How to download software w/o a disc drive

I  was given Adobe Photoshop Llightroom 5 when I purchased a new camera. My laptop doesn't have a disk drive.
1. Can I install the software on my old laptop with a disk drive, then transfer the software to my new laptop?
2. Could I download the software straight from the Internet?  I only have a CD and serial number, that's it.

I don't know anything about the Mac, but Windows computers need to have the program installed because there are registry entries and other special system files that need to be installed in specific locations. Here is the link that will enable you to download the last update of Lightroom 5 that included all updates to that version:
Product updates
You will be able to run the installer after it is downloaded. And you will need the serial number that you are given. Just to clarify, that number has 24 digits and the first four are 1160.

If you mean apps from the app store then use the link on this page to search for apps that require iOS 4.2.1 or lower : https://sites.google.com/site/appleclubfhs/support/advice-and-articles/finding-a pps-for-older-devices#4.2.1
(I'm assuming that you have the second generation iPod Touch which only supports up to IOS 4.2.1)

he can by a jack-2-tapePlayer converter and connect your Blackberry to the tape player.
Beware, he won't be able to answer call without disconnectigg it.
Or he can buy a bluetooth device for cars. Blackberry sells some, Apline too.

  • How to download all songs from my external drive into my itunes library

I have enough Gbytes to not use an external drive for my music.
How do I proceed to download all songs from the external drive on my internal drive?

    Hello there, Laetidela.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great steps on how to move your iTunes library from an external hard drive to your computer:
iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4527
    External drive
This option requires more work than Home Sharing, but it creates a backup of your iTunes library on the external drive in addition to moving your content.
    Notes before you start:
You can use most iPods as an external drive.
Windows operating systems don't recognize Mac OS-formatted disks (HFS or HFS Plus formats). Because of this, you can't use a Mac-formatted iPod or external drive to move your music to a Windows PC. See iPod: How to determine iPod's hard disk format if you're not sure how your iPod is formatted.
Mac OS X can read Windows-formatted iPods and drives. This means there are many ways to migrate your information from your old Windows-based PC to your new Mac.
Mac OS X: To be sure external drives appear on your desktop, choose Preferences from the Finder menu. Be sure the options for "External disks" and "Hard disks" are enabled.
Part 1: Locating and consolidating the iTunes Media folder
Part 2: Copy iTunes folder from the old computer:
Part 3: Get iTunes ready on your new computer
Part 4: Back up any music that's already on your new computer
Part 5: Copy music to your new computer
Part 6: Add preexisting music that was on the new computer back into the library

  • How to download past purchases on new hard drive on Mac

My daughter's hard drive died last year (locked within Filevault from ages past) on her Desktop Mac. As a consequence, she has lost several years worth of purchased music from the iTunes store. Is there anyway to re-download her lost music without having to repurchase them all over again?

This seems to take me in a loop between how to authorize/deauthorize my computer and how to download purchases to other devices- not the original PC.   She is older and more responsible now, but no back-ups were used at the time. I know (sigh). We seem to be able to get a listing of past ourchases from iTunes store for only the very recent time.
Arewe just out of luck and learning about back-ups the hard way with her tune library?

  • How to download software update to my nano

I have a new Ipod Nano 8GB. When I connected to Itunes it tells me that there is a new software update available for it (I think it was version 1.1). ITunes then tries to download it.
The trouble is that I don't have broadband. My dial-up connection took over 3 hours to download ITunes when I first got the Ipod. I would be quite happy to let it take as long as it takes to download the software upgrade for the nano but I tried several times and the line kept dropping.
Is it available anywhere as a stand-alone download that I can download from another machine I have access to (which cannot have itunes installed on it)?
    Thanks,
    Stewart

Thanks for that, it's very useful. I'll stay put for now but my problem remains.
The size of the download is about 58MB which is a little larger than Itunes was. As I said I would be happy to wait for the 3-4 hours for it to download but ITunes seems to stop trying, it just doesn't seem to be able to cope with dial-up.
I don't think I have ever seen an Apple store so I guess there isn't one near me.

  • Install downloaded software other than on C: drive

I purchased this morning and downloaded the latest 64 bit version of Elements and Premiere to my E: drive (C: drive has Windows Ultimate 7 64 bit only).
I have six files downloaded - one Application file and 7zArchive file set each for Photoshop Elements, Premier Elements and Premiere Elements Content.
When I ran the Application file for PSE it installed OK - mostly on the E: drive where I directed the install browser - but also put a large number of files on my C: drive under a Program Data directory.
When I run the Premiere Elements Application file it will not install and produces an error message along the lines of 'insufficient space or admin rights'.
I am guessing that as there is now only 3GB free on the C: drive this is why I am getting the failed install (I have the admin rights).
So how can I install the whole - or majority of files - on the E: drive where there is 83GB free?
    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for the reply.
    That was what I feared.
Might have been helpful for Adobe to publish exactly what space - and where is required - in a pre-download checklist.
I can't think of any other software we have - other than the operating system - which HAS to be on the C: drive.

  • How to download iphoto into an external hard drive

    I have a MacBook Air - PowerBook G4 - 15"
    1)  What is the easiest way to download iphotp "PHOTOS" to an external hard drive?
    2)  After it has downloaded, I want to leave the photos still in my computer. Can I do that?
will it just happen to be still on it?
    3)  If I remove photos in iphoto in  PHOTO will they also be removed from the External Hard Drive at the same time?
Thanks for your help. I am timid to do anything until I do this research. My skills are limited at this moment.

drag the "iPhoto Library" to the external drive - by default your iPhoto library is in the pictures folder  --  the only thing you do with the iPhoto application is to "depress the option key and launch iPhoto then use the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive "
    courtesy Larrry
No, unless its time machine, anything do on your Mac is not mirrored in your external HD.
yes, after copied, it will be on your computer to do with as you like.
