You can find only that message:

Before installation of SAP GUI we need to know the OS details and the OS system Bits (32 / 64).
NW SAP Setup
• Download the software @ SAP Site using S user login ID.
• Download the Software gui730_0-10010496 (include the patch 6 hotfix 1)
• After download Extract it and go to the path and install.

Impossible to download SAP Gui for Java (7.20)

Hello,
I have been trying for more than an hour to download SAP GUI for Java (7.20), but without luck.
I'm on Linux, and have tried chrome, Firefox and download manager. I'm on a plain internet connection without proxy.
On Firefox and chrome:
1) Went to the market place and chose "SAP GUI FOR JAVA 7.20 -> Linux on IA32 32bit"
On the download tab, I see a list of files, amongst which is "PlatinGUILNX_3-10006060.JAR"
Clicking it brings up a new window, but no download is started, i.e. nothing happens. The link in the new window is

Any ideas? TIA
(I must say I'm a little disappointed through how many hoops I have to go for a simple download. The registration was already a bit more complicated than is usual, but I could understand security and administrative reasons. But why is it not possible to provide a simple download link for logged in users which only works for logged in users?)

Please have a look at [notes|http://service.sap.com/notes] of component XX-SER-SAPSMP-SDM, in particular [note 401195|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/401195] regarding Download Manager. Did you enter the address of the SAP Service Marketplace (http://service.sap.com) correctly?
In case you do not find the information to make it work, please create a [support message|https://service.sap.com/message] on the component already mentioned, and someone responsible for Download Manager should contact you.

Hi Matthias,
it is not possible to connect to a CE system via SAP GUI. For administration and configuration use the NetWeaver Administrator http://host:port/nwa. For web application development use the NetWeaver Developer Studio which you need to install on your client machine, for Visual Composer application development you can use the web front end http://host:port/VC.

Hello. What you mean under SAP 5.0 application ?? Download latest SAPGUI is used for all old sap releases ( Except for absolutely old) .
Download from : ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/sapgui/win/710/compilation2/
and last patch from: ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/sapgui/win/710/patches/

I have a requirement to detect the SAP GUI Logon type (GUI for Windows vs. GUI for Java) during the execution of a program.
Is this possible?
Perhaps it would be easier to detect the type of machine; PC vs. Mac ?

Are you logged in with your S-user account? Also I think you have to be authorized for downloading the software. Can you check under your profile, if you have some authorizations?

Click the Systems Tab------>Click the User Defined button
In the Description tab Type a name like Development or Production etc
In the Application server tab type the IP of the Application server
System ID tab give the system ID like D01 or P01 whatever is your sid
System Number 00
Then click Add and logon.

I am able to get '.SAR' file and 'IGS installation guide', however i could not find '.exe' file for installation.
