why I do not understand why it is trying to sync.
I am also trying to play songs off my iPod via iTunes.
I also don't understand why I need to have the same songs on my PC if they are on the Shuffle. My songs are on my external hard drive... which I don't always have turned on, or with me for that matter. I certainly don't want to be hauling a hard drive around with me wherever I travel to. I want to be able to copy a small number of my favourite songs onto the Shuffle so I can carry the Shuffle and the laptop around with me and listen to them.
    I need to be portable!!!

  • How to download photo's to ipod

I have no idea how to download photo's to my ipod. I know its capable but i dont know where to start. If anyone know how to get me started it would be much appreciated.

Kuuipo, OK...sync your iPod with your computer. When iTunes comes up and recognizes your iPod, you should see a button in the shape of an iPod in the bottom right corner of the iTunes window. Click on that button. This will bring up your iPod preferences. In there you will find commands on transfering your photos to your pod. Make sure your photos are in some folder where you can easily find them, like of course... "My Pictures".
    Any problems...reply back.
    Good Luck!
